20.01.2022 HI-TECH CAMERA TO ENHANCE GREEN TRIANGLE FIRE MANAGEMENT An eager eyed robotic camera with the ability to undertake a 360-degree scan of the landscape is ant...icipated to enhance fire management across the Green Triangle this summer. A sophisticated FireHawk camera has been installed on the Bluff communication tower at Tantanoola, halfway between Millicent and Mount Gambier, in an Australian-first to test the capability of the computer aided fire detection and risk management system. Be assured that our fire response roster continues as scheduled as fire crews are identified as essential workers. 17.01.2022 FINAL AUCTION UPDATE: $3020 donated to Backpacks 4 SA Kids INC. The Backpacks 4 SA Kids charity auction raised $1510, with that amount matched by us and donated. Each backpack costs around $80 each, so the funds raised will help to supply 38 local kids with emergency supplies. The donation will be used to fulfil a recent order from the Department of Child Protection in the Limestone Coast and will be distributed within the next fortnight. ... Thank you to everyone who got involved and donated so generously to a great cause!

11.01.2022 The Millicent National Trust Museum started as a primary school and is now home to beautiful historical items including over 100 horse drawn vehicles! It’s believed to be the biggest collection in the Southern Hemisphere Timber from the Jubilee sawmill will go into the construction of a converted building so we can see how these vehicles look pre-restoration. Thanks to all at Jubilee who helped with preparing the timber.

08.01.2022 A bit of festive cheer on the last day of State Parliament for 2020 Yesterday, South Australian Forest Products Association (SAFPA) hand delivered gifts for every Member - baby Christmas trees! The potted pine seedlings were accompanied by a Christmas card with info to let each Member know when their tree would be Christmas sized, and if they wanted to wait a little longer, harvest sized.... 07.01.2022 Some new faces have joined our firefighting team. The new recruits joined brigades from SA Country Fire Service, CFA South West, Forestry SA, and National Parks and Wildlife Service South Australia for three days of basic fire fighting training last week, including a practical session specific to plantation fire. The crews will continue their training over the coming weeks and will join the fire roster to be on standby during the 2020/21 fire season.

01.01.2022 It was great to host Minister David Basham - Member for Finniss for some of his time in the region last week. Joined by Nick McBride - Member for MacKillop and SAFPA CEO Nathan Paine, we took a whirlwind tour of the Jubilee sawmill followed by a trip to the forest to check out harvesting operations with Tabeel Trading. The tours were a good opportunity to give our guests insight into what we do, how we do it, and why we do it.
