25.01.2022 I'm incredibly thrilled to be invited as a panelist for the upcoming event hosted by Curtin Business Insights and WA-Singapore Business Connect. I'm so excited to be presenting next to and learning from the amazing Stephen Carroll and Dr Sandy Chong, alongside other professionals and business owners. As a social enterprise start-up in WA, I've faced many challenges and opportunities. AIthough I was focussed on my mission of improving health and wellbeing outcomes of Austra...lian children, it wasn't always easy or straight forward. I'll be sharing my insights at the event on what I've learnt along my journey. WA is certainly an awesome city for a start up! There are only a limited number of tickets available, do register and I look forward to seeing you there! https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/curtin-business-insights-20 P.S: Please come and say hello after the event. I'm always happy for a chat!

24.01.2022 It's been nearly 10 years since I stepped foot in this lecture room at Curtin University. Starting this afternoon and over the course of the next 6 days, I'll be here embarking on an intense journey of growth, learnings, #development and opportunities. This morning I got really emotional and burst out crying. ... It's been nearly three years since I started my business, purely from my passion. We self-funded, self-navigated the process of operating a #business in the industry. I was fortunate to drive from my knowledge of tax investigating Australian businesses and how they operate. But I have to say, my entrepreneurial journey has been really rewarding yet challenging and lonely. There's been many many tears and sleepless nights. A few times I have wondered if this is for me. I'm blessed to still be standing. I'm so #grateful for this opportunity to be here today, to receive support for the next phase of my business to positively impact the #health of less priviledged children in our rural and remote communities. I'm so excited to be going through this journey with close to 80 other entrepreneurs. If you're planning on starting a business, it will be challenging but believe in yourself you can do it, even if it's just out of your #passion.

24.01.2022 NATIONAL WORKING PARENTS DAY - 16 SEPTEMBER To all Parents here: This is for you. ... I'd like you to acknowledge what an AMAZING parent you are. We all have good days and bad days. We all make mistakes. But we invest in a great deal of our energy, time, resources, love for our children to provide them with the absolute best. Your children wouldn't be here and have the life they have now without you and what you provide for them. You are all amazing parents. Give yourself an appreciation and gratitude for your ability and willingness to do your best for your children. Give yourself a big hug. Give yourself a pat on the back. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

22.01.2022 I'm so blessed to have the opportunity to teach early childhood children on making positive and healthy choices! Today I explored feelings with children and taught them: - naming of feelings - it's normal to have feelings (negative and positive)... - self regulation of emotions - calming down strategies such as breathing Identifying and articulating our feelings and emotions is a key skill for our little people, followed by learning how to manage. We ended our session with gratitude, and it's so beautiful to hear each child share with me and our group what they are thankful and happy for. I'm so impressed Miss Jenny teaches children across all age groups Yoga every day before and after nap at Sparrow Early Learning Thornlie. Yoga has tremendous benefits for children! I hope you have a blessed rest of the week.

21.01.2022 I've had the pleasure of meeting Lacey Filipich this morning and getting my hands on a copy of her new book - Money School. Lacey teaches both children and adults how to manage money better (aka more ins than outs, own more than owe) and be financially independent. I can't wait to read her book and implement money smart skills in my personal and business life. ... If you'd like to learn more, here is her website: https://laceyj.co/

21.01.2022 Happy International Women's Day! May we acknowledge all the inspiring women who make a positive difference in our lives and those around us. I'm so grateful towards Department of Communities for featuring my photo on the front page of their Intranet, in celebration of International Women's Day. They have been incredibly supportive and an advocate of our community initiatives. ... Department of Communities delivers amazing initiatives for women and children's interests. We are very blessed to have their advocacy across our State. May we continue to lift, inspire, support and advocate for one another. Here's to strong women: May we know them, may we be them, may we raise them.

