15.01.2022 Good evening fellow golfers, This Saturday’s event will be the December Monthly Medal, and also the 2020 Masters Championship. The first tee will be reserved for the Masters’ qualifiers from 1015 hours through to 1045 hours. All other players who wish to begin their round from the first tee, are most welcome to tee off before 1015 hours, or after 1045 hours. Non Championship qualifiers, who wish to tee off within the 1015 hours-1045 hours time slot, are welcome to tee off t...heir round either on the 8th. tee or the 10th tee. This arrangement in regards to the 1st tee reserved time block is for this Championship and other major Championships. There is no slight intended on other members who are competing in any non championship events taking place on the same day but at present this appears to be the best solution to competitions that are run in conjunction with each other to ensure competitive fairness to the Championship qualifiers. Tee off times for the Masters' Championship, are as follows: 1015 hours N. Innes, L. Evans, B. Parker. 1022 hours: T. Missen, J. Dinsdale, S. Morris. 1029 hours K.Gell, B.Scott, G. McInnes. 1036 hours G.Krutli, J. Sherrin, C.Laverty. 1045 hours M.Castles, N.Lindsay, J.Turner. If players can’t attend or abide to these times please contact Captain John Turner. It is hoped, though, that players comply to this draw for Saturday’s event. It is hoped that the Masters' sponsor, Haydn Barnes can be present on Saturday. We thank Haydn for his generous support of this event. Along with the Club Championships it is one of the most prestigious events on our Club Calendar. On another matter, the Course will be closed from 1600 hours Sunday 6 December, 2020 in preparation for coring of the greens on Monday 7 December 2020. See you on the tee. 13.01.2022 Good morning fellow golfers. Unfortunately the Course is still too wet for golf and therefore remains closed. 13.01.2022 Good Afternoon fellow golfers, Due to ongoing problems in the watering system, tomorrow's scheduled coring of the greens, will not go ahead. It means therefore, the a Chicken Run competition can go ahead. I am proposing that, due to the forecast of 32 degrees tomorrow afternoon, competitors meet at 0900 hours f...or 0930 hours tee off. See you on the tee! Nicholson Innes President See more
13.01.2022 Good Afternoon fellow golfers' I am pleased to announce a new 9 -holes competition, beginning Saturday 9 January 2021. This competition is being initiated to encourage Members who are not comfortable in trying to complete the normal 18 holes competition on Saturdays but would still enjoy competing in a shorter version of the main event.... The following are the rules and condition of play: This Competition is open to both Ladies and Men members Members are to use the members tees when competing in this event Each Saturday the competition will alternate between the front nine one week with the back nine to be played the next week The program will mirror the normal Saturday competition, but the final scoring will be a points system as per a Stableford event. The fee for the 9 holes is $6.00. Each Saturday, a winner will be the competitor who has the highest points for the 9 holes. Prizes will be determined by the number of participants. The Competition will run from January to December 2021. A trophy will be awarded to the participant who has accumulated the most points. To be eligible for the trophy, competitors must have completed consecutive 9-hole events. Single 9-hole events will not be considered eligible for the trophy. Handicaps may be evaluated by the handicapper after consecutive 9-hole events. Tee off times: o 1300 hours (on front 9 Saturdays). o 1330 hours (on back 9 Saturdays) To organize groups of players and guarantee all players are assured of a competing spot, a time sheet will be displayed in the office area. In this way players will be able to organize a game. This may avoid disappointment on the day in question. Any member who is participating in the 18 holes event may also participate in the 9-hole event. However, both entry fees require to be paid and two score cards kept. These events will commence on Saturday 9 January, 2021. It is hoped that members participating in the nine holes event will attend the clubhouse after each event to mingle and socialise with the members participating in the 18 hole event. Heyfield is a great club with an active social side that has been fragmented on different days of the week. Let's try and bring it all together and enjoy each other's company. Onward and upwards for 2021!! See you on the tee! Nicholson Innes President

09.01.2022 Good Afternoon fellow golfers, On Sunday 6 December, 2020, the Golf Club held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the club rooms. I was disappointed that only about seventeen people attended the meeting. There were five apologies but in reality that leave about eighty members not accounted for. 06.01.2022 Good Afternoon fellow golfers, Due to the inclement weather, today’s Chicken Run was abandoned. Advice from the Old Sage (Ken Flint) is that the scores from Tuesday will carry through to next week. Next week will still be the front 12. The calendar will be amended accordingly. The weather is improving so golf should be okay for Friday (18 holes Stableford), and on Saturday, (9 holes Stableford and 18 holes Stableford). With the temperature rising all golfers are reminded... to slip, slop and slap and carry plenty of water. See you on the tee!!!! Nicholson Innes President

01.01.2022 Good Morning fellow golfers, Due to continuous rain, the fairways have become hazardous and most of the greens unfit for playing golf. I have, regretfully, closed the Course until further notice. The Chicken Run will not be happening today. I will inspect the Course at 0800 hours each day to assess its condition but unless the rain stops, the wind gets up and the sun shines, golf may not be possible for a few days. I will keep the membership informed. See you on the tee, (when it gets drier). Nicholson Innes President
