Hello third trimester! Ive been constantly aware and appreciative of how fabulous my pregnancy has been. From the overjoyed yet uncertain days when we first received news our FET was successful, to quickly regaining energy and a love for food - weve been incredibly fortunate. We had 2 embryos ready to go. Somehow miraculously, the first transfer decided with graceful stubbornness to stay. The ability to access auxiliary services, such as acupuncture, TCM and physio; as well as access to a wonderful world-class specialist and clinic has been a blessing and reflective of the intersection of privilege we sit in. Trimesters 1 and 2 have flown by and every day has been a revelation, watching in awe as my body adapts and develops in ways I could never have imagined. Ive been increasingly and unabashedly fascinated with my growing bump. Every flutter and twirl from Baby drives home a continuing sense of gratitude. I get hit with sudden waves of recognition that were actually having a baby, a fact Im still getting used to even after 29 weeks. The entire pregnancy experience has been particularly poignant after being told four or five years ago that we would likely never have children. Pandemic panic or not, we know weve been exceedingly lucky in so many ways and are looking forward to meeting our little Laghai-Harris. Our beautiful embryos were created at a clinic in South Australia but I really wasnt happy with everything overall and decided to research and choose a different clinic for the FET. I "met" Kee over a Skype interview following a recommendation from a friend and had some phone and email conversations with the nurses while overseas organising everything. I came back to Aus and flew to the GC for an appointment with Kee, which solidified he was the one and this was the right direction for us.
