15.01.2022 Neighbourhood Watch in its traditional sense meant catching up and getting to know your neighbour. It involved regular meetings of the community. Our world has changed and Neighbourhood Watch now fights with everything else for peoples attention. So at last nights meeting we decided to put it out to the Helensvale Community to let us know what they would like Neighbourhood Watch to be. To get some ideas of how we can still be an active part of our community. Yes we put on the... Helensvale Halloween Hunt, but is that all we do or can we do more. We invite everyone to comment below we welcome all feedback. It could be how often we come together, what time works best for people, who you want at the meeting we currently have William Mark QPS at meetings. Please feel free to put in any thoughts you may have.
09.01.2022 We have had many people questioning whether the Halloween Hunt will be happening again this year. We simply did not have enough volunteers to help with the event. Sadly our number at Helensvale Neighbourhood Watch have been reduced this year due to work commitments and people selling up and moving out of the area. At the moment we do not even know if we have the numbers to keep Neighbourhood Watch Helensvale going. ... We are deeply saddened by this, we understand that people have busy lives and volunteering or being apart of a community group is not on everyones priority list. We get it. We all have families of our own so we understand.
05.01.2022 Some of my favorite - Our Halloween Event is for young and young at heart........ a special thanks not only to all the Neighbourhood Watch Volunteers for the months of preparation that goes into this event but also to the Queensland Police Service for their continued support and the Lions Club of Helensvale who put on the Sausage Sizzle each year. Also a massive thank you to William Owen-Jones Division 2, Gold Coast, Mark Boothman MP, Theodore, Stuart Robert MP, who without their financial support this event could not happen PLUS an extra special thank you to Jon & Robyn Fidden - Fidden Realty, and Mortgage Choice Helensvale who not only help out financially but are also involved physically each year, from planning meetings to the actual event - two Helensvale businesses that really know how important community is.
