15.01.2022 JobKeeper Payment The government has announced a fortnightly payment of $1,500 (before tax) for employees of businesses affected by the ongoing impact of the Coronavirus. This payment is to ensure that employers are able to stay connected to their workers, and restart business quickly once the crisis is over. Payments will be made to employers from May, and will be backdated to 30 March 2020. 11.01.2022 Superannuation early release Individuals in financial distress as a result of the pandemic will be allowed to access a tax-free payment of up to $10,000 from their superannuation in 20192020 and a further $10,000 in 20202021. Eligible individuals will need to apply online to the ATO through myGov before 1 July 2020 to receive the payment for the 20192020 income year. TIP: Amounts withdrawn from super in this way will not affect any Centrelink payments.
