22.01.2022 Ever borrowed a mug from our mug library?!? Sometimes they get borrowed for an hour, sometimes a day, a week, and even a month! But they always find their way back ... Each time you use one, it means one less takeaway cup in landfill - did you know that in Australia alone 1 BILLION take away cups end up there every year! (No they are not recyclable OR compostable despite what you might be told) So, next time grab a mug from our #muglibrary and tag us when you find yourself somewhere weird or wonderful enjoying your cuppa This one found its way up to the perfect rock / viewing platform

22.01.2022 We have been so blown away by the kindness, courage and community spirit that we have been treated to both down here at Narrawallee Inlet and up at our property @thebarnontheridge We had owned The Barn for 3 weeks when the Currowan fire started. Since then we, like so many others have been living with close calls and evacuation warnings. Always keeping up on news, apps and of course the wind. It was back in early December that we first made the difficult decision to evacuate.... It was the beautiful Jenny from @oldschoolhousemilton who opened up her heart and her home to us, and so many others. Countless times we have said to each other that the great silver lining to this strange and terrible time has been the community reaching out and supporting one another. The RFS have done and continue to do an incredible job protecting lives and property. But with the scale of these fires there are simply too many properties at risk for our volunteers to be everywhere at once. This is where our unsung heroes have leapt into action. Our friends, families and neighbours have been stepping up to the front line with their own water carts, trucks and equipment and without whom who knows how many more homes and lives would be lost. Down here at Narrawallee Inlet, weve been doing our best to offer a small slice of normality to the locals, holiday makers, and evacuees, all trying to make the most of a difficult situation. We are now starting to see the many beautiful locals and tourists actively investing in the local community by supporting local businesses and by returning to to area with their families. This is so important for the local businesses who are counting on the income from this time to see them through the year. So when we look at all the destruction, tragedy and grief around us, we also see the community coming together and we know that we will see each other through

10.01.2022 Almost two years ago, during our first summer exploring the south coast, we stumbled upon this little blue and white caravan, Huey. Owning a rolling bar was an idea we’d previously toyed with, then forgotten about, so after considering all of the reasons we shouldn’t buy Huey, we did it anyway! We called him our ‘jump off point’. He was the opportunity we needed to break away from our ‘real lives’ and begin to shape a life that we always imagined we might be lucky enough to ...live. Huey has since become our pride and joy (people legitimately ask whether we are talking about the caravan, or our child ). He literally changed the game for us. Through Huey, we’ve met some of our favourite people in the world and created community for us and others wherever he found himself. While we can honestly say that we’ve loved every single coffee poured, cocktail shaken, morning chat, and smile shared, we also have to say that the time has come for our favourite little caravan to change the life of someone else. We just don’t quite have the time to give Huey the attention he deserves anymore (neglected first child ). And SO, with a couple of heavy hearts, it’s time for us to let him go. Fortunately, we’ve found the perfect person to give him love and care he deserves and take him to all new heights! @alyshabindley will be taking over as owner of @hellohueycaravan from November 1, and we have no doubt they’ll do great things together SO, if you’re around next Saturday, be sure to swing by the inlet for a farewell cuppa if not, be sure to give us a wave as you pass us in the slow lane If you made it this far, well done!! Also, big shout out to Pappa Bear @bruce.tippett.1 for loaning us his Jeep to haul Huey up to the Blue Mountains. Our little Beatirice most cerntaily would not have coped after getting lost in the fog on a rutted out 4WD track at 1am this morning
