24.01.2022 We are pleased to announce our club captain for the 2020-21 season: Billie Roger. Billie has been a familiar face around the club for a long time, having swum her first race for the club at just 5 years old, and commencing regular training when she was 9. She has a reputation for being inclusive and supportive, particularly for the junior swimmers at the club. Good luck, Billie!... We would like to thank outgoing captains Tessa Yu and Chris Allie for their outstanding leadership over the previous season, in particular throughout this year, which has been an extremely challenging time for the club, the sport and everyone in general.

13.01.2022 Congratulations to our Head Coach, Rachel Brennemo who has recently attained her Performance Coach (previously Gold) accreditation from Swimming Australia and the Australian Swimming Coaches and Teachers Association (ASCTA). This is a fantastic professional achievement for Rachel and we are so lucky to have her on our team at HC. HC is now the only club in Tasmania with an accredited Performance Coach, which is great for our members.

10.01.2022 FUN MEET SPECTATOR UPDATE We have had a fantastic response to our upcoming Fun Meets, with around 100 swimmers participating in each meet. In light of the ong...oing restrictions on indoor gatherings and the individual facility limits (which include life guards, staff, coaches etc), unfortunately we are not able to accommodate many spectators at either venue. However, we are very pleased to be able to confirm that: In Launceston, any NEW swimmer (a swimmer who has not previously competed in a Swimming Tasmania meet) may bring ONE family member spectator; In Hobart, any swimmer aged 12 and under, or any NEW swimmer (a swimmer who has not previously competed in a Swimming Tasmania meet) of any age, may bring ONE family member spectator; In either venue, any swimmer who needs supervision for medical reasons may bring ONE family member spectator, PROVIDED that a medical certificate is provided to Swimming Tasmania by COB on Friday 14 August. *Please note the above criteria are subject to a limit of one spectator per family. In each case, the designated spectator is required to provide the following details to Swimming Tasmania by 12pm on Thursday 13 August so that we can mark attendance on the day: Name of swimmer Name of nominated spectator (max ONE PER FAMILY) Phone number of nominated spectator Please note that these restrictions are essential for us to comply with Government and Aquatic Centre requirements. We understand that there will be many parents who are disappointed that they are not able to attend but we cannot stress how important it is that the restrictions are complied with. NON-COMPLIANCE WITH THE RESTRICTIONS WILL JEOPARDISE OUR ABILITY TO RUN FUTURE QUALIFYING TRIALS AND MEETS AND WE WILL HAVE NO HESITATION IN ENDING THE FUN MEETS IF WE BECOME AWARE OF FAMILY MEMBERS OR SPECTATORS WHO ARE NOT AUTHORISED TO ATTEND.

03.01.2022 HC CLUB MEET SATURDAY 4 JULY 2020 We’re SUPER excited to be holding our first HC Club Meet since returning to training this Saturday! The focus of this meet will be maintaining skills (turns, dives and underwater work) at full speed. With some social-distancing restrictions still in place, space inside the pool facility is still limited and unfortunately no parent/carer spectators will be allowed on pool-deck for this meet. We can’t wait to see all of our wonderful parents and carers back on pool-deck really soon, but thank you for your understanding and patience at this time.

03.01.2022 Good luck to our Senior State Squad swimmer Jack Direen who is on his way to Pontevedra, Spain to compete for Australia in the World Cross Triathlon Championships.
