24.01.2022 Been thinking lots about Idealistic Pink lately so I’m naturally gravitating towards and discovering stories with these themes! I love the way Spirit puts me through my paces as an Aura Therapist. The training comes in many creative forms. I’ve been thinking about how, when we’re going through Idealistic Pink phases, we fall in love with a fantasy, an ideal. It isn’t real. The challenge with this is that it can make us fall out of love with reality. Reality is a warts and a...ll experience. It’s never perfect, rarely ideal. And one thing I’ve learned is that when we expect reality to conform to our ideals, we’re generally going to be disappointed. An excerpt from a story I read today: It can be helpful for parents to realise there are "all sorts of things parents wish for in their children that may not come to fruition", she says. Taking away the associations and stories we've attached to our ideas of gender can free us to cherish our children for the unique individuals they are, Dr Miller writes. 23.01.2022 When I asked the Lock Wizard what he helps us with, he showed me an image of him clambering up someone’s chakra system as though it were a mountain (he’s just a small wee fellow!). When he’d climbed high enough, he reached up above the person’s head and inserted a key into a chakra hovering above their head. The chakra unlocked and opened like a treasure chest, beams of light and light-filled symbols spilling forth. After performing this clever trick, the Lock Wizard took a ...bow, as though he were a magician on a stage. Looking more closely, I noticed he held a bag in his hands that reminded me of Santa’s sack. Inside it was an infinite number of keys, with each key being specially tuned to a single person. If you ask him nicely, he can reach in and find your key. There is a shining light inside you, says the Lock Wizard. It wants to come up and out, but it can’t do that if you lock yourself up inside. 22.01.2022 "From the voices of Elders" This year the short films feature yarns from across the central desert: Eastern Arrernte, Arrernte and Warlpiri language groups. In one of them Warlpiri Elder Robin Japanagka Granites shares a story which has been taught to kids at Yuendumu school for years - about a joey that gets lost in the bush and goes searching for its mother.... I think that's a really gorgeous one that we know that pre-schoolers and really young bubs are going to enjoy learning about, Ms Glynn said. A joey that gets lost in the Bush and is looking for its mother: so that's a beautiful way for people to think about community and the importance of staying with your family and knowing your Country. 15.01.2022 The soluble fiber in celery consists of the pectin, gum and mucilage compounds found on the inside of celery's cells. When you eat celery, the soluble fibers absorb water and form a thick, gel-like mass in the digestive tract. This mass slows the rate at which food moves through the digestive system, altering how quickly nutrients like cholesterol and glucose are absorbed into the bloodstream. According to the Cleveland Clinic, this characteristic may be why a diet high in soluble fiber is linked to a lower risk of diabetes and high blood cholesterol. 15.01.2022 I've been really enjoying creating the Psychic Self Care Course. Gathering all my resources and letting everything I've learned over the past 30 years pour through me, brings beautiful clarity and peace. I needed a wee rest from course creation for a few weeks there, but now I need a rest from sketching, so my creative focus has shifted back again. This next lesson is about "Connection", and its yin/yang polar opposite, disconnection. All of the self-care skills include elem...ents of connection and disconnection. When you "Centre" yourself you are connecting with your core sense of self, your deep inner spirit and place of inner peace. At the same time, you are disconnecting from distractions that fragment and scatter your attention. To some extent, connection and disconnection is all about what we are and are not focusing on. When you "Ground" yourself, you connect with the Earth by focusing on it. You disconnect from your thoughts by refusing to focus on them, and plug yourself back into a more mindful awareness of your physical experience, using the focus of your senses as an anchor to maintain the connection. With cleansing, we disconnect from what is being released, and reconnect with our personal space and the flowing River of Life. We open ourselves up so we can receive and release. "Boundaries "and "Connection" are two sides of the same coin, the yin and yang of relationships. Healthy boundaries don’t just keep bad things out, they let good things in. Boundaries are as much about the word ‘yes’ as they are about the word ‘no’ and Connection is as much about giving as receiving. In any healthy relationship we give and we receive in a beautiful continuous cycle of breath, just as the tides come in and go out, and the sun cycles around the earth, alternately rising and setting. The gorgeous Spirit Guide pictured here is Wind Whisper, a loving spirit-Connection between bird, elder and the element of wind or air. I love the way they come to me, Connecting with me, through me, Connecting with my clients through whispers in the wind, with feathers gifted and healing sound, with the heart that levitates in a loving space of grace-filled non-attachment. I love the music they bring, and the full silence, the way they reconnect Us with Heart and Spirit.
