25.01.2022 THOUGHTS // Destination social media marketing is hard work. You may think its just sharing pretty pictures but theres *so* much more to it than that. Do you understand the region? Do you know the market? Can you respond quickly, and knowledgeably, enough to convert the traveller? A regrammed photo with location as a caption is 2015 style thinking.... But its not just about the content - its the community too. Successful accounts know theres conversation needed - engagement goes beyond a simple reply.

25.01.2022 THE PULSE // Back on 9 News Perth this afternoon for The Pulse. I do love these segments and its always great fun to appear with Nic from Media Stable. We rarely talk social media, but instead discuss the latest hot topics. Its great tho as I get to have a laugh and build up confidence with speaking from the cuff and sharing my opinions.

24.01.2022 HISTORY // Ive traveled extensively in the Wheatbelt and stayed at the hotel in New Norcia Monastary several times. Im sad to hear that this part of WA history has shut it doors - the local pub tells a story that cannot be replicated.

20.01.2022 TRAVEL // Oh San Diego. Id forgotten how much I loved you. The last time I was here would have been sophomore year of college, running amok with my best friends in La Jolla, or passing through on the way to Tijuana. Oh those were the days. ... Very very hazy days. USC #fratlife . Now I return for #SMMW20 and I couldnt be more excited. This conference has been on the bucket list for a few years. I love the global community of colleagues Ive been able to make through #CMworld and I cant wait to reconnect this week with many of them, and of course put new faces to those I follow online. The world gets smaller and smaller every day. I cant wait to see what the next few days brings. Thank god for @VirginAustralia upgrades.

Im not the most voracious reader, but I do try to get at least one new book in a month. Never fiction, always business it would seem, but Im ok with that. Im sure my creative side would benefit from a spot of fiction, but the time for dreaming has been limited in recent months. What are you currently reading? Any suggestions I need to check out?

17.01.2022 Get this girl a drink! The chaos is turning up. New changes in Facebook shouldn’t surprise me, it changes regularly. The hack was a surprise tho It’s the new stats to memorise and comprehend. The typical user now spends roughly 15% of their waking life using social platforms ... But wait. It gets better. People now spend an average of almost 2 hours per day on social platforms. Added together, this means that the world now spends more than 10 billion hours per day using social media, which equates to more than 1 million years of human existence Yeah. 12.01.2022 SPEAKING // I need to work on my facial expressions. I give *absolutely* everything away. Then again, theres never ever any doubt of exactly what Im feeling or thinking! I have watched and participated in so many webinars this week. But theres nothing like the real thing.... Zoom just doesnt have the same tactile feeling. My dad jokes dont land and my crazy expressions are lost. I miss rooms full of people.

06.01.2022 OPTIMISM // Far out its tough at there at the moment. So much uncertainty, so much confusion. I feel like my anxiety has anxiety. I know that we will get through what ever is coming our way, and we will hopefully all be better people for it. Perhaps a few priorities will be reset. Whilst there is so much crazy out there I also keep hearing stories of neighbours looking after neighbours and banding together where possible. I know those in my industry are suffering, its debil...itating and something we never could have planned for. Our events will come back, I continue to hope we will weather the storm. 05.01.2022 WORK // Perth is my jam. Straight up hard back into workshop mode this week. Two full days of tourism and a half day of SMPerth and Im shattered. My feet are killing me. Im losing my voice. BUT. I am so happy. So so happy. Teaching people about social media is so much fun. Interacting with different businesses, different people, different dreams. I love it. Im doing what Im meant to be. Its beyond satisfying to know that.... And I get to live here. In Perth. The greatest city Ive ever had the chance to call home. Life. Is. Good. #happytexan
