25.01.2022 Change of season, change of diet. As the weather changes from hot summers to cooler autumn days, most people think about pulling out light sweaters, closed in shoes, maybe a jacket and a scarf, depending on your style and needs. With our wardrobe, we respond to the changes in seasons and temperature it makes sense to also do this with our food choices. . .... . #heidisherbalremedies #heidipamminger #wynnumnaturopath See more

19.01.2022 It’s not an extra strength support bra! It’s Alps water filter cartridges - on the right is the brand new one which is replacing the used one on the left - this one‘s showing signs of debris filtered out from our local tap water. And that’s just the first stage of filtration. I know which water I would rather drink!
19.01.2022 What is for us won’t miss us Natalie Miles ‘So You Think You’re Intuitive’ podcast, March 2021 I was struck by this concise and poetic statement. Sometimes we are pulled into thinking that we have to search and strive for what we want to achieve in our lives, creating stress and imbalance. The opposite and sometimes unfamiliar state to this is receiving, where we trust a higher order, to which we belong, in which we are recognised as having value and a purpose. Every d...ay of practice, I see women who try and do it all, and often achieve it, at a significant cost. In my later years now, I’m learning that endless striving deflates the soul and depletes the body. It simply cannot continue without a toll, unless we take time to replenish and relax and receive. There is a whole category of herbs aimed at allowing us to adapt to the stressors in our lives, to lift spirits, immune systems and energy levels. I love them dearly and use them frequently. But without changing the paradigm around which they are used, it sometimes feels like holding back the tide. So the simple sentence from this young lady will become a much repeated invitation to my clients to take some time, reassess and play. And then using Rhodiola or Siberian Ginseng or any of their cousins can allow us to experience joy and flow in the direction that is meant for us. ~ Heidi . . . #heidisherbalremedies #heidipamminger #wynnumnaturopath See more

Our dispensary includes Optimal Rx, Mediherb, Herbal Extract and PPC herbal tinctures. Services centre around individual consultations, which include diagnostic tools such as blood sugar measurements, blood pressure, tongue, nail and pulse analysis. Naturopathic consultations look at the whole person and involve nutritional counselling, lifestyle recommendations, functional assessment of every body system, health history. This is viewed in light of your health goals and desired outcomes, upon which an individual plan of herbal mixtures, teas and/or nutritional remedies is formulated. A big part of individual treatment is the space and time to learn who you are and what your goals are we take the time to listen and get to know you. Appointments are available Tuesday to Thursday. Friday morning is drop-in day, where we like to keep the doors open for any questions or off the shelf purchases you might have. We offer Oligoscan testing, which measures the refraction of light in the palmar tissues in response to a small beam of light. The way this photospectrometic light is analysed allows us to read the concentration of minerals and heavy metals in the tissue. Metatron Non-linear Scans are another service offered. This uses bioresonance or ultra sensitive magnetic resonance to determine states of health or dis-ease anywhere in the body. Food Detective is a IgG sensitivity test which can identify foods which trigger immune, digestive and other intolerance symptoms, affecting health and well-being. Blood typing involves a tiny fingerprick test to determine what your blood type is. This is necessary for the Oligoscan, but also useful in determining certain inflammatory predispositions. Dispensary Service: if you have an existing script and your practitioner would like you to fill this, our extensive dispensary is able to fill those scripts for you, at an arranged time

14.01.2022 ‘All healers are energetic healers, whether they know it or not. Because every health issue has a physical and an energetic component, even a simple physical treatment like bandaging a cut also impacts the body’s spiritual, mental, and emotional welfare.’ I wanted to give credit to this guide book, The Subtle Body, for all practitioners who have realised that the lines between emotional, physical and psycho-spiritual causes are often blurred causation and treatment theref...ore are multifaceted and one will affect the other. Cyndi Dale’s book is one I refer to often and I highly recommend it to anyone who is willing to look deeper into the nature of health, healing and what it is to be alive. Look for this book from @EssentialEnergyWithCyndiDale at good book sellers or listen to it on audio - I have both and refer to them often. ~ Heidi . . . #heidisherbalremedies #heidipamminger #wynnumnaturopath #feelbetterlivebetter #wynumm #bayside #Brisbane #wynnummanly #wynnumnaturopath #visitwynnummanly #shoplocalwynnum #herbalistshop #clinicalherbalist #medicalherbalist #herbalistlifestyle #healthhacks #letnaturein #herballiving #herbhealth #herbalist #healyourself #wellnesslifestyle #energetichealer #TheSubtleBody #CyndiDale #spiritualhealing #emotionalhealing

