24.01.2022 Best Day To be a father. Dylan is out of his time and Brye has signed on as an apprentice. 4th generation Boilermakers. Proud of them both. I remember the first day of my apprenticeship my father Bob was introducing me To the men. He told them all shit jobs went To me as the bosses son. They took him real serious. The first bloke I ment was Geoge the fitter. Dad said son what is the only way a Boilermaker can stop a fitter from drowning. I said I would jump in and save him. Big Bob scorled at me and said FUC# NO .Take your boot off his head. Congratulations to Dylan well deserved. My right steelcap will have a shine with two bums to kick.Yes Brye. Love you both. I am over 6ft and not in a hole. Should of stopped them playing in the horseshit when they were kids.
23.01.2022 Set up this crushing circuit out at Hughinden. Stripped down Jaw crusher and extended the sides of bin, Cone crusher,conveyors,triple deck screen, VSI .pack it all up in Townsville and load it on Pattles Transport. A top bloke and the man to see for heavy haulage. The Cone crusher weighs 80ton on its own. Bloody Hot and dusty work. First day was 45 degrees ,Flys,put the laser on the ground 58 degrees, I feel like a piece of beef jerky. The lads did well.

18.01.2022 I swayed a client into not buying a144 square meter under Roof Kit shed for his Business ,instead I said I could Knocked up this 250 square meter under roof workshop with 2 12mtr containers incorporated as storage space and Mezzanine Floors. With a Crane mono rail 2 Ton capacity. All sections are numbered and can be erected anywhere. This is my kit shed.First job with my sons and I working together as a team ,they done a good job and proud of them. Had to do nights on the roof because of the heat.My good friend Mick Cottral drew it up for me. Mick4udrafting if you are chasing a bloke that knows what you're talking about.
05.01.2022 I designed this fully adjustable 3 row Hydraulic Renovator plow for Larroona Pastoral .It blue everyone away at how well it works.Renovating is a one pass system where the plow disc out the mound followed by rippers disc mound to profile ready for planting of sugar cane. Traditional method .Rip the whole paddock,sometimes up two 3 times. Disc paddock twice , Form rows. Up to 5 times working of the soil. Benefits for Barrier Reef and environment. 3+ times less fuel so less car...bon emissions. work only 30 percent of soil in paddock Because you don't work the area between the rows it stays firm so if heavy rain comes, the soil and Phosphates don't run into river systems then to the reef. A 70 percent reduction in pollution.Renovating 26 acres an hr at 13km an hr .I'm proud of what my son Dylan and myself have knocked up .I thought that I finally got a break.But would you be-leave before the the paint was dry a big overseas company, that owns all of the sugar mills and most of the cane farms in the district, came out and measured it up, after only three days of commissioning and made there own. I was hoping to present my plow to them and market it. I'm sure my story is not alone. Must be a lot of sad story's of the farmers that had to sell there farms because of the mills offering low prices for there cane.The Battler gets it in the arse again. 02.01.2022 Been a while since I posted anything,been busy knocking up this 40mtr long, 70 ton Surge Tunnel for a local Quarry. This will be buried under a 18mtr high stockpile of Rock that comes off a primary Jaw crusher. We've installed 2 vibrating feeders inside of tunnel that feeds onto a discharge conveyor .The rest of the upgrade to the circuit is. 3 x cone crushers. 3 20 x 6 screens,2 x Barvac for grinding. 2 Radial stockpile stackers and a heap of conveyors to connect it all together. It's taken a lot of head scratching to design this circuit. But when it's done it should be able to crush and mix any size Rock without the time consuming task of screen changes.
01.01.2022 When I first went back working for myself with my son Dylan,I didn't have much work on. I'm not bad at mechanics and the neighbors Ford tractor needed new clutches. When I went to his shed I noticed this old tractor broken in half. She seemed to draw me over, I saw that she was a petrol kerosene Massey. In the 2nd world war a lot of machinery started up with petrol then when at running temperature swap the motor over to Kerosene, as petrol was In short supply. It was all ther...e and I new she would end up at the scrap metal yard if I didn't save her. I told him I would get her going for 4 grand. I new I would have to put in some of my own spare time.Not that I have much of that. Well 2 years later she's finally finished, I cursed from the first day as being 71 years old there was a lot of broken and worn out parts. Shes going to outlive me But I felt better saving the old girl so our children would be able to see her in years to come. She purrs like a kitten. See more
