24.01.2022 Yesterday I got to witness a monarch butterfly hatch from its chrysalis It was mesmerising to say the least!! I spent just over an hour watching him emerge, slowly unfurl his wings, change his body from short and fat too long and thing and slowly begin exercising his wings.... Now, some might say that’s an hour wasted!! But witnessing years of evolution and the magic of nature before your very eyes was so powerful. I took the opportunity to practise some mindfulness. I started by stabilising my breathing, slowly in..... slowly out. After a minute or 2 of that I just watched the butterfly as he changed. Acknowledging each little movement he made. The little shakes as he elongates his body and how they differ from the very gentle and small wing movements as the grow and dry. Sitting in amazement as he cleans all around his mouth using his tongue?!? (I’m sure there is a better word for this..... I’m unsure of what it is ) Admiring his eyes, while tiny are actually quite big for the size of him!! And then placing him outside to live his best life!! I walk away feeling amazing. It was incredible!! Here’s a few of my picture, enjoy!!

24.01.2022 Do your kids eat veggies? Byron will eat corn on the cob and frozen corn straight from the freezer...... But not much else!!! (He use too eat EVERYTHING, but, you know kids ) Luke will happily eat fresh peas, shelled by hand from the garden...... But cooked? No chance!! ... So it's no surprise I hide vegetables where I can. Tonight it was 1onion, 2 carrots, 4 mushrooms, garlic and I peeled zucchini all hidden in the mix for sausage rolls for dinner. It's a no brainer for the kids, they LOVE sausage rolls and it's totally a parenting win What's for dinner at your place tonight?

22.01.2022 This was me in my active wear before my first Pilates session....... There's a first time for everything right? Mainly me wearing my active wear to actually be active It was amazing for so so many reasons!!!! But mainly because it's something just for me, to better myself and feel good about myself. My instructor was amazing, not just because she is a friend, but because she knows her stuff!! She also may or may not be a fellow essential oil lover ... The bond we created sharing our mindfulness techniques and love of meditation and all things holistic was like we became friends all over again!! Right now I feel relaxed and a little jelly legged.......I'm sure I'll be sore tomorrow!!

16.01.2022 DELIVERY DAY!!!!! My most favourite day off the month especially when it has items from the Christmas catalogue I just adore Citrus Bloom in the diffuser and now I have a luscious hand and body lotion foaming hand wash ... 16.01.2022 Intuition is a powerful thing!! This morning I let Master Byron choose the oils for the diffuser..... When I saw his choices I was.... Surprised!?! Not oils that I would put together at all!! But surprisingly they smell lovely together. Admittedly I put 3 drops of spearmint compared to one drop of Terra armour and Ylang ylang. Spearmint is the oil of confident speech. Perfect for my little men learning to assert themselves and find their voices.... Ylang ylang is the oil of the inner child........ Well, I think Byron put this in for me!! Hahahaha my emotions book says 'it encourages play and restores a childlike nature and innocence' Very fitting for the first day of school holidays. Terra armour is the oil of shielding. Formulated to repel bugs and mosquitoes. The emotional profile adds some depth to this choice though. Taken from the book 'this blend strengthens the protective shield around ones body, helping them to feel safe' What an insight to all the things happening in Byron's life!! 14.01.2022 What a day!! Amazing BOGO offers!! School went back, I finally got to meditate and its delivery day And not just my wellness box, my oily supplies too!!... I'm so excited to try out my Dryer Balls. I know using the dryer isn't the greenest way to dry my laundry but sometimes it's a must!! 14.01.2022 I've been hobbling around for a few weeks now with a sore back.... Getting relief from my Ice Blue Rub and lovely back massages from hubby But after a few nights of mixing the oils in my aromatic dressing bowl I was like 'dude.... Just make a spray' (yes I talk to myself like that) I grabbed an old On Guard Sanitiser mist bottle and got to work!!... I love using my oil lid stickers to make labels for my concoctions, this way it's really easy for anyone to repeat the recipe (it's still me though ) Now I can spray my back and rub it in before my morning shower for extra relief I'm reusing a single use plastic (that's a WIN), I'm using my vast collection of oils to avoid as many pharmaceuticals as possible (still taking paracetamol) and I'm looking at the problem holistically..... 10.01.2022 I'm sure you've heard the term 'Spiral of negativity' or definitely experienced a form of it, but have you heard the term 'Spiral of abundance'? It's certainly wasn't in my vernacular until recently, but once explained I knew that I had experienced it before. Put simply, negative thoughts, emotions and actions encourages more negativity, while positive thoughts, emotions and actions encourages more positivity.... For me it's like that feeling when you get home from work and instead of sitting down and relaxing you do the dishes, put the washing on or do something productive. You've accomplished something at work and that enthusiasm continues when you get home..... That's the Spiral of abundance!! (A very simple example) This has and continues to be a great tool to have in the toolbox of life. It helps me recognise the consiquences of my actions and thoughts and helps foster a health relationship with my brain and thought patterns. Which in turns builds my bodily awareness and allows me time to check my expectations or using some balancing thoughts to avoid the spiral of negativity. 06.01.2022 This was one of the first guided meditations i found and did from YouTube and I keep coming back to it. This year has seen so many outside stresses for all of us, on a global level I love this because it's perfect for beginners, encourage's putting time aside for some self love and helps me calm my anxiety.... 05.01.2022 Being school holidays it's really hard to get a few minutes to myself to meditate..... And it's funny how you come to rely on such things to give your mind a rest!! Luckily I have other ways of calming my mind and/or its racing thoughts. Mindfulness exercises are a great way to stop and take a moment to acknowledge what your feeling but not to let it engulf you. This little shower mindfulness exercise is great because you can do it even if you have a bath full of children wat...ching you (no? Just me!?!? Carry on then ) Once you are comfortable in the shower, start by closing your eyes and concentrating on your breath. Slow it right down. Breath in for 3 seconds, out for 4. Once that feels not so foreign start concentrating on the sound of the water coming out of the faucet. Listen to it's patterns (or lack thereof), notice how it feels when it hits your body. Acknowledge those feelings. Where does the water go after that? Does it run all the way down your body? Or does it run off your finger tips? Wiggle those fingers and acknowledge that feeling. Embrace the warmth and peace (hopefully) you find in these moments. Where does the water go now? Can you hear it circling the drain? Or gurgling away? Notice those sounds, acknowledge them, all while still slowly breathing in and out. Slowly open your eyes again and finish your shower Now...... It almost never goes that smoothly in my head...... I constantly get distracted by my own thoughts ('when a package is travelling by car it's called a shipment and when it traveling by ship it's called cargo' ) but that's ok, it's actually the whole point!! Thoughts are always coming and going from our minds, its whether or not you give them the power that makes all the difference. So my mind always wonders, but I acknowledge that random thought allow it to pass then go back to my breathing and concentrating on the water. The beauty of this exercise is you can take one or 2 minutes or you can take your time....... And it's one I practise everyday!! I love to put a few drops of Balance in the corner of my shower. That grounding scent really helps me calm the mind and start my day right!!! Is this something you already do? Is it something your going to try? Let me know below