20.01.2022 Happy Monday! This beauty caught my eye and made my morning as I drove into a Perth carpark this morning. To me, this painting captures the richness and beauty of our aboriginal culture in this beautiful land which we live on. ... I feel so blessed and hope this painting brings a smile to your face and brightens your day! I wish you all a fun-filled and productive week, and remember you're all amazing doing the best you can. Much love. #happiness #diversity #gratitude #aboriginalart

20.01.2022 Hello ducks! I adore spending my Wednesdays with my little man, in sunshine and nature. It helps me fill my cup, rewind, relax and reconnect with him.... What about you? I hope you're having a lovely week! #nature #well-being #bonding #mumandson #family #reconnect

18.01.2022 What a pleasure it was listening to @marnylishman and @greg4hire this morning discuss the importance of well-being - my favourite topic! Did you know: Mental wellbeing is equally as important if not more than physical well-being. Love their work in schools currently teaching children on mental health and resilience!! ... I hope you're all making time for your physical and mental well-being this week. Some ideas on maintaining your wellbeing: - exercise - eating well - play and doing things that bring you joy - sleep - meditation - getting outdoors in nature, soak in the sun - practising gratitude Have a blessed day ahead

12.01.2022 Spending time outdoors is paramount for our health and well-being! Perfect play and exploration for our little ones. Will you be taking time out to connect with nature this weekend?

09.01.2022 FIRST EXPERIENCE My 21 month old has been fascinated about buses for about two months now. He gets excited when we see a bus drive past, waves hello and can articulate "BUS" very well - one of the few words in his vocabulary. Today I decided to bring him on his first ride on the bus, along with his 6 year old sister. ... Excited was an understatement. We waved and thanked the friendly bus driver as we alighted the bus. It was an awesome experience not just for my son, but also for my 6 year old daughter and I. It enabled us to WAIT patiently for the bus to arrive, and was able to notice things in our surroundings we would not have noticed by sitting in a car. We saw the cars driving past, a bridge, birds chipping, a lady walking her three cute puppies. It enables us to slow down, appreciate nature and with our senses! We also discussed the benefits of taking the bus such as being more sustainable for our environment than driving. Children love exploration and time with parents. Make time for your children to explore your environment and spend time together. It's much more enjoyable and sustainable than jumping in the car! Thank you @transperth_wa for providing WA community with an awesome and quality public transport experience. Happy school holidays!

08.01.2022 Happy Weekend! I hopw you've all had a fulfilling and purposeful week! After a week long of leading stressful and busy lives, do take time this weekend to rewind, recharge and do things that bring you joy. ... My teenage daughter asked to join my run this morning. By 7.30am, we had finished our 10k run and it was both beautiful and bonding. We ran along Mounts Bay Rd to UWA, it was scenic and energizing to run with the breeze and soaking in the sunshine. My cup is filled and my heart feels so warm right now having reconnected with my daughter and nature! May your weekend be filled with sunshine, laughter and love.

08.01.2022 - Breathing is an amazing tool for teaching children on calming down and self-regulate their emotions. It was my absolute pleasure visiting Sparrow Early Learning Hilton last week! ... I shared with an awesome group of children the hand tracing breathing which supports us with taking deep breaths in and out while we trace our hand. We also explored the wonderful outdoor spaces by engaging with our senses: - What can we hear? - What can we see? - What can we feel? - What can we smell? Connecting with our senses in nature is a great mindfulness tool in helping us relax, calm down and be present. I'm in awe of the amazing holistic approach adopted by the Sparrow Hilton service to support the culture of the community. Everything in the centre is embedded with holistic focus for children and families. I particularly love their peaceful parenting cards. I feel so blessed to be working alongside a great team at Sparrow Hilton to support the wellbeing of children and families. Thank you and congratulations Maria Carabetta! What an amazing initiative and leadership you've built within your standout childcare service. Have a lovely week ahead!

07.01.2022 It was an absolute pleasure visiting Sparrow Early Learning Seville Grove earlier this week. It's my first visit since Covid-19 and it always brings a smile to my face visiting the team and children. I love the close-knit family, warm and nurturing environment they provide for the children. It always impresses me how well each of the team members collaboratively to provide the best care and education for the children. ... The team members here know each of the children so well, and to support, inspire, nurture, care for their different needs and interests. A positive and supportive team culture is paramount for the success of operating a childcare service. The team here clearly demonstrates that to me. This week, I shared with the children on exploring and naming our feelings. I explained that everyone has feelings and it's normal to have feelings such as anger and sadness too. We tried meditation breathing to calm us down. Thanks Sparrow Early Learning Seville Grove for having us at your service. Keep up your awesome positive team culture you've built. #sparrowearlylearningcentres #childcare #feelings #selfregulate #children #education #wellbeing

07.01.2022 Stair climbing is a development milestone for toddlers. We don't have stairs at home, but my son has slowly developed this skill when we're playing outdoors. I'm just so amazed at how quickly children develop and grow. ... Nature play is amazing!

