These cards can help carers, practitioners or support workers to communicate with older people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. 15.01.2022 SURVIVE THE HEAT With the weather forecasted to be above 35 degrees today in Melbourne, if you or someone you care for was in distress, would you know the signs of heat stroke? Heat stroke is fatal in up to 80% of cases. Heat stroke occurs when the body's core temperature rises above 40.5 c and the internal systems start to shut down. A person suffering heat stroke may stagger, appear confused, have a fit or collapse and become unconscious.
