25.01.2022 At last a balanced article about the reality of the travel industry at the moment. #keeponpedalling

23.01.2022 Starting at Lake Rotoiti, winding its way 177kms down through the Buller Gorge, this is where the Buller River meets the Tasman Sea! #westportnz #bullerriver #nzroadtrip ... #travelmanagersaustralia #helenrolton_travelmanagers See more

23.01.2022 Today's inspiration for your New Zealand road trip. See the link below for a 4WD self drive back country itinerary, then get in touch for more information and to book your adventure

21.01.2022 New Zealands Otago Central Rail Trail is the original NZ Cycle Trail. The ride is 152kms long from Clyde to Middlemarch (or vice versa) with fabulous locally owned accommodation (like Wedderburn Cottages below) great country pubs, and alot of history along the way. I rode this Trail in 2019 and am booked to join a guided ride of the Trail again in autumn 2021 (with some add ons of the new rides in the area). Get in touch if youd like to join me! #OtagoCentralRailTrail #cyclingholidays #travelmanagersaustralia

21.01.2022 There are three scenic trains in New Zealand. Travel from Auckland to Wellington, across Cook Strait, Picton to Christchurch and through the Southern Alps to Greymouth. Maybe stop for a side trip to Hobbiton? Or whale watching in Kaikoura? Visit Marlborough's wineries? Get in touch to create an itinerary to suit. Email [email protected] or call 0402 844 720

20.01.2022 I spent the afternoon walking on the Heaphy Track, one of New Zealand’s Great Walks. The track is 82kms long and usually hiked over 4 days, through Kahurangi National Park (NZ’s second largest National Park), either independently or guided. It can also be ridden by moutain bike during winter. Wonderful walking amongst the Nikau palms, New Zealand’s only native palm! Get in touch if you’d like to join a guided hike!

19.01.2022 The Millenium Track is a short #mustdo walk through beautiful native bush beside the mighty Buller River, a great walk even on a wet day #purenewzealand #travelmanagersaustralia #whattravelmanagersknow ... #westportnz #kawatiri #helenrolton_travelmanagers #westcoastnz @ Buller River See more

19.01.2022 The Queen Charlotte Track, at the northern end of New Zealand's South Island, is 75kms long. It can be walked, lodge to lodge, combined with a kayak/walking combo or stay in one of the beautiful lodges and do day hikes/kayaks/sailing/fishing trips. If walking's not your thing there are water taxi's too. At the beginning or end I recommend an extra day or two to immerse yourself in Marlborough's wineries! If you're looking for a classic Kiwi outdoor experience, get in touch! Email [email protected] or call 0402844720

18.01.2022 Im planning The Great New Zealand Road Trip, for when we can. Comment below, what would you like me to include in the itinerary?

18.01.2022 It may not be possible for Victorians to head to the Top End before the wet season starts in 2020 but if you like the idea of outback bush glamping and the rush of an airboat tour through Darwins mangroves, get in touch to plan your 2021 holiday at home #holidayathome #explorethewild

16.01.2022 The best distraction in the midst of the chaos. Looking forward to doing the real @stadiumstomp in 2021

16.01.2022 The saying goes that travelling is about the journey, not the destination. The journey to Minaret Station Alpine Lodge in New Zealands Southern Alps, access by helicopter only, is the start of a magical experience!

15.01.2022 Who else uses solid beauty bars? I received a sampler box of these @ethiqueworld products at a @purenewzealand industry event a few years ago. This isnt a paid promotion but I love these products - apart from no longer using single use shampoo & conditioner plastic bottles - theyre great for travelling, stored in these cute little hemp bags from @sisterworks_inc. 15.01.2022 All the goodies are handmade onsite at @scarlett.and.co.nz. in #WestportNZ. Im too early for Yvonnes #delicious venison pasties today - made with local venison - so chose an afghan for morning tea. Are afghans unique to NZ? Located at the northern (warmer) end of the #greatcoastroad on New Zealands South Island, the Westport area punches above its weight for outdoor experiences like the #kawatiririvertrail (Scarlett & Co are just 5 minutes from the start) #westportnz ... #nzroadtrip #travelmanagersaustralia #helenrolton_travelmanagers #kawatiririvertrail #buller #westcoastnz See more

11.01.2022 One day, the AU/NZ bubble will happen. For inspiration, what's on and where to go in New Zealand, grab a coffee and flick through this magazine on a visual holiday. Then, when its time to go, get in touch and I'll put it all together to make sure your Kiwi holiday is the best it can be! #nzroadtrip #newzealand

10.01.2022 Ive lived in Aus for 20 years and a bit embarrassed to say Ive never made this classic Australian dessert - yet

10.01.2022 Continuing on from yesterdays post, Farewell Spit is a #mustdo extension when holidaying in New Zealands Nelson Tasman area .... Ride The Great Taste Trail, hike and paddle the Abel Tasman National Park then add on an adventure tour to Farewell Spit. Two weeks should be enough because then you can include the Ruby Coast Arts Trail! What a fabulous New Zealand adventure! Get in touch when the borders open to ensure you make the most of your time in NZ!