08.01.2022 Licorice root has a long history of medicinal use, and now promising new research indicates it may help improve the symptoms of Parkinsons disease. A recent do...uble-blind clinical trial had patients randomly given either licorice or placebo syrup twice a day for six months, and were then monitored for their Parkinsons symptoms. At the end of the study period, the group that received licorice showed considerable improvement in the ability to perform daily activities, as well as a significant reduction in tremors, and with no side effects reported. For patients struggling to manage Parkinsons symptoms, licorice could be the help necessary for some gentle relief. The power of plants as medicine is truly inspiring. 06.01.2022 The Food Detective Test is a world first in-clinic intolerance test developed by Cambridge Nutritional Sciences. A blood sample (finger prick) picks up the presence of IgG antibodies to specific foods which are produced in response to a food intolerance. Food Detective is a blood test for food antibodies (IgG) that can be conveniently used in the clinic of a health professional. You don’t have to send off a sample and wait weeks to receive results from a testing laboratory.... A small blood sample is taken from a finger-prick and in less than an hour, allows us to identify any foods to which you may have an intolerance. What I find most useful about this test is that it takes the guess work out of implementing a nutrition plan for a someone. They may know their digestion is not right, but are unsure as to which foodsd may be causing it. Like a bad relationship, we often have unhealthy attachments to certain foods you love cheese and dairy, but it doesn’t love you back. In fact, it may be the cause of your constipation or chronic sinus congestion. It is not always the most obvious foods that cause the issue though, so testing is quick, reliable and objective. I also appreciate the quick turnaround I can usually email the results to the client on the same day. Then we can get on with building a diet around their individual needs and improve their health The Food Detective test is available at Heidi's Herbal Remedies, book your appointment on 07-3396 2321 . . . #heidisherbalremedies #heidipamminger #wynnumnaturopath

05.01.2022 I love this anecdote from Barlow Herbals, almost as much as the herb theyre talking about: Lomatium During the flu pandemic of 1917-1918, the root came into extensive use by the two Washoe Indian tribes near Carson City, Nevada. Dr. E.T. Krebs Sr., the contract physician who was assigned by the U.S. government to the Washoe Indians, was dumbfounded to find that these two groups of Indians were free from respiratory illness and that no deaths had been attributed to the infl...uenza bug. This was especially amazing because both Indians and white people were dying like flies throughout the entire region, the nation and the world. Spotting the dried root hanging from their hogans, Dr. Krebs asked what it was and what its use was. He was told it was heap powerful medicine, and that it was used to prevent colds and the flu. He asked if he could try this medicine on some of his white patients and, after making a crude preparation and giving it to his non-Indian patients in San Francisco, he said, They just stopped dying. 02.01.2022 I know we have mostly seen this already, but great to share with winter approaching :) Thanks Biomedica! Low vitamin D status linked to COVID-19 infection and mortality Article Highlights ... A new study, published in the journal Aging Clinical and Experimental Research, has found an association between low average levels of vitamin D and COVID-19 mortality cases across Europe. Previous observational studies have reported an association between low levels of vitamin D and susceptibility to acute respiratory tract infections. Vitamin D influences the clinical course of patients with a respiratory infection, by up-regulating antimicrobial peptides and defensins that can lower viral replication rates and reducing concentrations of pro-inflammatory cytokines that produce inflammation. The current research compared average serum levels of vitamin D across 20 European countries with the rate of COVID-19 infection and mortality. The average amount of vitamin D in serum samples was (56 nmol/l), with serum values below 30 nmol/l deemed severely deficient. Countries such as Spain and Italy, which were found to have lower than average vitamin D levels than most European countries, have experienced high COVID-19 mortality rates. The study reviewed existing demographic data and found worryingly low vitamin D levels in the elderly, the group with the highest risk for morbidity and mortality with SARS-CoV-2. Vitamin D status is known to deteriorate with age, due to decreased sun exposure and cutaneous synthesis. Institutionalised elderly are particularly vulnerable, with more than 75% being severely vitamin D deficient. While the cross-sectional study has several limitations, it highlights the need for studies investigating vitamin D status and disease severity in COVID-19 patients. Ilie, P. C., & Smith, L. (2019). The role of Vitamin D in the prevention of Coronavirus Disease 2019 infection and mortality. Aging Clinical and Experimental Research, (0123456789), 16. https://doi.org/10.21203/rs.3.rs-21211/v1
