22.01.2022 The Chief Minister has announced Greater Sydney will be removed from the Northern Territorys list of coronavirus hotspots early next month, if the number of ca...ses there remains low. Currently, anyone who travels to the NT whos recently spent time in Sydney has to undergo two weeks of supervised quarantine at their own expense. The government plans to revoke that requirement from October 9, unless there is a change in the situation in Sydney. There is now a sustained, downward trend of new cases in Sydney, Mr Gunner said. The contact tracing and containment system is superb, they are catching and containing the virus very quickly. We are deliberately waiting another four weeks, two full replication cycles, so we can keep seeing the trend go down.

20.01.2022 Humpback Whales in Kakadu?! Yep! Three! Parks Australia has issued the following statement: Earlier this week we became aware of a very unusual event at K...akadu National Park - three Humpback Whales had entered the East Alligator River. As far as were aware, this is the first time this has happened. Kakadu National Park staff are monitoring the situation and working with NT government authorities to gather data on this unusual event, an expert working group has been set up to monitor the whale and prepare plans for intervention if required. As of Thursday, it appears that only one whale remained in the river. We have put an exclusion zone in place from the mouth of the East Alligator River to a point approximately 30kms upstream (see map) for the welfare of the whale and for the safety of people who may have been considering going to the area by boat. The last thing we want is a collision between a boat and whale in waters where crocodiles are prevalent and visibility underwater is zero. We also dont want boats to inadvertently force the whale further up the river. The whale is not in distress at the moment and it is not an emergency situation. The best case scenario is for the whale to make its way back out to sea. Kakadu National Park and NT Government scientists will continue to monitor the whale in the coming days. We appreciate that this is a very unusual and exciting event, however, our priority at present is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of visitors and the whale.

16.01.2022 Camp oven doughnuts, anyone? Here's something tasty for those out on the road. Jo Clews shared this recipe with our friends at ABC Midwest and Wheatbelt. Ingr...edients: 2 cups self-raising flour 150 mill pouring cream 150 mill lemonade a little cinnamon 1 litre oil Method: Add pouring cream to dry ingredients and combine. Add lemonade a little at a time until you have a good dough that you can touch with your fingers without it sticking. You may not need all the lemonade to achieve this. Heat oil in camp oven for 10 minutes then reduce temperature. Shape dough into doughnuts by taking a little more than golf-ball-sized balls and putting your finger through the middle. Test the oil with a small amount of dough. You want it to hit the bottom of the pan and bounce back to float at the top of the oil. You will need to sacrifice the first doughnut. Fry until it looks cooked, remove from oil and cut in half to test. When the oil is a good temperature and not too hot, cook your doughnuts, turning at least once. To finish, coat with cinnamon sugar.

Carly was using a hand ...line off the rocks near the Nightcliff Jetty and landed the 60cm barra not long long after sunset. Now, we know what you're thinking... that must be one of the tagged fish released at the boat ramp at the start of the season... NOPE it wasn't! This one was released in Middle Harbour and swam 18km along the coast before jumping on Carly's line! There's still plenty of red tags out there with seven carrying the million!
