18.01.2022 This is an extremely important message for every Western Australian today: If you are feeling unwell with ANY symptoms of a cold or flu - STAY HOME. Some people... are legally required to self-isolate, but this is a call to every Western Australian to do the right thing and not put others at risk. That means: If you are unwell, don’t go to work. If you are unwell, don’t go to school. If you are unwell, don’t go to the shops. If you are unwell, only leave the house if you need to seek medical attention. If you are unwell, wait until you are feeling 100% before going back to work or school. There's every chance that it will just be a cold - but don't take the risk. Stay. Home. And if in doubt or needing advice, CALL your GP practice.

01.01.2022 Congratulations to Ellen Health’s Nurse Practitioner Jille Burns, who has become the first Nurse Practitioner to complete the Fellowship in Nutritional and Envi...ronmental Medicine through the Australasian College Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM). The ACNEM qualification framework was first launched in early 2013, and Jille completed the requirements in 2014. The final hurdle for Fellowship was a vive voce examination. However since the beginning of ACNEM in 1982, Fellowship has only been available to Doctors and Dentists. With a new Executive Director, late last year the ACNEM Fellowship was opened up to all health professionals. Jille has been at Ellen Health since 2011 and is one of the few Nurse Practitioners in private practice in WA. Jille received Fellowship of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine in 2018. However despite being a regular since 2010 at ACNEM events, both as participant and lecturing, Jille by virtue of her discipline was not eligible for the final recognition of her expertise. I have been patiently awaiting the Fellowship to be available to all health professionals she said. I am delighted with the direction ACNEM is now taking. Fellowship is the highest level of education recognising extensive training, knowledge and skill in Nutritional and Environmental Medicine. Offering the Fellowship as multidisciplinary is demonstrating ACNEM is moving into the future of healthcare - inclusive and collaborative. The more people who know the evidence and the difference Nutritional and Environmental Medicine can make in people’s lives, the huge shift we can make for all Australians’ health, well-being and longevity.
