24.01.2022 Legalise Cannabis QLD (Party) - A better quality of life for all Queenslanders This weekend the LCQ (Party) held a successful coast run to Central Queensland ...with stops along the way at Maryborough, Bundaberg and Rockhampton to launch campaigns for several candidates and with nine more people expressing interest in becoming candidates, it’s all really GREAT news! Most LCQ candidates are people on a low income, fighting for a better deal for all of YOU. So for those of you who want to help but don’t know what to do, this is your chance! Please consider a donation to the Party so we can help the candidates with their nomination fee ($250/candidate). NO FEE = NO CANDIDATE If you need the cost of prescribed medicine lowered, LCQ is pushing for government to implement a compassionate access scheme. If you want to be able to enjoy Cannabis socially without the threat of being raided and dragged through court, LCQ agrees, the authorities should treat buds like beer. And for those wanting to open up the hemp industry, in regional areas especially, LCQ wants to help with the post COVID recovery by getting rid of the bureaucratic red tape. So please help us help you! Consider making a donation of ANY amount, as it all adds up! You can use one of various payment methods available at https://legalisecannabisqld.org.au/ . Buying a supporters T’shirt (with a QR code linked to the ongoing parliamentary petition on the back and the LCQ Logo on the front) will be for sale from early this week (the petition will remain open for several months after the election). So, it’s really up to you guys.

22.01.2022 But Bundaberg handed another party its strongest results in the state. Legalise Cannabis Queensland candidate for Bundaberg, Ian Zunker, garnered the party's biggest share of an electorate in the state, with 5.42 per cent of the Bundaberg first preference vote. A man in a khaki collared shirt and a green baseball cap sits in front of a sugar cane crop with his dog.... Mr Zunker said some voters remained frustrated with the major parties. "People are pretty annoyed with the way things have gone in the last term of government what the Labor party did (by lowering) Paradise Dam; that was a big one there," he said. "And alternative medicine is being sought after. Opiates are doing big damage for people in the community, and people are looking for different options, which are out of reach for many people financially." Bundaberg holds one of the country's highest unemployment rates at 11.2 per cent for the month of September, as well as an older population, with a median age of 44 well above the national median age of 37. Mr Zunker, who uses cannabis oil himself to treat multiple sclerosis and chronic pain, said voters had told him strict drug testing regulations across industries like agriculture discouraged them from accessing medicinal cannabis. He said he planned to run again in 2024. https://www.abc.net.au//queensland-election--bund/12852906

21.01.2022 The point of this blog it to provide a visual walkthrough of some of the major steps of how a new build, pine 'stick frame' hempcrete house goes together. It's not a definitive guide, but an indicative peek into what you might be in for if you undertake such a unique and rewarding build ...

19.01.2022 The count so far in Queensland. Still only 2 thirds to 3 quarters counted in various electorates but that gives us a good idea of the vote and the Cannabis party has done pretty well, especially for a first time effort and a single issue party at that, it's really an achievement coming out ahead of the Green's, One Nation, the Australia United Party and the Katter Party, in some electorates. Well done to all those who contributed to the Cannabis Party and the 2 Cannabis Indep...endents who took part in the election. 17.01.2022 Legalise Cannabis QLD (Party) From 1 pm TODAY, watch Laura Barnard’s live campaign launch from Rockhampton! https://www.facebook.com/events/1301480683532174/ Laura Barnard, Legalise Cannabis QLD (LCQ) candidate for Rockhampton, is a Queenslander born and bred, with strong family ties to Rocky. She has qualifications in business, community services, tourism and events and is looking to study justice management online. On Saturday 26 September, from 1pm, watch the live-streamed... launch of her tilt at ‘rocking the boat in Rocky’, standing up for full legalisation of Cannabis for ALL its uses and ALL Queenslanders! In 2017, Ms Barnard suffered an injury to her right foot leaving her with arthritis and nerve damage, for which she faces many more surgeries. It is a large part of why she believes legalising Cannabis is the best way forward to treat the many in the community living with unresolved medical conditions. Ms Barnard herself is yet to find a reliable and safe treatment for her continuous pain. She felt compelled to run in the election because, she said, It has made me really angry to see good people on social media saying they are having to turn themselves into criminals to get some kind of quality of life, even worse when they are doing it for their children and people they care about. I abhor the complete and utter waste of taxpayers money being squandered on victimless crime. I believe there are a lot of people in Rocky who share this sentiment. She believes legalising Cannabis for adult, personal use would allow patients who wish to access it safely via home grow or registered dispensaries to sidestep the Government’s complicated and expensive prescription only delivery system. Laura grew up misinformed about Cannabis but has read a great deal of modern scientific and general research which have inspired her activism as she discovered the adaptability of the Cannabis plant and its many uses beyond the health benefits, including industrial uses, for food, clothing, bio-fuel, plastics and much more. As a mother and someone with a disability, she has noticed pathways in her neighbourhood are quite inaccessible for the likes of prams and wheelchairs. Her grandmother lives in a retirement village in Rockhampton and she has noticed a few issues she would like to see changed for the benefit of residents and the carers that work there too. On other State related matters, she has great concerns about child safety, domestic and family violence and has a passion for improving the current justice system. Regional development is also important to Laura and encouraging hemp farming and manufacturing industries would not only give the region a boost in jobs and prosperity but would also help clean up the soil and return farmland to productivity after being long saturated with chemical agents. You can help Laura make a difference by voting for her and the Legalise Cannabis QLD Party in October. See more

