25.01.2022 So, let us tell you something about Hayden. He’s always a pretty happy bloke, our clients love him, but he’s happier than usual right now. He’s been walking in here each morning with an extra spring in his step because he’s starting a new program called HEALTHY GOALS where he gets to work one-on-one with people who are self-managed or plan managed through the NDIS. We reckon he’s excited because he knows that might mean he get to take people around some of the local tracks a...nd trails or to free community programs, or help them get stronger, or help them get a basket full of good food on a supermarket shop but mainly because it might mean he’ll get to kick the footy with some new people! . Where do you find out more? Our website of course! Tag someone who might be interested or check it out here https://healthytasmania.com.au/What-We/Health-and-Wellbeing See more

25.01.2022 Nope, the people in these pictures aren't flying, but the Healthy George Town Tai Chi sessions are.

25.01.2022 For some of us, cutting right back on coffees or sugar for a day or two can be really challenging. For those of us who smoke, cutting down to less than half or better yet, quitting altogether would be REALLY tough. Well done to these champions who are still making huge progress in their quitting journeys six weeks after the Healthy George Town HealthyQUIT program finished.

24.01.2022 As we negotiate the foot taps and elbow bumps, the endless cleaning and keeping our distance, has social distancing also changed the way we feel about things? Have a listen and see what you reckon... Ep 3 has dropped!

21.01.2022 In 2008 a green and keen project officer with freckles and long brown hair found herself in the centre of a leafy park with swarms of people walking towards her with yoga mats under their arms. They were about to participate in the first FREE session of yoga as part of a community-wide health and wellbeing initiative. The project officer was armed with a bunch of pens and stack of paper forms for participants to fill out providing their demographic and health information, an ...insurance indemnity, photo consent and emergency contact details. The project officer was pretty impressed with herself as she knew she had ticked all the safety boxes but also would have all the data she needed to report to her managers and the funding body on the success of the program and she was confident future funding would be in the bag but when 100 people turned up suddenly ticking these boxes was a massive job. As the years went by, the funding did keep rolling in and free community programs continued, but the paper forms kept piling up and up, as all of that rich data had to be entered manually. BORING and time consuming. Fast forward 9 years and this project officer, now business owner, got sick of manually entering peoples ages, health care card status, languages spoken at home, chronic conditions, address, email, medications, allergies, next of kin, location of birth, and the list goes on and the hours pass. So she created a phone app and over a period of four years that app has been tried and tested, upgraded and transformed into an innovative data collection platform with integrated apps available for any community project or service that needs to manage a large number of contacts and collect data for reporting and evaluation purposes. The Im In app underpins all of the work that we do in the community and if you want to save your workload and accurately and easily report on the impact of your work, YOU CAN use it now too. Give me a call, Im not green anymore, but Im still very keen because finally DATA COLLECTION IS EASIER THAN EVER http://www.healthytasmania.com.au//I%27m%20In%20App%20Flye

15.01.2022 So often people say to us all you do at work is have FUN! Dancing in the street, doing exercise classes with brooms, learning about why laughing is good for you, talking to bum doctors, dressing up like John Farnham and well YES we do have lots of fun at work, but there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes partnership management, policy development, contract negotiations, advocacy, meeting coordination, evaluations... and for today... grant writing, podcast reviews and approving the wire frames for our new multitenancy app platform.... and well that stuff makes for pretty boring socials! So S off to all those out there today working busily away behind the scenes to make the good stuff happen