10.01.2022 Today I spent some quality time with one of my Reiki Master students and was delighted to see the beautiful work she has been putting in to create her Reiki 2 manual for teaching students. Each Reiki Master has their very own unique gifts and ways of expressing Reiki and I've really enjoyed sharing the journey with them and having a chance to get to know them better. Kristel creates beautiful visual images as teaching resources, and has a gift for unearthing deeply moving po...etry and words of wisdom. We spent a lot of time today talking about love and relationships, because this theme is central to Kristel's attunement journey and her higher purpose, with me madly scribbling away and wishing I could have recorded the eloquently expressed wisdom pouring forth. A while back, Kristel Gittins commissioned a Spirit Guide Sketch and we weren't all that surprised to find a Gypsy lass named Flourina coming through, given this student has some gypsy threads in the tapestry of her mixed heritage. I could very clearly hear Flourina's energy being expressed today, and I thought I might share the odd quote or two! "If we were to seek out relationships based on what we want to receive ourselves if we sought the feeling of the connection, rather than the visual trappings, then we would have relationships that are more fulfilling for us. " "The love we have for another person is a reflection of the love we have for ourselves." Here are some photos of the "Flourina" stock bottle and Aura Sprays we created today. 09.01.2022 Had a wonderful first day back at work for the year! It was so good to start with a Gaian Aura Attunement. My favourite healing consult! My client’s nature sanctuary was rainforest and waterfall, very much in alignment with my own, which made it extra special. We had the welcome swallow helping, along with Venus and Luna (my client had a special psychic connection with the night sky). I sent her home with some Aura Sprays for clearing her space at home, to raise the frequenc...y and clear and stagnancy and we’ve booked her in for a Past Life Soul Retrieval next... we’ll be adapting it to focus on her male ancestral line as opposed to past life, to mop up some loose ends. My second consult was a client interstate, online, for a long Aura Consult. Loved reading for this beautiful woman! Her colours were gorgeous! Our spirit helpers during the healing were a flower spirit called Comvolvulus, which is brilliant for working on the belly chakra, and an Australian indigenous guide I call the Moth Lady who works with plant spirit medicine. My last consult was another aura healing onsite, with one of my favourite clients. She had some hooky-kooky stories to tell about poltergeist activity that were highly entertaining, and I was delighted during the healing when an old friend showed up: Isis, the Egyptian goddess of healing, who is been writing about the day prior. It was such a powerful healing, working with her, Gaia and Medusa, that at one point my ears rang and my feet started burning! At the end of the day I spoke with a beautiful woman who oozed spiritual wisdom, who is just starting her spirit journey in this life, but has obviously been a wise woman in times past. I’m excited to have her come on board with the 6 month Spirit Medicine coaching program because she may well be another gifted healing apprentice in the making. Then, to cap off a wonderful day I had a spontaneous project meeting with my sister about combining my spirit art and journey work (guided meditations) with her medicine music. When people slept less than usual, they responded to these stressful events with a greater loss of positive emotions. This has important health implications: previous research by Sin and others shows that being unable to maintain positive emotions in the face of stress puts people at risk of inflammation and ev...en an earlier death. Using daily diary data from a national U.S. sample of almost 2,000 people, Sin analyzed sleep duration and how people responded to negative and positive situations the next day. The participants reported on their experiences and the amount of sleep they had the previous night in daily telephone interviews over eight days. The recommended guideline for a good night’s sleep is at least seven hours, yet one in three adults don’t meet this standard, says Sin. A large body of research has shown that inadequate sleep increases the risk for mental disorders, chronic health conditions, and premature death. My study adds to this evidence by showing that even minor night-to-night fluctuations in sleep duration can have consequences in how people respond to events in their daily lives.

04.01.2022 In the late 1990s, environmental activist Julia Butterfly Hill spent two years living in a redwood tree she named "Luna." Her goal was to save it from being cut... down by a logging company. She succeeded both literally and mythically. Luna was spared from death, as was a surrounding three-acre swath of trees. Hill became an inspiring symbol of artful, compassionate protest. Later she told Benjamin Tong in the DVD "The Taoist and the Activist": "So often activism is based on what we are against, what we don't like, what we don't want. And yet we manifest what we focus on. And so we are manifesting yet ever more of what we don't want, what we don't like, what we want to change. So for me, activism is about a spiritual practice as a way of life. And I realized I didn't climb the tree because I was angry at the corporations and the government; I climbed the tree because when I fell in love with the redwoods, I fell in love with the world. Now Calfornia are in the midst of their fire season, with terrible fires having already burned over 2 million acres, hundreds of homes lost, and lives lost too. Hazel has been affected by the pandemic, with loss of income making it difficult to find feed and resources for the herd she cares for. On top of that, Hazel is currently undertaking a lot of cleaning up of the overgrown Forrest margins to avoid fire catastrophe, which is very expensive and labor intensive. Mellara's event will guide you through a New Super Moon ritual and intention while clearing pathways for new energy to enter. No experience is necessary.
