25.01.2022 Do herbal teas really work or am I drinking colored water? . . Its a something I am often asked and a very valid question. .... . . Herbal teas are basically plant food infused in boiling water. The therapeutic benefits can be obtained from drinking the "tea", and sometimes, using it as a wash. . . Herbal teas are not a "miracle" fix it. If it is a health issue you are trying to address then herbal teas cannot be just an "add on" to what you are currently doing. Obviously whatever you are doing got to where you are now so changes have to be made. . To get any benefits from herbal teas will depend on a few factors. . . . Good hydration is important because nothing will work properly in a dehydrated body - that includes medications, herbal teas and even food will not be properly digested without sufficient water. Ensure you are drinking a minimum of 2 litres of filtered water a day. Drinking more than 1 cup of caffeinated drinks a day (coffee/black tea, cola drinks) is excessive and will minimise the effectiveness of any herbal blend. . . Diet will have a major impact. Meals that include lots of vegetables and fruit as snacks and eliminating sugar, dairy, wheat and caffeine make for a healthy digestive system and will ensure you get the best nourishment from herbs. . . Sometimes, the particular health issue customers are trying to relieve may be a side-effect of the medications they are taking. Chemical medications and their side effects must be considered when selecting a herbal blend. . . . To get a good account of the success of herbal tea blends, read what customers are saying about Herbal Teas Australia herbal teas on the Testimonials page on the website, www.herbalteasaustralia.com.au. . . . . 18.01.2022 Well good morning, dont look so sheepish!! Busy days at Sheepvention here in Hamilton and yesterday, had a great testimonial from Michelle from Nhill about the COUGH tea. . . She told me that 8 years ago she had a throat operation that went wrong and damaged her vocal chords.... I usually sound like I have laryngitis but since June I have been drinking the COUGH tea and my voice is so much better - Im serious! Usually I do speech therapy but the tea has improved my voice so much better. I am keen to see how it goes with the hay fever which we are all sufffering from with the canola crops. . . Michelle bought the EYES tea as the crop environment is affecting her eyes. I suggested she combine some of the EYES tea with the COUGH tea to drink. Setting aside a little of the EYES tea to cool and soak cotton balls to rest on closed eyes will help to sooth itchy and inflamed eyes. . . Thank you Michelle for taking the time to visit here at Hamilton from Nhill and coming to visit us and make us part of your health journey. . . . #healthylifestyle #herbalteas #hamilton #sheepvention #coughtea #eyestea #hayfever # See more

17.01.2022 CHILDREN and CONSTIPATION - I am often asked what tea do I recommend for children who are constipated. What I DONT recommend is the Herbal Teas Australia CONSTIPATION tea as that is formulated for adults. Read on to find out why. For children who have a constipation issue, I recommend the TUMMY tea to address digestion. It has the herbs Peppermint, Milk Thistle and Dandelion leaf. These herbs sooth the tummy and support the liver. Our liver is the organ producing our bil...e which is vital for healthy digestion. Healthy digestion includes our eliminations (bowel and bladder). . . Then I suggest getting some powdered Vitamin C and, depending on age, give the child 1/2 teaspoon mixed in water every hour or so until they have a bowel motion. The reason is this - Vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin which means our bodies do not store it and ideally we should get enough from our daily diet. When the body has enough Vitamin C, it will get rid of excess via the bowels. . ,. For children, it is a healthy way to move their bowels as well as boosting their immunity and antioxidants. . . Then, I would address the childs diet which is the cause of their constipation. Ensure they are drinking sufficient water (not sugar drinks) and having a healthy breakfast (not sugar laden box cereals with dairy milk). Rolled oat porridge with lots of fruit and berries is a suggestion. Drinking TUMMY tea (take it to school in a water bottle) and water should be their "everyday" drinks. . . . For adults with constipation, the CONSTIPATION tea with laxative herbs is the "go to". However, use the tea occasionally as it is vital that you address hydration and diet. Go to my Blogs on the website to read more about constipation. . . . In the Blog, I explain what is constipation (one or less bowel movements a day) and strategies to improve your digestion and eliminations. . . . Sign up for our monthly newsletter to check on our Diary Dates and our FREE gift deals. . . 17.01.2022 One question that keeps cropping up when I talk with customers is "how long should I brew the tea for?" . . I can answer this in 2 ways. Depending on the ingredients, tea infusions in a teapot usually takes about 5-10 minutes or a little longer if the ingredients include roots. That is so the boiling water can penetrate the harder parts of the plants.... . And yes, you do use boiling water. . . As for me, when I make a tea it can depend on a few things. . . If the Richmond footy team is playing and I am watching them on TV and I make the tea at half time, it will be the length of a footy quarter to brew. (usually 20 minutes unless there is time on) . If I am painting my nails, it will depend whether I do one or 2 coats of polish. Mmmm, perhaps 5 minutes. . . Sometimes, I make a tea, forget that I have and it might be an hour later before I get to pour and drink the tea. . . As you can tell, there are no hard and fast rules. The directions are a guide only but if you prefer a strong brew and let it steep for 15 minutes, thats OK. Less time if you like a weaker brew. . . You may prefer you tea cool or perhaps scalding hot, thats OK too. Really, the only way to get the full benefit of the tea is to drink it. Dont sweat the small stuff. . . I have detailed how to make tea and the significance of tea ceremonies on my website, www.herbalteasaustralia.com.au . . #herbalteas #wellness #wellbeing #healthylifestyle #lifeisgood #teatime #herbal #tealover #goodbrew #teaceremonies #teainfusions #looseleaf PC: herbalteauk See more

