25.01.2022 Hi everyone! In response to the frequently asked question around our trading hours, we just thought we should post our new trading hours that is in place since May. Also here are some reminders around reservations. Hifumiya is not taking reservations and is open for walk-ins only. ... Jigoro accepts reservations but it is completely optional. It might be a good idea to drop us a line if you are visiting us in a large group. For reserving a table with Jigoro, please call 0423 319 456 or send us an email at [email protected]

20.01.2022 Visit us 7 times and get $10 off!!! Our popular loyalty card is up for grabs at the cashier! Please ask our staff if you can't find it! 1 stamp will be provided per visit, per person, per card. To elaborate on the rule, if you make a payment for multiple people, stamps will be provided per the number of people the payment is made for, however one stamp per card. So for example if one person paid for three people, we will provide 1 stamp each on 3 cards (and not 3 stamps on 1 ...card). 19.01.2022 Summer is ending and so is the season of Sudachi lime. Sunday 1st of March is the last day we serve this menu this season. Lime Sudachi has become one of the most popular summer item at Hifumiya and we are really sad to have to let it go. We look forward to bringing it back again next Summer! The good news is, we are planning to release multiple special menus throughout coming Autumn and Winter! They will be something truly "Hifumiya", you will not find anywhere else so please stay tuned!

12.01.2022 Dear our loving Perthlings, We are announcing that Hifumiya and Jigoro will close temporarily from tomorrow 24th March until further notice. But no, this doesn't mean it's over. We have decided that it is the best for us to use this time to review and improve what we do so when the right time comes, we can come back stronger and better.... Knowing that we have a lot of Udon fans regularly visiting us, willing to come even in this uncertain times, this decision was a really tough one. For those new to our Ankake Udon, ankake (or tamago-toji ankake to be precise) is a thick sauce similar to egg drop soup, a really popular menu during the winter in Japan. We will reopen our doors for dine-in respectively from Monday 18th May (Hifumiya) and Tuesday 19th May (Jigoro)!! All the warm message we've got during our temporary closing has been a great comfort and support for us. Thank you so much for keeping connected with us!... 11.01.2022 Hifumiya and Jigoro have hosted an end-of-year thank you party on the new year's eve day collaborating with another hidden gem tempura restaurant in Applecross, Dining Akashi!! This amazing super-collaboration (Udon from Hifumiya, Drinks and appetizers from @IzakayaJigoro and Tempura from Dining Akashi) was made in order to express our appreciation for the help and support from our suppliers and supporters throughout the year. As a team of growing popular restaurants, togethe...r we will strive and perfect our quality and service for more people in Perth area to enjoy! On the day of the event, we have received a number of gifts from the participating guests including beautiful sushi platters from Jaws Sushi and a gorgeous Ise Ebi (spiny lobster) from Ramen Manichi. This lobster was cut by the head chef Shintaro from Ha-Lu (who happened to be here as a guest) and served as sashimi on the spot! The head chef Makoto from Dining Akashi also took a portion from it and made a beautiful tempura and served for the guests! It was such a marvelous surprise! It was such a wonderful night and we really wish we could invite everyone! In 2020, we are planning to do more open-public collaborations and events with various restaurants and companies to share Japanese wonderful food and culture! Please stay tuned!! 10.01.2022 We are delighted to finally introduce to you master chef Daisuke's latest and greatest creation, the Double Jumbo Ebi Fry udon!! Beware. These are no ordinary prawns. You will not be able to find these super jumbo premium prawns anywhere else in Perth!! Topped with house-made special tartar sauce, these bowls are absolutely irresistible. If you love our udon, this is absolutely a must-try!! ... The regular size is already pretty big but the large size is available at the same price! The volume and the quality, your satisfaction is guaranteed!! Double Jumbo Ebi Fry Udon will be available from Monday 21st October!!

This resulted in reduction of the number of tables. In the case you couldn't find a table in peak hours, please order as take-away. All of our menus are available in a take-away container. 06.01.2022 Hifumiya never satisfies with the status quo. We are continuously challenging ourselves for further improvements. Even our dashi broth - the heart of our udon - isn't an exception. Since the founding, Hifumiya has been using our original dashi, proudly produced by an long-established manufacturer in Kyoto Japan. From 23rd November, we are doing a ONE WEEK ONLY TRIAL of the new fine-tuned dashi we have developed. We would love to hear what you think of the new dashi. 05.01.2022 Collaborating with Kisa's Wine Education, Hifumiya/Jigoro is hosting a end-of-year wine party on Friday, 6th of December!! As such, Hifumiya will close at 6pm for this private function on this day. Send a message to Kisa if you are interested in joining this event. We will be serving Jigoro Izakaya menu and Hifumiya udon that go well with Kisa's fine selection of wine! You will be surprised how wine and Japanese menu can be a great combination!

05.01.2022 From tomorrow Saturday 5th December, we will be implementing the WA Health Department COVID-19 contact tracing, as required by the WA government. Please download and install the 'SafeWA' app on your smartphone prior to you next visit. With the app, upon your arrival please scan the QR code we are displaying in our restaurant. But don't worry if you forgot to install it. We will have a manual register ready for those without the app Let's keep WA safe!

05.01.2022 Hifumiya brings fresh and quality udon noodle to your kitchen!! DYI UDON is fresh made raw noodle you can bring home and make your own udon. It comes with separate soup/sauce. Simply boil the noodle and arrange it with your style!! INSTRUCTIONS:... 1. Boil water in a deep pot (The bigger the better). 2. Put noodle into boiling water. Stir occasionally so the noodles don't stick to the bottom of the pot. 3. Boil for 14 minutes for warm udon / Boil for 15 minutes for cold udon. 4. Scoop the noodle from the pot and gently rinse it in a running water or ice water. 5. Put noodle in hot water for about 10 seconds (Optional). Then put the noodle into the warmed soup. Enjoy!! 5. Chill it down further in ice water (Optional). Then put the noodle into a bowl and pour the sauce. Enjoy!

04.01.2022 If you have been to Japan you might have heard of FUKU-BUKURO. They are lucky bags which you won't know the exact content until you actually purchase and open the bag. It's a Japanese cultural thing we do especially in festive season. Our Fukubukuro's contain beers, Japanese soft drinks, snacks, grocery and so on. There are several reasons we wanted to do this but the main one is to help our suppliers suffering from excessive stock which will end up be thrown away if we don't... do anything. You know, we've got to help each others out!! We have purchased these items at good price and put them in lucky bags so our customers can benefit from the low cost! It's a win-win situation!!! Also it's a shame to see them get thrown away. Another bonus is that there are golden tickets hidden in 15 bags out of 123 bags we have prepared. The prizes are $123 gift voucher, 20kg rice which we have 4 bags and a pair brand new Hifumiya Noodle bowls which we have 10 sets! Big shout out to our main suppliers: JFC, Jun Pacific and Nippon Food Supplies for your excellent work in bringing wonderful Japanese products to Australia!! A little endnote: There may be an item or two that are close to or has slightly passed the "best before" date. But not to worry! We have checked all items to make sure everything is in perfectly good condition!

04.01.2022 Wow, 2019 has passed so fast! Thank you everyone so much for all your support this year!! 2019 was another great year for Hifumiya! Our fan base continues to grow and we can clearly see that we have ignited the Udon craze in Perth with increasing number of restaurants starting to advertise Udon in their menu. Hifumiya is proud to remain the only specialised Udon house in Perth leading the Udon boom! But our journey has just started. We will continue to try new things while ma...intaining our core value; that is our belief in freshness, healthiness and welcoming culture.
