17.01.2022 TO ALL MY IRISH FAMILY AND FRIENDS - Please read I need your help to spread the word on an important cause. Darcy Keeley is a 4-year-old Perth based boy who...se little life was tipped completely upside down when he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia in June. We have been told that Darcy who is of Irish descent is most likely to match with a young person of Australian and Irish heritage and the family need our help in getting the word out to them. Please share this post, encouraging your young followers and friends to arrange to give blood and register to be a bone marrow donor. This can be done through the ABMDR (In Australia) or the Irish Blood Transfusion Service (in Ireland). Let's find this little champ a match. Additional Info for AUS: Although we're working closely with the national Australian Bone Marrow Donor Registry's program 'strength to give' they have been inundated with requests for swab kits due to overwhelming support for Darcy! As they work through the backlog of requests, at this stage the fastest way - whilst also giving the much needed gift of blood/plasma - is to make an appointment at your local Red Cross Lifeblood Clinic. Whilst here they are able to take an extra blood sample and request a form be filled in to be added to the national bone marrow registry. https://www.donateblood.com.au/faq-list?