15.01.2022 Camellia Sinensis is an evergreen plant that is the herb from which all black and green teas originate. The leaves and buds are the plant parts used. Black tea is produced by drying the leaves and then roasting them. Green tea is the dry leaves. (Not roasted) Matcha green tea is made from covering the crop before harvest (the plants then over produce chlorophyll when deprived of sunlight so it it very high in nutrients) and then pulverising the dried leaves.... It is the tea used in Asian traditional tea ceremonies. Today, it is added to food and drinks - even ice cream! At Herbal Teas Australia, we have Sencha Green tea, Matcha Green, English Breakfast tea, Bergamot & Rosebuds (the Earl Grey tea) - we have a tea for everyone. I use the Sencha Green tea in the WEIGHT tea as it may stimulate the metabolism. Go to www.herbalteasaustralia.com.au and check out the full range. 14.01.2022 Mixing different tea blends is a really good idea. I am often asked whether you can mix some of my herbal tea blends together. It is usually the case when people buy several packets and then try to work out when to drink them. Let me give you some examples.... A customer, Belinda bought the WEIGHT tea and TUMMY tea and then later purchased the CALM tea and WINTER BLEND tea. She wanted to ensure she got the best results from her teas and wondered when was the best time to drink them. Another customer, Daniel, purchased the GOUT tea and has been drinking that each day and then purchased the FATIGUE tea. He asked about drinking the FATIGUE tea every so often. For Belinda, combining the WEIGHT tea and TUMMY tea is a great idea but she can also add some of the WINTER BLEND tea to the mix and drink it throughout the day. Drinking the CALM tea at night aids digestion (although this is not an issue for Belinda as she is drinking digestive teas during the day) and helps to relax. Alternatively, Belinda can mix the 4 teas together, adding 1/2 a teaspoon each to the pot. . . For Daniel, adding some a FATIGUE tea to the GOUT tea each day is a good way to combine them. Alternatively, drinking the GOUT tea each morning and the FATIGUE tea in the afternoon helps to avoid the 3pm slump. . . You have probably got the idea now that combining the teas is a great way to make it doable. And whether it is served hot or cold it does not matter - it does not effect the benefit of herbal tea. (Although the tea should start brewed with boiling water and allowed to cool.) There is no reason why you cant drink them each separately or mix them all together. What ever works for you. #herbalteas #wellness #healthylifestyle #lifeisgood #tealover #gippsland #tummy #weighttea #gouttea #fatigue #teatime PC tapteatwice

14.01.2022 Starting to think about your summer body? All that winter comfort eating is now sitting on your waistline and doesnt want to budge? . . On Saturday, we will be at the Warragul Farmers Market (8.30am-1pm) and on Sunday, at the Emerald Community market (9am - 1pm). . . . Our WEIGHT tea gets a lot of attention at this time of year as people look for the "magic" wand to make extra kilos disappear. . . . And as much as I would like to say "drink this tea and you can magically lose 5 or 10 kilos" that is not realistic. . . We all know that it takes more than a pot of tea to lose weight and when customers ask about the WEIGHT tea, I tell them it can work well if.... . . Good hydration - drinking 2 litres of water a day. You cannot have healthy weight loss if you are not drinking sufficient water. . Exercise - walking 1/2 hr to 1 hr a day is a very good option. A regular exercise regime will help you see results. . Diet - making dietary changes including cutting out sugar. That means replacing sugar laden cereals with good old-fashioned rolled oat porridge for breakfast and instead of wheat breads (including white, wholemeal and wholegrain) with rye or spelt breads and rice pasta. . Replace your caffeinated drinks (including coffee, black tea and cola drinks) with herbal teas ( the WEIGHT tea) and vegetable juices. A simple vege juice such as carrot, celery, beetroot, apple and ginger is a very good option. For busy people, make up a weeks worth of juice and freeze into small containers for a nutrient shot each day. . . The goal is to get healthy and the effort is worth it. . . #herbalteasaustralia #goodhealth #herbalteas #guthealth #healthylifestyle #tealover #wellness #wellbeing #nourish #australiancertifedorganic #healthy #detox #weightloss #tealeaves See more

