Yu Fang is particul...arly interested in installations that respond to environmental issues. The large reflective water drop brings a focus to the importance of water in our community and pays homage to the water elements of Glenlyon with particular attention to community interaction at the Dam and Mineral Springs. The gold water droplet rings at the sculptures base draw reference from the gold mining era and the inclusion of Dja Dja Wurrung language acknowledges the Traditional Owners and their ongoing connection to the waterways. This artwork invites visitors to pause, appreciate and reconsider the contextual history and natural beauty, said Ms Chi.
