22.01.2022 Good Samaritan Athurasramam Project This is an old age home in Idukki to take care of poor and homeless people in their old age. The first floor is under construction for this old age home /orphanage. They are considering to offer help for the education of Indigenous kids so that they would continue post secondary school education.

13.01.2022 We are organising a Blood Stem Cell donor registration drive on July 27 at the new Indian Community Centre, 12 Whyalla St. Willetton. We started such drives when few of our close friends were diagnosed with blood cancer. We found out that if you are of a matching HLA profile with the patient, you can donate a small amount of your blood and person receiving the stem cell in the blood will be cured of the disease. This is the case with many of the blood cancers and other blood ...related problems like thalassemia. How novel is this concept - A small blood donation can save a human life! But currently, there are not enough persons, especially of Indian origin, on the global database for getting a positive match for many of the patients. Finding a match highly depends on your ethnicity. So, if you are between the ages of 18 and 45 years please come and get registered. With nearly 150+ people registering interest for cheek swab kits. Thanks to the selfless volunteers who helped at the stall. 13.01.2022 The state if Odisha in Northern India is still very backward in education and development. Tribal areas of the state are very much a fertile ground for oppression and superstitions. Some com-mitted volunteers from South India formed an agency for the uplift of the tribal people and are working there, living with them, providing home schooling and training.

08.01.2022 This project is to take care of the rejected and unwanted girls by the parents. There are a few orphan girls as well. This is an area where female infanticide is very prevalent. We want to give them the impression that female children are also equally important as boys. The girls we take to our home will get a possibility for a fuller life. At home the mothers give the girls some food only if there is something left after they have fed their husbands and sons. Many women and girls go to bed hungry. Girls do not get proper education and have very few prospects for employment or a career. The Ashish Home for Girls is a solution to this problem, giving girls a safe place to live, food, education and job-training.HI is proud to have initiated the Ashish Project.
