24.01.2022 This song means something to me... Ahhhh... Vienna, and many more made last night's playlist. Thank you to everyone who made requests and told the stories of these songs' significance in your lives. And an extra special thanks to the three folks who subscribed during the show. There was something in my eye at one point, as music has that unique ability to take us there - to memories, to people, to places and time. The time of our lives. You can listen to the show here https://www.4zzzfm.org.au/program/hey-day and you can always tune back in for more nostalgia (with a splash of new stuff) each Saturday night at 6pm on 4ZZZ

24.01.2022 1988 was just unbeatable musically, especially if your ears were glued to 4ZZZ. Last night Heyday featured a selection of songs that featured in the Hot 100 of that year, one which ended in the eviction of 4ZZZ from it's original home at UQ. It was great to chat to Elliot from Forgotten Type about Brisbane's faded history on the historical buildings in our CBD. If you missed the show you can catch it right here... https://www.4zzzfm.org.au/program/hey-day. 15.01.2022 On this weekend where we remember fathers and families, it seemed fitting to shine the light on 'band family trees'. Talented artists often couldn't stop at just one incredible band, and it was so much fun tracing the generations and connections made between band members over four decades. Thanks to Matt Hsu's Obscure Orchestra for welcoming us to the neighbourhood, and for sharing his passion for inclusion and diversity with us through his powerful new single. If you missed the show you can catch it here https://www.4zzzfm.org.au/program/hey-day. Hoping to catch you all at 6pm next Saturday night for more great old stuff, with a splash of new stuff. 13.01.2022 Well, that was fun. The early 1980's were just SO good for music, especially alternative music. If you missed the show you can listen back here https://www.4zzzfm.org.au/program/hey-day. Join me again next Saturday night for more alternative songs from our youth, from 6pm on 4ZZZ 102.1 fm x

10.01.2022 Regional Rock and Roll! Tonight Heyday explores the four corners of the globe to find the cities and big country towns that delivered a multitude of bands and even coined their own sound. What was it about Manchester that gave rise to Joy Division, The Smiths and so many other brilliant alternative bands in the 1980s. And what is The Dunedin Sound? I'm looking forward to chatting to Melbournites - Ironess - about their creativity in a COVID lockdown, and spinning their new tracks.