13.01.2022 How about some social justice reform? Then you might not need so many uniforms to force the community to be uniform. Legalize

13.01.2022 I haven't seen any comments in the media on the awesome result for the Legalise Cannabis party QLD. They performed consistently better than the minor parties and independent's yet that doesn't rate a mention. If you have seen anything, please feel free to post it here in the comments.

12.01.2022 Queensland, Australia VOTE 1 Legalise Cannabis QLD (LCQ) Party 31 October 2020 and Let Our People Grow (y) The war on drugs has been an abject failure world wid...e Queensland is no different. Millions of taxpayers dollars have been wasted on harm minimisation policies that have failed to reduce demand or supply. They have instead created harm. Cannabis offences have ruined the lives of too many young people in Queensland. Illicit drug offences remained the most common principle offence in 201718 for offenders in Queensland. More than one in four offenders proceeded against by police had a principal offence of Illicit drug offences. Growing and using a natural plant for personal use should not be a crime. We should be treating ‘buds like beer’. Policing, Justice, Law and Order Policy Statements There are too many inconsistencies in sentencing for Cannabis ‘crimes’. Legalising Cannabis for personal use to reduce wasteful spending on Cannabis related minor crime results in better use of police resources that will in turn reduce pressure on the court system. The choice to use Cannabis socially could reduce anti-social behaviour and domestic violence fuelled by alcohol abuse. On the whole, Cannabis users are less inclined towards violence. Given the freedom of choice, we would expect that anti-social behaviour, fuelled by alcohol and ice, would decrease with legalisation. Current drug driving laws are NOT about road safety and have had little impact on reducing the road toll. False positives are ruining lives as livelihoods. Presence does not equal impairment. There needs to be a defence created for medical use. Cannabis is a less HARMFUL choice as a recreational substance and taking it off the street creates demand for other more dangerous substances such as ice and heroin. https://legalisecannabisqld.org.au/party-policy/

12.01.2022 Hello hello hello to my loyal followers who have wondered whether I'd dropped off the face of the earth. To those who don't know, I've been in Germany caring fo...r my sister while she gets treatment for her secondary brain cancer. I have returned to be incarcerated in a lovely hotel room on the 15th floor with a beautiful ocean view and sealed windows. No fresh air. No walks allowed ever, unless you are really sick, and then the decision takes days. Then it's not outside, only a small area on Level 2. Still no smoking allowed. Smokers are forced to quit. No menu choices or timing of meals. All clothes to be washed in hot water - no sorting, no delicates. They can search my luggage for forbidden items - a spare cornavirus perhaps? No, things like cigarettes. So obviously, I was not allowed to have my inhaled cannabis therapy. So because of these non-justifiable restrictions, I am unable to have a legally prescribed medication. THE LAW NEEDS TO CHANGE!!!!!!! Please don't think that because you've heard little from me so far, that I have dropped the bundle. Quite the contrary. Family must come first, but I'm back. Well, nearly. So keep following, and while I'm in iso, I'll do some posts, maybe even a live thingy. I'm happy for you to send in any topics or questions you may want discussed. My major areas are medical and recreational cannabis, and farming hemp, but I can pretty much cover any topic from the seed to the patient. If I don't know the answer, I'll refer you to someone who can. I'm out of iso on the 17th October, and I'll be doing a mad tour of the towns in the Electorate of Southern Downs. Meanwhile, keep me busy online Cannabis users are lovely people, and this battle has been fought in the main by sick people and their carers. Now is the time to take over from us. You don't even have to support us publicly. All you secret supporters, now you have the anonymity of the ballot box. Use it for good, because remember, evil happens when good men do nothing. Because cannabis users are lovely people. We are a close community, despite our spats, and we have each other's backs. We will have YOUR back in parliament. Here's the gang cheering me up in iso: Love you guys See more

