25.01.2022 Melbourne refugees have been arriving in droves to enjoy the fresh air and freedom of the High Country. Sandra and Mike from Scoresby had a short break in our lovely gardens to relax and enjoy being further than 5 km from home. Welcome back Melbourne!

23.01.2022 Lots of school holiday visitors this week enjoying the Maze, exploring the acres of gardens and playing killer tag-team chess in the games room. I think the kids beat mum and dad!!

23.01.2022 Due to the number of covid cases on Buller and elsewhere we are closed as of this weekend. Sorry for any inconvenience....better for us all to be safe! Meanwhile we will continue building the gallery and cafe so the Maze will be even more lovely when we re- open after the second wave ends.

23.01.2022 Katie celebrated her 9th birthday party at the Maze on Sunday with her friends. The fun of hunting for gnomes, beating each other at checkers and exploring the gardens made it a memorable day for everyone.

20.01.2022 Lots of activity at the Maze as we start our building projects. The gallery studio is on track to open September and the cafe is awaiting council building approval. Fencing has just been completed thanks to Klingsporn Fencing ....looking fabulous! Thanks Steve and crew.

20.01.2022 The mop-top mayhem continues! Tony has done a fabulous job taming these unruly trees. We used a reciprocating saw with a 15cm blade and made sure we cut above the graft. The robinias will come back better than ever in spring.

20.01.2022 Our new cafe is currently being built - yay!! The garden cafe is still open over the school holidays so come for a coffee, buttermilk scone, choc chip biscuit or muffin - all fresh from the oven!

18.01.2022 We are fast booking up for Xmas parties - so if you want to book your next Xmas event, do it soon. We can accommodate up to 70 people outside in our gorgeous gardens. We are ideally suited for family oriented Xmas breakups (or for any other reason!) with a Maze and Games room for the kids, and 6 acres of award winning gardens to explore. So for something a bit different contact us - we can arrange catering or provide a venue for a DIY party.

14.01.2022 One of the last very hairy hedges to be sorted. It's a 3 to 4 day job just cutting the Xmas trees off the top. Shame its not Xmas, we could have been selling them! Thanks to our helpers - Nick on chainsaw, and Tara and Cormack helping Nicky to cart the debris away. The Maze has been our full time job since Isolation started - getting it cleaned up and properly maintained. Judging by the rings in the tree trunks on the 'Xmas trees' its been quite some years since this area was hedged! Loving the new look!

13.01.2022 We are pleased to let you know that we will be open every day of the School Holidays starting this Saturday 19th December (except for Xmas and Boxing Day). So load up the family, pack your picnic and come out for a coffee, hunt for gnomes in the Maze, browse through our gorgeous new art gallery and wander through our beautiful gardens.

10.01.2022 We are into the final count down to the soft opening of our lovely gallery. The furniture is unpacked, the paintings get hung this week and the studio clutter moves from the gloomy loungeroom to the new bright studio...yay! We will be able to reclaim the lounge! (I am much more excited by the latter than Tony - it's a girl thing I am told....!)

09.01.2022 Xmas parties are once again (allowed and) thriving in Victoria - yay!! Our Mansfield Rotarians held theirs in the evening under our fabulous Chinese Elm. Wonderful food from Ben Davies served in a lovely garden setting ensured a memorable and successful celebration..... It is so lovely to be able to gather with friends and family once again!

09.01.2022 The gallery and studio is now painted and has it's specialised gallery lighting in place. This week the EuroFire gets installed, along with the picture rails and a roof full of solar panels. We aim to open on Cup weekend with a lovely exhibition of Tonys work. Tony will be painting in the Studio/Gallery and ready to talk to you about his work.

08.01.2022 We had a lovely birthday party for Poppy Craven at the Maze yesterday. Despite the rain the kids had heaps of fun...and Brigitte's birthday cake was a triumph! It's great being 9!

02.01.2022 Two of the dream team here at High Country Maze.....the 4-legged hairy one is Carlotta, garden supervisor and sofa queen. The good looking 2-legged one is Charlotte who works in our garden café taking our home made scones, muffins, biscuits and fabulous coffee to our visitors.
