20.01.2022 The Hunters Hill Historic Society will have a table at the Henley Growers Market this Saturday 19th of December. Please stop and say hello to Karen and Mel! Interested locals and of course anyone that owns an historic house in the Hunters Hill area will no doubt know of the fantastic book produced by the society called THE GREEN BOOK. 2018 marked 50 years since the Hunters Hill Trust was formed. In honour of this anniversary the Hunters Hill Trust published a new edition of ...their key publication, Heritage of Hunters Hill (the Green Book). The Trust was grateful to the Office of Environment & Heritage for their support in this project with a Community Heritage grant. The Green Book has helped to protect many houses that faced unsympathetic development, and even demolition, since 1968. It has also raised awareness of the value of our built and natural environment. Some original photos of heritage homes altered by later modifications have been retained to reflect their historical importance. The Trust will have books available to purchase at the market. They make a perfect Christmas gift! The market will be situated on the green adjoining the Henley Green Community Garden next to Riverside Preschool on Saturday 19th December from 8am to 12 noon. We so look forward to welcoming you on the day to enjoy what is on offer and support these wonderful sellers and producers.
