17.01.2022 Tips from Dr Emily Harragon Let’s talk about degeneration!! Degeneration occurs when areas of your spine are dysfunctional/not moving appropriately for a prolonged period of time. Degeneration may be caused by a single traumatic event to the spine/body that was never resolved or returned to normal movement, or can be a result of something mundane such as poor posture everyday for a very long period of time. ... Chiropractors use x rays and functional/neurological testing to determine a spines level of degeneration and use specific adjustments to help the body cope better with the degeneration.

03.01.2022 Tips from Dr Emily Harragon Stages of Disc Herniations In between each vertebrae there is a soft disc that helps to absorb shock and help your spine to move. Disc herniations occur when the tough outer fibres start to tear and break resulting in a bulge forming. As the bulge gets bigger the more pain/neurological issues you are likely to have. ... The most common area for a disc herniation is the lower neck and lower back. If you suspect you may have a disc herniation come in to have a talk about it with one of our chiropractors! Chiropractic can help restore movement and function to the spine and help manage the symptoms associated with a disc herniation.
