22.01.2022 'The Brewer and The Vineyard' is fast approaching and its time for some introductions! We are so please to introduce our Lightgroup Sommelier Thomas Mainey! Tom the Somm. Trained in Sydney through the England-based Wine & Spirit Education Trust, Tom is the exclusive Sommelier for the Light Group’s four venues in Central Queensland: Headrick’s Lane, The Boathouse, Light Box & Auckland House. He is a professional member of the International Society of Wine Educators, as well as a member of Sommeliers Australia. Tom has a penchant for South Australian Shiraz, and you can usually find him sipping on a glass in the serene comfort of the deck at the Boathouse restaurant. Headricks Lane are so excited to be partnering with Woodstock Estate winery for 'The Brewer and the Vineyard' sold out event on the 26.09.2020

08.01.2022 With only two days until "The Brewer and The Vineyard" its time to do two major introductions... Certified Cicerone Alex Taubert and Woodstock Estates representative, Katherine Taubert. Alex Taubert our head Brewer at Headricks Lane is more than just our brewer, he is one of only 4 people in Queensland to earn the title Certified Cicerone. Alex has had his knowledge of beer ingredients and processing (brewing), beer serving and handling, beer and food pairing and his tasti...ng palate put to the test in a gruelling 8 hour long written and tasting exam to earn the title of Certified Cicerone. Alex has hosted several beer and food pairing events and has paired his small batch creations with dishes created by celebrity chefs Matt Golinski and Adrian Richardson. To add to the rivalry of wine Vs. beer, we are excited to host the Woodstock Estates representative, Katherine Taubert as a key speaker at this event. Katherine will take us through the beautiful selection of wines being tasted throughout the night and talk about the vineyard that she gets to call her office. We are excited to have the siblings go head to head in the inaugural Brewer and the Vineyard event.
