24.01.2022 We're pretty stoked to announce that the title track from our debut EP has been shortlisted in the Australian Songwriters Association 40th Australian Songwriting Contest! Well, it's really more of a longlist as the Top 30 in each category will be announced soon, but we'll take it! You can hear it at https://haystackmountainhermits.bandcamp.com/releases if you're keen.

23.01.2022 It’s AusMusicTshirtDay and The Teskey Brothers gained a legion (well, a classroom) of new fans at primary school today! And the word postponed entered a few vocabularies. I have postponed my answer to that question was the best! Please support the music industry if you can via ausmusictshirtday.org.au or Support Act. ... 21.01.2022 Remember to Remember Here are some ideas to remember on 11 November. 1. Remember to wear a poppy 2. Remember to pause for one minute's silence at 11 a.m. 3. Remember to donate to the Poppy Appeal... 4. Remember to attend a commemorative service 5. Remember all who have given their lives in service to their country in wars and conflicts around the world. Remember those who have come home injured or ill, in mind, body or spirit. And remember those who bravely serve our country today. #LestWeForget #RemembertoRemember #ANZAC #ANZACspirit #RSL #RemembranceDay #PoppyAppeal

20.01.2022 Two years ago today Haystack Mountain Hermits became the Australian National Busking Champions, after winning Best Band in 2017. We still pinch ourselves. This video brings back so many fantastic memories of music, fun and new friends in NSW. Now, we are totally biased, but we think Jackson's washboard break showcases why he is one of Australia's premier washboard musicians. What do you think? The video also features Marcus on Donmo resonator guitar and Lachlan playing his D...onmo resonator mandolin (made by Aussie music legend Don Morrison at donmo.com ). We had a lovely afternoon at his workshop when we busked around Australia in 2011. Cheers Don - you were our not-so-secret weapon/s when busking! And thank you, sincerely, to everyone for your support and love on this crazy family musical journey! Did we ever even dream this? Hell, no. Australian National Busking Championships Allan Spencer - thanks Allan! xx #washboard #familyband #busking #acousticmusic See more

13.01.2022 EDIT Somehow the video went AWOL so we've posted it again. Two years ago today Haystack Mountain Hermits became the Australian National Busking Champions, after winning Best Band in 2017. 05.01.2022 Aaaaaaaaand introducing ... Daisy Hermit. What instrument will she choose? Although she’s shown an early affinity with upright bass, she’s also tasted the accordion. And the banjo that someone left on the floor. (And a few pairs of shoes.) But we think she’s gonna be a natural on the Bones.

03.01.2022 It's been 9 months since we were onstage together and geez it was fun to be back at the Artisan Fayre (or Artesian Fayre, as Ella pronounced it when she was little ). There were a few cobwebs (Davo's hat was literally covered in them) but they got blown away pretty quickly. I don't think we ever took playing music for granted before, and I'm damn sure we never will after this year. Huge thanks to Tom at Long Road Studios for such smiling sound. Great to work with you again mate. And this time you and the gear stayed dry! 02.01.2022 We were chuffed and honoured to be invited to perform at Ewingar Rising - Bushfire Recovery Concert in November last year, held to help this tiny community get back onto its feet after not one, but two huge fires ripped through their beautiful country. Our route down into NSW was closed due to fires (oh, the irony) and we had to take the loooooong way around, but we made it (just) in time to walk onto the stage. Nadine Gaffney and a team of incredible people organised the 3 day festival in a month, which raised over $75 000. Even better, the disbursement of funds has been transparent and with Rotary's help, there has been no conflict over the money. Should Ewingar be re-named as Utopia? This story aired last night on ABC News and made us very happy. Kerrie
