24.01.2022 Something that I really love about being a VA is that I am often the sounding board for my clients. Most of my clients are in business on their own so don’t have a team to share ideas with or brainstorm projects (and as good as husbands/partners are, it’s good to get an outsiders opinion). Most days I have a client ask me my thoughts on something or new ideas for ways to serve their community. I recently had a client ask what I would want from them and their service as a mum.... I went and did my grocery shop and in the middle of Coles came up with an idea, raced home to email my client and within 24 hours we had a new freebie created and set up on her website and being downloaded! I love brainstorming ideas and seeing things come to life and I think collaboration is so important in business, especially for so many of us that work from home on our own!

22.01.2022 We may already be a week into the new year but this is my first post of the year so Happy New Year!! I enjoyed a week or 2 off work and have been easing back into this week. I hadn’t had a break from work for over 13 months and it was really funny because the night before my first day back this week I got those anxious/dreaded feelings I use to get before returning to my corporate job. But as soon as I started my work and connected with my clients, all that anxiety and dre...ad went away and I realised my work is nothing like my old corporate world (thank goodness!!). A new year also means some new clients and I’m excited to say that I am booked out for January! I don’t take on many new clients at once because I like to take the time to get to know them, their business and their processes so I won’t be taking any new clients for the rest of the month. If you’re looking for a VA please still get in touch and I can either add you to the waitlist or help you find a suitable VA within my VA community. To my current clients, I’m still here for you and have capacity to support you with anything you need so just reach out! I know many of you have some big goals this year and I’m so excited (and grateful) to support you with these goals

11.01.2022 Yesterday I attended a productivity and goal setting workshop run by Julie from @oceanflowprogram (thanks to @rach_in.natures.hands for organising it for the #healthyinthehills girls!). I'll be honest, I'm often a little sceptical about goal setting workshops because they all seem the same (we all know about SMART goals right ) but I felt a pull to attend the workshop and I am so glad I did (and any excuse for a kid free morning )!! It was so practical, made so much sense a...nd I'm actually inspired to write out my goals and make a vision board - something I haven't done since having kids!! Julie shared some practical tips for productivity ( biggest procrastinator ever here) that I am actually excited to implement (again, usually I eyeroll at rituals, but I now realise I've just never found one that aligns with me!). I've also realised that I often procrastinate because I'm overwhelmed with everything I need to do but Julie gave us tips to help overcome that overwhelm and quit the procrastination!! Julie has another workshop on the 15th January and I really do recommend it. The early bird special is only $19 so jump on it. Thanks Julie!

04.01.2022 Sooo how many coffees are too many??? Not much sleep is happening over here, juggling catching up on work at night with my son who is the master procrastinator when it comes to bed time (he needs socks on, he needs his water filled up, he needs to tell me about every sound he hears. Why doesn’t he understand how amazing sleep is??). Then just as I get into bed around midnight and drift off to sleep, my daughter wakes up! And has Christmas crept up for anyone else? I usually have most of my shopping done in November (I also have 3 family birthdays in the 10 days before Chrissy) but I just got started this week. Thank goodness for online shopping - now they just need to arrive in time! How are you all feeling? Is it just me going a little crazy this year or are we all there??

02.01.2022 I know what it feels like when you see your numbers go down with your newsletter. You put so much work into the content you put out there and you really do want to help others - it's why you do what you do! But then you receive a notification that someone has unsubscribed and you feel deflated. You start questioning what it was that made them unsubscribe, was the email too long or too short? Are you sending too many? Is the information not good enough? Do they not like you? ... You know what - when someone unsubscribes, it has absolutely nothing to do with you (unless you have gone out of your way to offend your whole email list)! We've all unsubscribed from emails before - you change and evolve and what interested you a year or 5 years ago, doesn't interest you now. It's most likely not because the business or person who sends the emails has done anything wrong, it's just because it doesn't serve you anymore. We only want our emails reaching the people who we want to serve! And you know what else? If you're worried about your contact list number going down - you're looking at the wrong number!! Think about it, if you have 100 people on your list but only 15 people (therefore 15%) are actually opening your emails - what’s the point in having the other 75 people on your list? These 75 people just bring your opening rate and click through rate down! So let's say 20 people from your 100 unsubscribe - that seems like a lot right? But if they weren't opening your emails anyway, then who cares - you're not reaching any less people! And then your opening rate will increase to nearly 19%! So it all comes to mindset and what you choose to focus on. Unsubscribes are a good thing!! I'd love to hear your thoughts on this! How do you feel when someone unsubscribes? See more
