The Samford Netball Club will be running an 8 week Little Netta Netball Program for ages 4-9yrs in Term 4 on Thursday Afternoons 5-6pm at the Samford Netball Parkland Courts, starting in October. The program will follow the recommendations from Netball Australia and is designed to introduce and develop the various skills required for playing Netball and sport in general. The program is designed to enhance their balance, coordination and h...and eye skills as well develop the sense of participation and team play. The program will introduce the participants to a variety of Netball drills and games. Every participant will also receive a t-shirt and ball. 18.01.2022 Loads of fun at Little Nettas last Thursday. For Week 1 we focused on roughly introducing the basic principles netball and getting to know the team. Looking forward to Week 2!

18.01.2022 Due to this morning’s Queensland Health announcements, we are asking that as of the 10:30 round today, no spectators attend the rest of the day’s games. We’re ...still able to continue under our COVID-Safe plan, but ask out of respect for the health and safety of our community, that no spectators come to the courts. At this stage, this is only for today, and is an extra precaution for all players and our community. To ensure we can play out all of our fixtures, please make sure we continue to adhere to our COVID-Safe points: Regular hand hygiene (sanitise before, during and after games) Adhere to our entry (Allom Street) and exit points (Green Terrace) Only arrive 15 minutes prior to your game time, and immediately leave the courts once your game has finished Maintain 1.5m social distance whilst off court We thank our community for their ongoing assistance in ensuring we can remain on court, in a safe way

17.01.2022 Hope you have all been keeping safe and well, no doubt you have seen that the QLD government is slowly easing restrictions that were put in place in response the COVID virus. It is still unclear when club level netball will be able to resume, and with respect to that, Downey have released a survey to get a guage on what the broader netball community is thinking. If you can spare the time, please complete the survey.

05.01.2022 We are hoping to get a 9 week blast season under way on 18th of July! Downey Park would like indication of team numbers by the 26th June. We are requesting expressions of interest from our members in playing in this competition. By messaging us, expressing name and age of player wishing to join. ... Ideally we would like to retain the team structures we had in place prior to COVID making use the grading process that occurred earlier in the year. (Obvious exceptions around new players joining teams and of course players indicating they may not be comfortable participating which is perfectly ok). 02.01.2022 Juggling is a fantastic skill! It helps improve hand eye coordination, which is an essential skill in netball and it also helps maintain and increase range of motion in the arms and shoulders. It is beneficial for all age groups, and we challenge you to give it a try! Be sure to show off your skills and tag us, we would love to see! All you will need is 3 small balls. If you dont have 3 balls, try rolling up some socks.

02.01.2022 Week 2: Snatch and catch. Our new Chicken Littles made their first debut against Team Kaos, with the cook sisters snatchin those intercepts it was a hard fight but they managed to get their first win. Scotts also took their first win for the season against Young @ Heart but boy was it a nail biting game as Steve liked to yell out One for One, and with the final goal they managed to get a 1 point lead. ... Black Jacks are coming in hot as they took their second win of the season from Not Fast But Furious. Will be interesting to see if they can keep the winning streak against Scotts next week. See more
