12.01.2022 Across our business this week, we have proudly celebrated #NAIDOC Week 2020 and this year’s theme, Always Was, Always Will Be [Aboriginal Land]. At our Nova Operation, we acknowledged the Ngadju as the Traditional Owners of the land and highlighted Ngadju culture and history, including the meaning behind the traditional artwork on our concentrate shed by local Norseman Ngadju artist, Valma Wicker Shultz. We also shared the successes of one of our Ngadju employees, Garth, wh...o continues to be an inspiration for many of his family members. In our head office, we enjoyed a beautiful morning tea provided by Kuditj, an Aboriginal owned and operated catering company, and were fortunate to have students from Dandjoo Darbalung open our morning tea with an Acknowledgement of Country, followed by a moving Didgeridoo and dance performance. We look forward to continuing to celebrate the rich history, diverse cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples long after NAIDOC Week concludes. We actively recognise and acknowledge that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have been the custodians of this land for thousands of years, and will continue to engage cooperatively and with due regard for the feelings, wishes and beliefs of the Traditional Owners of the land on which our mining and exploration activities are located. #NAIDOC2020 #AlwaysWayAlwaysWillBe #makingadifference

06.01.2022 As part of our partnership with the Dandjoo Darbalung Program, we recently hosted four Indigenous students on a mentoring trip at our Nova Operation. The students, who typically live on-campus at St Catherine's College, were introduced to the realities of living and working on a mine site, as well as the many parts that make a mining operation whole. After spending time interacting and building meaningful connections with mentors throughout the trip, some of the students are ...now considering a career in the mining industry, and our mentors hope to keep in touch with the students to provide future guidance and support. This great opportunity plays an important role in providing students with real-world experiences and in closing the gap between leaving university and entering the workplace. We are proud of our partnership with Dandjoo Darbalung and of the work we, together, are doing to make a difference. #makingadifference #closingthegap #nextgeneration #greatjobsinmining #futureleaders #womeninmining
