25.01.2022 How it all began....... 5 years ago about 3/4 months after having baby number 4 , I had a family event to go to, meaning dressing up not just hanging in my track pants and t shirt . As I had done no exercise of any kind since I started having children and really besides the odd walk or swim nothing much since high school . My weight had slowly started getting up but this time it was more, more weight (approx 100kg), more pain ( my knee, hips and lower back gave me... so much grief), more pelvic floor problems (the thought of sneezing or coughing brought true fear) and more anxiety ( this I have struggled with all my life but as my health deteriorated the anxiety became worse). Once I tried to find something nice to wear the tears started, nothing came close to fitting me, this was the moment of clarity that I needed to push me to start getting help for myself, I was blessed that my older brother Chris MacCabe was a fantastic Personal Trainer and agreed to help me ( as long as I listened being a little sister I didn’t do that a whole lot). From there I started exercise as per Chris advice as well as PT session with him and started making healthy food choices. I was very lucky to have such wonderful help and lost about 30kg and have kept it off. From this my love for fitness started. It’s not been smooth or easy as I had challenges with stomach separation and pelvic floor control but taking the advice from a qualified professional helped me do it the right way. The inspiration, support and guidance I got from my brother was what made me go to that next level and get my certification in Personal Training, I had this strong determination to help others as I was helped. I love the gift of helping others move without pain, feel confident and comfortable with themselves and gain strength and health again. This was my beginning, but I’m just getting started! See more