09.01.2022 Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia VOTE 1 Legalise Cannabis QLD (LCQ) Party 31 October 2020

08.01.2022 UPDATED Line-Up (y)

06.01.2022 Queensland, Australia VOTE 1 Legalise Cannabis QLD (LCQ) Party 31 October 2020 and Grow the Economy (y) Agriculture, Manufacturing, Job Creation and a Stronger ...Economy Policy Statements Encouraging farmers to cultivate hemp as a major renewable, sustainable agricultural resource that can feed people and value added industries will create jobs. Hemp will both complement and reduce the need for the more unsustainable and inefficient crops. Growing hemp for seed can double the income at the farm gate as (1) a primary food crop seeds and (2) the trash left behind after harvest (average 8 tons per acre) can be used as a second generation feedstock for making methanol. Existing infrastructure can be easily and cheaply converted to produce clean power without interruption to production, guaranteeing local jobs for those already in the industry with minimal re-skilling needed. The power produced will help Queensland become energy secure. The Federal government has an Emission Reduction Fund of around $200 billion available to all states for projects to produce low emission electricity. Major political parties are already onside with biofuel production. When the State is running on clean electricity, it will encourage industries to come to Queensland to manufacture their goods because they won’t get penalised for using electricity (carbon tax) thus creating more jobs. Hemp farming and associated bio manufacturing industries such as plastic and building materials would create jobs and economic growth in all sectors. Introducing start up assistance packages for the production and manufacture of hemp based products and encouraging new and innovative industries for Queensland would leave us less import dependent. Legalising Cannabis will also allow boutique Cannabis growers to produce ‘strain’ specific varieties for dispensary sales for medical and social use. Product manufacture of balms, edibles, vaporising products and fresh food would allow ‘smaller players’ to enter that market place and create jobs. https://legalisecannabisqld.org.au/party-policy/ See more

03.01.2022 Petition Details - Cannabis law reform Eligibility - Queensland residents https://www.parliament.qld.gov.au//petit/petition-details TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland. ... Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House: The objective of the Drugs Misuse Acts is to target drug-traffickers, however over 90% of cannabis arrests are patients, carers and other consumers, adversely impacting their wellbeing, employment, education and travel; and that "medicinal cannabis" laws have failed patients, as witnessed in Senate inquiry into the Barriers to Medical Cannabis. The inquiry recommendations directed toward the States, have not yet been acknowledged or actioned by the Queensland Parliament. Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to address these injustices by amending laws to ensure consumers have safe access to cannabis via: > an immediate moratorium on arrests for personal use; > the removal of restrictions on the cultivation/production, possession and supply of cannabis plants, cannabis, cannabinoids via amendments to Drugs Misuse Regulations 1987, Schedules 2 and 3; and the Health {Drugs and Poisons) Regulation 1996, 270A; > the making of new regulations to allow consumers to cultivate six plants in flower at any one time and possess cannabis, upon the person accepting all risks and responsibilities for usage and storage of their cannabis; > a two year trial, to be undertaken to assess the outcomes of decriminalising cannabis including harms or benefits of a licensed, taxed supply chain with home grow option; and > the establishment of an independent body inclusive of all stakeholders, responsible for overseeing all aspects of regulating cannabis and hemp, including issuing licences for microbusinesses and non-profit organisations to produce affordable cannabis for local supply within Queensland. https://www.parliament.qld.gov.au//petit/petition-details #auspol #Cannabis #LegaliseCannabisQLD

01.01.2022 Cairns, Queensland, Australia - Several police officers have helped discover a stash of Cannabis behind a false wall, as Queensland police conduct a crackdown on Cannabis. Queensland police completed a three-day operation last week, carrying out search warrants on properties in Gordonvale and Edmonton. Police seized a total of 54 Cannabis plants as well as an undisclosed amount of dried Cannabis. Officers also discovered an elaborate hydroponics setup hidden in a bunker locat...ed behind a false wall in a garage. Twelve people were taken into custody as a result of the raids. A 46-year-old man was charged with producing and possessing dangerous drugs and other drug offences in connection with the Gordonvale property. He is expected in Cairns Magistrates Court on 16th December. Eleven other people were issued with a Notice to Appear on 32 charges including charges of producing and supplying dangerous drugs and equipment. Police will continue their investigations. Police published a video of the bunker raid on Facebook, which (as usual) was met with criticism from the public. One commenter noted: "All the plants fully grown in this video would barely produce more than a couple of pounds. The whole police operation would have cost more than the street value of the weed".
