18.01.2022 Cairns, Queensland, Australia - Several police officers have helped discover a stash of Cannabis behind a false wall, as Queensland police conduct a crackdown on Cannabis. Queensland police completed a three-day operation last week, carrying out search warrants on properties in Gordonvale and Edmonton. Police seized a total of 54 Cannabis plants as well as an undisclosed amount of dried Cannabis. Officers also discovered an elaborate hydroponics setup hidden in a bunker locat...ed behind a false wall in a garage. Twelve people were taken into custody as a result of the raids. A 46-year-old man was charged with producing and possessing dangerous drugs and other drug offences in connection with the Gordonvale property. He is expected in Cairns Magistrates Court on 16th December. Eleven other people were issued with a Notice to Appear on 32 charges including charges of producing and supplying dangerous drugs and equipment. Police will continue their investigations. Police published a video of the bunker raid on Facebook, which (as usual) was met with criticism from the public. One commenter noted: "All the plants fully grown in this video would barely produce more than a couple of pounds. The whole police operation would have cost more than the street value of the weed". 18.01.2022 VOTE 1 the Legalise Cannabis Qld Party 31 October 2020

18.01.2022 Queensland, Australia - Tuesday, 15 September 2020, 09:30 am Gympie Court House Legalise Cannabis Queensland (LCQ) candidate for Nanango, Maggie O'Rance, is now twice a victim of the system that arrests elderly infirm patients for possessing a minuscule amount of Cannabis used to relieve their suffering. For those of you who may not be familiar with her "criminal history" ... this is her second turn around on the Cannabis 'mulberry bush' for seeking relief from her crippling ...chronic pain. Last year charges were finalised for the same offence. There was no penalty and no conviction recorded. Maggie is hopeful that the charges might be dropped this time, should common sense prevail. Otherwise taxpayers will foot the bill for police hours and administration and court costs again ... for 0.5 g of Cannabis! Is this really in the public interest? Do you as a taxpayer think the police are justified in wasting your hard earned money in this way? Maggie believes not. She cannot afford legal products, like so many others in this state AND she is angry. She wants these laws to change. If you believe the laws are unjust and this case, and many more like it, are a waste of police and court resources then please support Maggie by coming along to Gympie Court, financially supporting her political campaign or becoming a volunteer on LCQ Team O'Rance. If you can help please contact Maggie via phone or email. She would certainly love to hear from you. https://www.facebook.com/events/749852549127398 See more

13.01.2022 Legalise Cannabis Queensland Party About the Intending Candidates ( 15 nominations so far (y) ) Meet the people who are intending to nominate as candidates for Legalise Cannabis Queensland Party and run for the state Election in October 2020. We are hopeful, this time round for a voice (or two) on the cross bench along with other minor parties and any Independent who supports Cannabis law reform. With a seat on the cross bench comes the opportunity to present a private membe...rs bill that would be written in consultation with the people; and with the help of the cannabis community lobbying other MPs to support the bill, who knows what might be possible. When it comes to other State issues, if elected our Candidates will bring the conversation to the community via newsletter / email and or social media platforms and will ask what The People think about the issue; engage in some debate with Party members and the community, where the elected member will vote / speak on behalf of the majority opinion voiced by The People. Candidates, if elected will also have electorate specific issues to deal with, so their Facebook pages will stay live and we encourage both Party members and the general community, to contact an elected Member with any concerns, information or advice on electorate related matters. Stay tuned, more Candidates coming soon! https://legalisecannabisqld.org.au/our-candidates/ See more

