25.01.2022 On Saturday, it was the B grade that were triumphant against the Colts in the latest contesting of the O’Brien Cup. The Colts batted first but lost wickets early and often before being dismissed for 163. Club legend Chris Spicer tore through the top and lower order snaring 4 wickets and had great support from Cam Forrest, Jake Holmes and Brodie Armstrong (2 wickets each). Laxon Matthew (24), Matty Klemke (45), Jack O’Brien (20) and Tim Lubke (20) made enough runs to keep the ...Colts total competitive. In reply, knocks from Skip (29), Tom Martin (17), Rory Doolan (28) and Steve Zweck (20) appeared to have the run chase well under control until Jordan Klemke bobbed up with 3 wickets to deliver a batting collapse that saw four wickets lost in the space of four runs! With the game on the line, Captain Kyle Dixon stood up to deliver his best ever performance of 41 not out including delivering the winning runs with a six. All told it was an exciting game played with fair spirit from the two teams. The club is proud of both sides and are delighted to see the cup awarded again.

20.01.2022 The O’Brien Cup is back! After a brief hiatus, the two Henty B-grade teams will battle it out for bragging rights and glory at Paech Oval this afternoon. All spectators welcome, feel free to call by and support the boys starting from 1PM this afternoon.

10.01.2022 How do you celebrate being the A-grade Man-of-the-Match? With a ripper photo in the paper of course! Dylan Hore continued his fine form with the ball by dismissing Holbrook danger-man Corey McCarthy but it was his 32 runs with the bat that was equally impressive in the 25-run win against Holbrook. Earlier, two 50-run partnerships between Shan (34) and Tom Newton (14), and Dylz and Narna (31no) set the platform for a defendable Swampies score of 6/150.... And defend it the bowlers did after some early Holbrook resistance. Dave White and Pants struck once each followed by the match-turning bowling of Dylz and Mannsy (2/16 off 8overs). There was another wicket for Shan before Nick Newton bowled with intelligence and skill to clean up the tail with an outstanding four wickets. It was another great team performance that rockets Henty to fourth on the ladder. It will be exciting to see what this team can achieve from here!

07.01.2022 The under 16 team is named and ready to take on Holbrook in the Grand Final this weekend. Despite the rain, Coach Dylan Hore put his charges through their paces with a high quality game of indoor cricket. He then gathered the troops and asked them to tell the team-mate sitting next to them what they liked most about them, what part of their cricket they’ve improved most this season, and why they want to win the GF. It was inspiring stuff - it hit us right in the feels. (I think that’s what the cool kids say!) Good luck fellas, you’re already winners in our cricket club’s eyes, now go and make it happen.
