25.01.2022 Howdy Cubs - reminder email on the way but just in case you don't check your emails - we're at the hall tonight as per the program. We're going to give our snack cooking on the fire another go! Plan>Do>Review in action!
25.01.2022 Hello parents! Hopefully you recently received the email from our group chairman regarding the upcoming committee meeting. This is our first committee meeting for a while and we would be really appreciative if we could get some parents along to help support the group in our efforts as we can't do this alone. We will be meeting in the cafe/bistro area at the Tradies at 7.30pm on Wednesday the 11th of Nov. Hope to see you there.
23.01.2022 Joeys and Cubs: Reminder for this week - 18 March 2021 Joeys is NOT running this week (sorry Joeys!)... Cubs are at Hangdog climbing! I've received questions about siblings attending - they are welcome to attend BUT - please let me know via email if I need to book additional places and parents MUST stay to supervise siblings as they aren't covered by our insurance. Hangdog requires bookings and prepayment as part of their COVID management so let me know about any extra places required - both siblings and adults who want to climb. Thank you and see you Thursday!

Please see your emails for the link to the meeting or alternatively message me here and I'll get you the details. Regards Bruce

20.01.2022 LAST MINUTE CHANGE FOR TONIGHT - PLEASE READ We will be at the hall tonight! There's a big thunderstorm on its way right now and it will probably hit us between 7pm-8pm, so for safety I've had to make this last minute change.... -Bruce
17.01.2022 Hi there Cubs! See you at Hangdog at 6.30 families. We're still on because we are sensibly INSIDE. Thanks for signing the Operoo forms - please bring cash if you can for the climbing fees.... See you soon, Bagheera
16.01.2022 Good evening everyone - this is an important update in regard to our group, Given the current situation, announcements being made tonight and expected to be coming in the next couple of days the Leaders of 1st Helensburgh Scout Group think it is prudent to suspend all weekly meetings for the foreseeable future. This will mean that all Cub and Scout activities will no longer be going ahead for the remainder of this term.... We will re-assess the situation in the prior to Term 2 and look at alternative options if we can not continue in person meetings. Some groups are finding remote meetings to be working for them so we may try this out as an option. Stay healthy and I hope to see everyone again as soon as is feasible.
15.01.2022 What a fantastic day for a walk for the Scouts! We completed the Burning Palms Loop walk today. This walk is an 8.2km hike in just over 3.5hrs including a break for lunch. This walk has a difficulty grading of 4 according to National Parks and is classed as hard on Wildwalks. Everyone completed it successfully (including our wonderful parent helpers!) even if they were a little exhausted after the final climb back up from Burning Palms to the car park. We even brought the Group's mascot 'Joey' along for the trip who makes a special appearance in a number of photos. How many can you find him in?
15.01.2022 Hello Cubs and Joeys! This week we are at the hall doing some preparation activities for our campfire next week. Would it be possible to have at least one parent stay to help this week?... The following week (the last week of term - 1 April - we will have a campfire at Mt Keira from 5 - 8 pm. Joeys and Cubs will prepare their dinner and I'll email around the operoo form and a list of things to bring. See you at the hall on Thursday! Thanks, Bagheera
15.01.2022 Hi Scouts and Scout parents! We are moving our planned bike night at the bike park to next week. It looks a bit wet right now and its unclear how long the rain will last, so we are going to be having a regular night at the hall and we'll try again next week for a night at the bike park.... - Bruce

01.01.2022 Hi Scout Parents, Only a few weeks of term remain! A reminder that tonight Scouts are meeting at the netball courts. The Scouts will be (hopefully, if they can remember their knots!) building and testing some slingshots. If any parents who have completed their parent helper forms are available I would appreciate some extra supervision.... We didn't get very far with the billy cart build last week so I will probably arrange for a day during the holidays for anyone interested to come along and assemble it in preparation for the District Billy Cart Derby which will be held in early February at Bulli. See you tonight! -Bruce
01.01.2022 Scouts can join in too if they like!