06.01.2022 STRAWBERRY PICKING We went on a strawberry picking adventure this morning! It ticked all the boxes for a perfect family outing:... Connecting with nature Family bonding It is healthy It was our first time at a strawberry farm and we had fun exploring in nature, bonding and yep.... my children ate the strawberries whilst picking and filling up our box. My toddler ate sand coated strawberries, picked strawberries, and enjoyed the nature environment. Nature play experiences are paramount for their growth and development! My niece and nephews inspired us to go as they went strawberry picking about a month ago and bought us a whole box. We decided to try it today and it was fun-filled. What an experience seeing how strawberries are grown! What nature based activities do you enjoy with your children?

05.01.2022 Nature Play is paramount for children's play and development! My little man enjoys exploring in our garden regularly, playing in the sand and mud and picking things up. Do you encourage nature play in your household or school too?

05.01.2022 I had an amazing time this morning teaching "Wellbeing" to children and discussing Self-Care with Educators. I'm so impressed with @sparrowearlylearningcentres taking a proactive approach in supporting their educators, children and families "wellbeing". Educators and teachers are one of the most important professions. They nurture our future leaders and creates all the other professions.... I shared with the group the key aspects of maintaining a positive physical wellbeing such as sleep, nutrition, exercise, spending time with those we adore, relax, and hygiene. I enjoyed engaging the children with physical activities such as jumping jacks, crab walking and planks. The kids were so amused with my fitball. It must be the biggest ball they've played with. The educator said to me after: "You don't look like you're working. You look like you're having too much fun with the kids!" I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to do what I love - teaching children to care for their health and wellbeing.

04.01.2022 I'm incredibly humbled and grateful for being awarded a scholarship by Department of Communities WA to attend this year's Curtin University Ignition Program starting next weekend!! Whilst I have been blessed in delivering our Start Healthy Education programs to over 1,000 children across diverse communities in Perth, this came to a halt during Covid. Through inspiration from two people, I developed a business idea to take my programs on a digital platform so I could improv...e the health and well-being outcomes of disadvantaged children in Western Australia's rural, regional and remote communities. This serves my values of inclusion and equality to enable children in vulnerable communities to have access to quality health and well-being education. I am so excited for the next phase of my business and being able to create a positive difference in a small way. Early childhood education, health and wellbeing are three that are close to my heart. Being able to do what I love and make a positive difference is an honour. I am grateful towards to every single person who have inspired, encouraged, supported and most importantly, BELIEVED in me. Together, we can all create a positive impact to our future generations and our environment. I wish you all a blessed weekend.

03.01.2022 Happy Sunday! This morning, my daughter (aka my running coach) supported me in my speed runs. We both love to win. She gets a tiny head start and we race each other. ... I love getting my kids involved in my training because it's fun-filled, time spent together and teaches them the value of consistency, hardwork and fitness. I remember when my eldest daughter was 9, and I was training for my first half marathon, she used to cycle 15km to 20km with me on Sunday mornings to keep me company. We literally spent 90 to 120 mins running and cycling together non-stop, and we had the best mum and daughter time together. The experience inspired her to take up running and completed her first 12km race at age of 12. She's such an inspiration to me when she used to wake up at 5am in the mornings before school to run. I hope to instill the importance of health and fitness in our kids, and they can adopt it as adults because it positively impacts our physical and mental wellbeing. In my darkest times, when I continued to exercise, it has improved my ability to function day-to-day and cope with stresses and anxiety. Do you enjoy exercise too? What motivates you to get started? How do you get your kids involved?

01.01.2022 CULTURAL DIVERSITY FUN FACT: Did you know in Western Australia, our people can speak up to 240 languages and dialects across the state? As we are approach Harmony Week (15 - 21 March), this week, I wanted to teach children about celebrating our differences, inclusiveness and respect. ... This week, I used one of my favourite book resources "Giraffes can't dance" to share with children on appreciating and embracing our differences. Whilst we are all different, we are all amazing in our very unique ways, just like Gerald the Giraffe. As a group, we discussed where our parents are from, what foods we eat and what languages we speak at home. I shared with these children the importance and meaning of diversity as we learn so much from each other. Next week, I'll be sharing about our Noongar cultures through a beautiful book called "My Culture and Me" by Gregg Dreise. What do you enjoy about Harmony Week? #diversity #culture #earlychildhoodchildren #earlychildhoodeducation #respect