12.01.2022 Queensland: Sign to STOP Cannabis Arrests and Prosecutions ... 9,591 have signed. Let’s get to 10,000! Medical Cannabis Advisory Group QLD and MCUA Australia Inc. OUR CHANGE.ORG PETITION LETTER TO DECISION MAKERS Cannabis arrests and prosecutions are Not in the Public Interest, therefore we request the following: 1. The Queensland Police STOP Cannabis Arrests.... 2. The DPP and Police Prosecutions to withdraw charges against 67 year old Maggie O'Rance and ALL of the other patients and carers who are currently being prosecuted for cannabis charges in Queensland courts. 3. We also want cannabis to be treated as a health issue and NOT a criminal issue and request the Queensland Government to make urgent changes to the Drugs Misuse Act and Regulations to allow for the following: * Possession of 50 grams of cannabis; and * Permits to grow up to 6 cannabis plants in flower; and * Lab testing of our own cannabis and cannabis oils and tinctures; and * State licences for not for profit organisations and Queensland registered businesses to cultivate, manufacture and supply safe and affordable cannabis products within Queensland ... Queensland consistently leads the nation with the highest number of cannabis arrests in the country (30.7%). The Illicit Data Report for 2016-17 reported there were 23,836 cannabis arrests in Queensland, with over 90% of cannabis arrests being consumers - patients, carers and other cannabis consumers, and NOT the drug traffickers who were the objective target of the Drugs Misuse Act 1986. 09.01.2022 To all HEMP Party members - Membership Review 2020 If you are a member of the HEMP Party you're vital for us. The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) is checking our validity as a party yet again. It’s a standard routine they do regularly to all parties who don’t have a member of parliament. We have to send the AEC a list of at least 500 members and they will then check some of them to make sure we haven’t taken names out of the phone book! If you are contacted by the AEC, ...we need you to just confirm that you are a member of the HEMP Party. To help us send them a list of members who we can rely on to confirm their membership, would you please reply to this message confirming you are one who will. There’s a summary of the AEC rules here: hemp.org.au/join/periodic-reviews Staying Determined We are in an extraordinary moment in history with Corona as well as Cannabis in Australia and never was it more important to have a voice for the average toker against the government’s plans to control the supply of medicine. We need to be allowed to grow our own personal supply and authorities are flat out trying to stop that happening. I have seen with my own eyes how legal regulated Cannabis is simply no big deal for the general population The only people stopping it in Australia are vested interests, like Big Pharma and the police. It’s a good time to ask your local MP’s to ease up, like they have in Canberra. Cannabis is our medicine of choice, in states of America and Canada they have deemed supplies as essential along with other foods and medicines during the pandemic. Keep the HEMP Party registered for the next election Please confirm you will respond to the AEC if they contact you. Reply to the HEMP Party member's email with; ‘put me on the list’ Thank you for the continuing support. Yours sincerely, Michael Balderstone HEMP Party President PS. 07.01.2022 Mackay, Queensland, Australia - On 27 March, detectives from the Moranbah Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) intercepted a vehicle travelling west along the Peak Downs Highway, between Moranbah and Clermont. After intercepting the vehicle, the vehicle and driver were detained and a search was completed of the vehicle. During the search, detectives allegedly located a large sum of money and a total of 3.74 kilograms of cannabis which had been divided into 13 packages. As a re...sult of this search, a 60-year-old Eimeo man was arrested and charged for possessing dangerous drugs, schedule two drug quantity of or exceeding schedule three, supplying dangerous drugs, possess anything used in the commission of crime defined in part two and possession of property suspected of being proceeds of an offence under the Drugs Misuse Act. Detective Sergeant Daniel Feldman said that this was a great outcome from information received anonymously through the community which allowed police to take action against a drug related crime. These crimes have a detrimental effect on our community and will not be tolerated Detective Sergeant Feldman said. The man will appear in the Moranbah Magistrates Court on 30 July. See more