08.01.2022 A kettle, a mug and my favourite tea, its all I need to make a good day better. . . . I love the SPEARMINT & LICORICE ROOT tea and its a great way to start the week.... . . Heres an idea - pic out a piece of the licorice root from the tea, chew on it and knock your socks off. . . . This tea is a great way to reduce sugar cravings. Licorice root is 50 times sweeter than sugar but it doesnt disrupt blood sugar levels. Thats why its the ideal herb for diabetics and people who love sugar. And I love the extra tang from Spearmint. . . . #herbaltea #healthylifestyle #wellness #herbalteasaustralia #wellbeing #lifeisgood #spearmintandlicoriceroot #diabetes #teatime #tealover #sugarcravings #sugaraddict #teaaddict See more

06.01.2022 It is always satisfying to hear how herbal teas are helping customers. Like last Saturday at the Warragul Farmers Market when a customer came to tell me that the PREGNANCY tea she bought for her daughter-in-law to help with her morning sickness has worked a treat. . . .... Her daughter-in-law was suffering all day sickness which was worse in the evening. Sipping the PREGNANCY tea each day has helped enormously. . . Raspberry leaf, the main ingredient in the PREGNANCY tea, can help with morning sickness as well as strengthen the ligaments of the uterus. Raspberry leaf, one of the safest herbs to drink during pregnancy, works by getting everything in good order to help facilitate a good birth experience. . . I have added Lemon Myrtle for its refreshing taste and Lemon Balm to help relax. . . . To know more about which herbs are safe and which ones to avoid during pregnancy, read the Blog on my website, www.herbalteasaustralia.com.au . . . You can also order online or find a stockist near you. . . . #pregnancytea #herbalteasaustralia #herbalteas #healthylifestyle #goodhealth #guthealth #lifeisgood #markets #gippsland #loveeastgippsland #looseleaf #wellness #nutritionpod #natureshealth #moehealthshack #fountainhealth #gotvitadoncaster #picklepot #naturesworks #piskiesmoonta See more

06.01.2022 Mallee Field Days at Speed (thats the Victorian town) are over and we are headed for Hamilton for the annual Sheepvention starting on Sunday. . . Who could resist this little customer, Parker, 6 months old, who took charge of Dads sample cup and enjoyed a slurp of the hibiscus flowers, Rosehips, hawthorn leaf and lemongrass in the BLOOD BALANCE tea.... Parker just couldnt get enough! And yes, Dad bought a packet for him. I guess that answers the question "is it safe for children." Most Herbal Teas Australia teas are safe for children and as per the directions, diluted is always recommended. . . . Sheepvention 2019 is on at the Hamilton showgrounds on Sunday, (10am-5pm) Monday (8am-5pm) & Tuesday (8am-4pm). You will find us in the Producers Pavilion. 01.01.2022 It never ceases to amaze me that we all resonate with different herbs. . . By that I mean we have favourites that we like the look and smell of, and there are ones that always do the trick in making us well or feel better. .... . Some people love chamomile and other dont, for some people it settles their tummy and relaxes them, while others it turns their stomach. . . Some people just love Peppermint while others cannot stand the aroma. . . Turmeric can be the best therapy for some and for others it is too abrasive on their digestive system but they find that Ginger works wonders as an anti inflammatory. . . . Even my herbal teas vary in how they work for different people. One of our stockists told me that the Sleep tea doesnt work for a customer but the Headache tea knocks her out! And another customers husband gets great relief for the arthritis in his hands from the Candida tea. . . There is no "one size fits all" and herbs will always vary for different people (just as drug medications do). . And thats because there are so many variables - a persons age, diet, hydration, medications, ailment, the underlying cause. . . . My favourites? Calendula because I love the vibrant color and the honey aroma. Plus it is wound healing so it is very versatile. My other favourite is Hyssop (pictured) . It is one of those herbs that is a quiet achiever, not well known but very effective. . . Whats your favourite and what does it do for you? . . #herbaltea #wellbeing #wellness #lifeisgood #healthylifestyle #teatime #herbs #calendula #candida #hydration #gippsland #chamomile #peppermint #favouriteherb #markets
