25.01.2022 Yesterday I shared my first ever crochet project a dishcloth. I loved the process so much I decided to make another one immediately. Here is my 2nd attempt and I love, love, love how it has turned out. Amazing what a difference a day makes so much straighter and uniform. Now I need to decide whether or not to edge it........

25.01.2022 First day of Spring! A glorious day to begin a new season. This is my happy place. ... #health #wellness #heartbasedholisticliving #happyplace #sselfcare #thisiscoastlife #coastielife #centralcoast #centralcoastnsw

25.01.2022 Morning meditation in the backyard. So lovely to slowly hear my tiny corner of the world awaken bit by bit.

24.01.2022 In my constant quest to reduce my own environmental footprint I may have just discovered a new hobby. It may not be pretty but that won't affect its function. My first ever crochet project is a little wonky but being a dishcloth that's okay. As my new found skill develops I am sure so will the beauty of my work. The cloth itself is 100% cotton so can easily be washed over and over. Once it reaches end of life it can be composted leaving no waste. Of course it may find another use between its current form and composting too. I found the art of crocheting itself quite relaxing and I look forward to creating more of these little beauties and progressing onto other projects over time. #health #wellness #heartbasedholisticliving #selfcare #permaculture #waronwasteau #zerowaste #newskill #earthcare #peoplecare #fairshare

24.01.2022 I managed to nurture one of my beloved Warrigal Greens back from the brink....yay!! There may also be a smaller one saved but it's a bit touch and go! #health #wellness #heartbasedholisticliving #nurturenatute

22.01.2022 Came home, from running errands, today to see my warrigal greens desecrated by the guys who mow my lawn regularly. To say I am upset would be a bit of an understatement. The delicious greens were at least 50cm in diameter. For them to say they didn't see them is a load of crock. Time for new lawn maintenance staff...which is only a temporary gig anyway, because my ultimate goal is to have food growing instead of lawn.... See more

20.01.2022 They met in late November on neutral ground then as I opened our home, Bindi opened her heart (she didn't really get a choice). There have been some rocky patches along the way but all in all a great outcome. Their friendship grows stronger with each passing day. ... 19.01.2022 The power of essential oils never ceases to amaze me. Today it was Copaiba. Almost a week ago I was bitten by an ant. A few days after the initial swelling and bite pain dissipated, an aching pain began radiating up my arm causing a considerable amount of discomfort. I tapped into as many natural remedies as I could but nothing gave me lasting relief. After getting medical advice from a GP, {just take pain killers} and being advised they had no major concerns with my conditi...on, I decided to trial a combination of Ice Blue and Copaiba. I had heard this combination was fantastic but never had to personally use it.....until now. AMAZING!!! It has been over an hour since I applied the combination and I have been almost completely pain free for the first time in 3-4 days. #health #wellness #heartbasedholisticliving #doTERRA #naturalremedies #essentialoils #lovemyoils #copaiba #iceblue #painfree @ Central Coast NSW

18.01.2022 For anyone who needed a reminder!!!

17.01.2022 When a quick walk to the veggie patch lifts your lunch to the next level. Lunch started off with a leftover baked potato, a couple of florets of cauliflower and some cherry tomatoes. A quick look out the window instantly displayed my beautifully snowpeas and red mustard (purple wasabi) greens. A drizzle of olive with a little seasoning....and a few minutes later there's this Home grown, organic deliciousness!!! #health #wellness #heartbasedholisticliving #permaculture #zone1 #freshisbest #selfcare

12.01.2022 And then there were three. I promise there won't be anymore dishcloth posts. I just wanted to show all colours and progress, which I am super happy with. It won't be long until they will called into action as my current coco sponge and scourer are nearing their end of current life. I'm wondering, however, if there's a way to repurpose the scourer before sending It to compost. Feel free to share any ideas. (The sponge will go through the wash one more time for a little refresh.) #heartbasedholisticliving #earthcare #selfcare #crochetlove #permaculture

08.01.2022 Rescuing my warrigal greens. Let's see if this works I have found four of the less damaged "cuttings" and popped them straight back into the ground. Given them a good helping of beautiful compost, produced onsite, and mulched over with the greens that couldn't be saved.... Doing this will give the cuttings a good chance to survive and enriches the soil. The damaged plant produces no waste as it cycle nutrients back into the soil during decomposition as well as protecting the soil from drying out and much more. Love putting learning into practice, a big thanks to my friend Michelle at Bite Size Permaculture for the reminder #health #wellness #heartbasedholisticliving #permaculture #earthcare #zerowaste #warrigalgreens #warrigalgreensrescue

08.01.2022 Happy New Year!!! I started the new year by decluttering books.... Who knew there were so many!!! I definitely have more than my fair share so if anyone on the NSW Central Coast (Australia) can see any they would like, let me know * 269 books were sorted through and my target was to reduce my stash by 50%... Whilst didn't quite hit my goal I think I did pretty good. What do you think? * Discarding (gifting, donating) 124 books * Keeping 145 books - a lot of these will be reviewed in 6 months and moved on accordingly. How did you start your new year

07.01.2022 So happy with my first attempt at making a coaster shingle a tile and alcohol inks plus stamps..... under the sea #selfcare #heartbasedholisticliving #wellness #happyplace #craft

07.01.2022 And the crochet addition continues. To fuel my passion I was gifted a large box full of yarn.

07.01.2022 Yes to this! By the amazing Brenna Quinlang

06.01.2022 We you discover you have chickens. This beautiful girl actually belongs to the next door neighbour. The last few days I have noticed she has been visiting my front yard for some free ranging.... Spoke to the neighbour, just to confirm where she lived. They were happy to let her roam and I was happy for her to visit. She is so cute, so I am enjoying some warm afternoon sunshine and watching her roam around my yard just being a chicken. #freepestcontrol #freerangechickens #permaculture #earthcare #peoplecare #fairshare #selfcare #community

02.01.2022 Last October I completed my first Permaculture Design Certificate with the amazing @eagleridge.permaculture. Having had a big picture and plenty of ever-changing element floating in my head for about 2 years, it was great to put something on paper to work towards. Today saw another element start to come to life as I marked out the physical space for one of the many new garden beds planned. I used some old chopsticks I had saved from past sushi meals and a brightly coloured r...ope I had lying around. My initial plan was for 2mtr diameter beds but I'm already thinking I'll need to make them a bit bigger. There's also 2 munchkins who can be both curious and destructive. They look sweet and innocent in the pictures but they can be downright rascals at times so to cater for their natures this, and most likely all the other beds, will be raised and "fenced".

02.01.2022 We all need to be reminded sometimes to be kind to ourselves. We can often get caught up in doing so much for those around us that we forget to fill our own cup to overflowing. Today I needed a reminder and thought others might appreciate one too. What is your selfcare go to? #health #wellness #heartbasedholisticliving #selfcare #selfcareseptember