09.01.2022 Thanks for the #aroha and keeping the travel dream alive in Iso @exposure_downunder and @girlzwithbaggage

09.01.2022 Day 3 / 42 Ive had to move my backyard gym into the garage due to Melbournes inclement weather but thanks to my new at home workout from the wonderful Hannah @melbourneyogapilates Im doing ok! #stayhomestaystrong #staysaneduringlockdown ... #whattravelmanagersdo #travelmanagersaustralia #dreamingoftravel #washyourhands See more

09.01.2022 Today, 1st September, is the much anticipated first day of Whitebait Season on New Zealands West Coast. These tiny fish are caught in rivers up and down The Coast. Everyone has their own best recipe to cook them. I like them with an egg, a little flour, salt & pepper - simple! Fry them in little fritters and eat, usually with a squeeze of lemon. They have a delicate flavour and taste best if cooked as soon as theyre caught. These whitebait were just three hours from riv...er to plate #whitebait #westportnz #newzealand #whattravelmanagersknow #nzmustdo

08.01.2022 Todays care package from Josef Chromy Wines and Discover Tasmania arrived just in time to numb the pain of another 6 week lockdown in Melbourne. I promise Ill send my clients to beautiful Tassie soon, but I may need more supplies if Im locked down at home for another 6 weeks!

08.01.2022 A pleasant surprise walking in Lysterfield Park with a history lesson included. The last backyard walk for 42 days #staysafestayhome #washyourhands #lysterfieldpark ... #winterwalks #visitvictoria #travelmanagersaustralia @ Lysterfield Park See more

07.01.2022 I spent the day immersed in nature in the Oparara Basin, Kahurangi National Park. Good to travel with a guide to learn more about what I was looking at and listening to in the New Zealand bush!

07.01.2022 This may be my favourite itinerary to see as much of New Zealand as you can in three weeks. It's busy and active with options like hiking, biking, jet boating, swimming with dolphins and kayaking . First summer departure is 25 November and there are just 6 places left (maximum group size is 16)! If you don't have three weeks the itinerary can be done North or South Island only too. Get in touch for details and covid policy.

07.01.2022 Just 7 private villas, surrounded by beautiful New Zealand bush, overlooking the tranquil Maruia River, great food & hospitality. I’m missing it already, one night is not enough!

06.01.2022 While I'm hiding from the dreaded C germ, I've been busy chatting to the locals and sourcing more great New Zealand holiday ideas. Point Villas are an ideal location, on the shores of Lake Taupo, to explore New Zealand's Central North Island. Nestled in 25 hectares of native bush, you may not want to leave, but if you do, it's just a 90 minute drive to Hobbiton, 15 minutes to go jet boating at Huka Falls or just 30 minutes to one of my favourite geothermal parks in NZ, Orakei Korako. You can stay home, relax in the spa/pool, go bushwalking or fly fishing. Self cater or call in the chef, your choice! Get in touch for a memorable New Zealand getaway.

06.01.2022 This is the Maruia Falls. Just a 5 minute walk from the main Shenandoah Highway that links Nelson and Christchurch. The falls were created by the 1929 Murchison earthquake. Imagine that, they’ve only existed for 91 years

05.01.2022 Listen to Dr Ian Griffin, Astronomer and Aurora chaser, who, together with a photographer, will accompany you on the Southern Lights flights #auroraaustralis #travelmanagersaustralia

04.01.2022 A tempter for when the border opens

04.01.2022 The Abel Tasman National Park is one of my favourite places in all of New Zealand. The bush and walking trails come down to the water and the water is perfect for sea kayaking and swimming. There are water taxis operating all day so you can go for a day or a week (a weeks better!) Im dreaming about taking my friends and family to Abel Tasman National Park for a covid free holiday - one day!

03.01.2022 Still dreaming of travelling, dont dolphins make you smile

02.01.2022 A New Zealand Television Station had a competition for the best town in NZ. Lots of kids made amazing videos about their home town in NZ. The winners got to spend a week in Hokitika, a small town on the West Coast of the South Island courtesy of West Coast, New Zealand . Youll see they had a great time , lifes about family and experiences - even better when there are family experiences!

02.01.2022 A day to celebrate I started my Travel Industry career 32 years ago today, 08/08/88! This photo was taken on my first famil, a @trekamerica camping trip that included Disneyland, a day trip to Tijuana, camping in @yosemitenps, 99c all you can eat breakfasts in Las Vegas and fun on the cable car in San Francisco. Aaah, those were the days #helenrolton_travelmanagers #travelmanagersaustralia #trekamerica

02.01.2022 Day 2/42 days of lockdown Id registered before the latest lockdown but the timings perfect for the challenge of climbing 25000 stairs in the virtual @stadiumstomp - and it will keep me sane. These steps are my stadium, 35 steps up, 35 down, 20 minutes = 2800 steps. The Gabba challenge of 5000 steps Next challenge 6000 steps for The Adelaide Oval badge.... #virtualstadiumstomp #staysaneduringlockdown #travelmanagersaustralia #stepchallenge

01.01.2022 I went bush with Outwest Tours yesterday in their sturdy unimog, never a dull moment

01.01.2022 This was fun! Buller Canyon Jet is located on the Buller River, near Murchison (South Island NZ). Mark, the owner and driver, is a local, an authentic Kiwi bloke with a great sense of humour. The fun starts with accessing the wharf - over the swingbridge and apart from the spins and bumps and wind in our faces racing along the spectacular Buller River, we stopped at the waterfall that marks the epicentre of the 1929 earthquake - there’s gold in the Buller too. Being based ...in NZ for an extended period has enabled me to explore the region in depth, which my clients get the benefit of when they travel here, but it’s also allowed me to support local tourism, meet local tour operators and hear their Covid stories. Mark’s business is usually 70% overseas tourists so for Kiwis reading this post - support local businesses and go jetboating when you’re road tripping up or down the Buller Gorge! For followers outside of NZ, add this to your itinerary when you can come to NZ! This trip is excellent value for money - the adult cost is NZD125 - we were on the water for 80 minutes, it’s advertised as 40 minutes but I think Mark enjoyed having us as much as we enjoyed being there! #bullercanyonjet #travelmanagersaustralia #jetboatingnz #bullergorge #bullerriver #bullerriverswingbridge #nzmustdo #nzroadtrip #nelsontasmannz
