25.01.2022 I don't know how many feral cats we might have locally, but I wish my neighbour's cat didn't keep visiting my yard.

24.01.2022 A serious unintended consequence of the generosity of people in response to the drought - spreading invasive weeds in hay bales from one area of the State to another.

20.01.2022 A very interesting bulletin from Save Our Flora, especially in regards to whether Botany Bay has been 'robbed' of its original flora https://saveourflora.weebly.com//47983599/sofbulletin35.pdf

20.01.2022 Tuesday, 1 September 2020, is celebrated in Australia as Wattle Day. Traditionally, it was a day to wear a sprig of wattle. When I was a child in NSW, it was on 1 August, but this changed on 23 June 1992 when the Governor-General Bill Hayden declared that 1 September should be observed as National Wattle Day in all Australian States. There's plenty of wattle in flower around Helensburgh now. Why don't we all wear a sprig of wattle to celebrate not only Wattle Day but the first day of spring! https://resources.austplants.com.au//wattle-day-why-is-it/

19.01.2022 Keeping cats indoors protects pet cats from injury, avoids nuisance behaviour and prevents unwanted breeding. And they live up to four times longer than pet cats allowed to roam freely.

13.01.2022 The Helensburgh Glowworm Tunnel is closed.

08.01.2022 Please sign this petition to help protect our native flora and fauna in Kosciuszko National Park and our alpine areas.

06.01.2022 Have your say on the NSW Government's 'Plastics Plan'.

03.01.2022 Some suggestions for updating your garden that have ecological benefits.

03.01.2022 Let the NSW government know about your concerns regarding the amount of plastic pollution.

02.01.2022 Do you have knowledge of domestic (or feral) cats impacting on our local native wildlife? Have your say!

01.01.2022 The spread of new environmental weeds in an area happens slowly. Sometimes by the time you are aware of the problem, there's so much work to be done to eradicate them. If only we could stop them in the early days. Here is the latest environmental weed (once a garden plant) that is having a big impact locally. https://www.helensburghlandcare.org.au//weed-wise-arum-lil