05.01.2022 About the LCQ Party Many people in Australia believe that Cannabis law reform is (or should be) a federal issue. The People of Australia petitioned the Federal ...government in 2018 for a plebiscite to be held at the 2019 Federal Election, to gather public opinion on the question of legalising Cannabis. It was signed by 13,000 people in just one month. Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt responded, stating clearly that: The (LNP) Government does not support legalising Cannabis for recreational use but notes that issues relating to prohibition legislation deregulation and decriminalisation of Cannabis are primarily the responsibilities of the states and territories. This left no doubt that we would need to attack this issue at a State level. In Queensland too much public money is being spent for too little return on failed drug policy. This is reflected in the Illicit Drug Data Report 2016/17 which states that nationally, consumer arrests continue to account for the greatest proportion of Cannabis arrests at 92%. Of that national total, Queensland consumers account for 29%. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, illicit drug offences remained the most common principle offence in 201718 for offenders in Queensland. More than one in four offenders proceeded against by police had a principal offence of Illicit drug offences. LCQ aims to turn that around ... The LCQ Party believes that Cannabis law reform does not have to be complicated and the Grape Theory forms the basis of how we will go about making the necessary reforms at a State level. The Grape Theory Treat Cannabis like grapes. You can grow as many grapes as you want, no licence. You can make as many of those grapes as you want into wine, no licence. You can share that wine with your friends and family, no licence. HOWEVER the moment you want to sell some of that wine you require a licence and to show quality control and safety for human consumption and you pay the appropriate fees. Now that you have a REAL choice in Queensland please make sure you are enrolled to vote and your details are up to date! 03.01.2022 Legalise Cannabis QLD (Party) - A better quality of life for all Queenslanders This weekend the LCQ (Party) held a successful coast run to Central Queensland ...with stops along the way at Maryborough, Bundaberg and Rockhampton to launch campaigns for several candidates and with nine more people expressing interest in becoming candidates, it’s all really GREAT news! Most LCQ candidates are people on a low income, fighting for a better deal for all of YOU. So for those of you who want to help but don’t know what to do, this is your chance! Please consider a donation to the Party so we can help the candidates with their nomination fee ($250/candidate). If you want to be able to enjoy Cannabis socially without the threat of being raided and dragged through court, LCQ agrees, the authorities should treat buds like beer. And for those wanting to open up the hemp industry, in regional areas especially, LCQ wants to help with the post COVID recovery by getting rid of the bureaucratic red tape. So please help us help you! Consider making a donation of ANY amount, as it all adds up! You can use one of various payment methods available at https://legalisecannabisqld.org.au/ . Buying a supporters T’shirt (with a QR code linked to the ongoing parliamentary petition on the back and the LCQ Logo on the front) will be for sale from early this week (the petition will remain open for several months after the election). 02.01.2022 Illicit drugs are now being detected at a much greater rate than alcohol in drivers and motorcyclists who were killed or injured on Australian roads. Drugs contribute to about one in five road fatalities in NSW and increased drug use by drivers is a trend across the world as the rate of drink driving has fallen. The increased rate of drug use by motorists was a cause for concern, which requires increased testing and more drug counselling services, says road safety expert Dr M...Continue reading

01.01.2022 Queensland, Australia TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland Queensland residents draws to the attention of the Ho...use: The objective of the Drugs Misuse Acts is to target drug-traffickers, however over 90% of Cannabis arrests are patients, carers and other consumers, adversely impacting their well-being, employment, education and travel; and that "medicinal Cannabis" laws have failed patients, as witnessed in the Senate inquiry into the Barriers to Medical Cannabis. The inquiry recommendations directed toward the States, have not yet been acknowledged or actioned by the Queensland Parliament. Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to address these injustices by amending laws to ensure consumers have safe access to Cannabis via: - an immediate moratorium on arrests for personal use; - the removal of restrictions on the cultivation/production, possession and supply of Cannabis plants, Cannabis, cannabinoids via amendments to Drugs Misuse Regulations 1987, Schedules 2 and 3; and the Health {Drugs and Poisons) Regulation 1996, 270A; the making of new regulations to allow consumers to cultivate six plants in flower at any one time and possess Cannabis, upon the person accepting all risks and responsibilities for usage and storage of their Cannabis; - a two year trial, to be undertaken to assess the outcomes of decriminalising cannabis including harms or benefits of a licensed, taxed supply chain with home grow option; and the establishment of an independent body inclusive of all stakeholders, responsible for overseeing all aspects of regulating Cannabis and hemp, including issuing licences for microbusinesses and non-profit organisations to produce affordable Cannabis for local supply within Queensland. https://www.parliament.qld.gov.au//petit/petition-details
