Any pain, swelling, or broken teeth are considered emergency cases. Sensitive teeth or bleeding gums are not necessarily emergency cases and can be treated once restrictions are lifted. ... On a positive note, people with well-controlled blood sugar levels have the same risk of gum disease as people without diabetes.
