23.01.2022 Dear HOH. This may be a silly question but what’s the difference between hemp CBD and cannabis CBD? Firstly, there are no silly questions when it comes to cannabis! Here’s how we like to break it down for newbies. Think about the dog kingdom - Within the species, there are multiple breeds each possessing their own unique features and personalities yet they are all classified as dogs. The same can be said for cannabis, hemp being one of the many varieties within the Cannabacea...e family - famously known for its low THC percentage (<0.3%). The majority of CBD products you will find are derived from Hemp. See below a breakdown of the different types of CBD available in Australia and their ratio content -Full spectrum (<0.3% THC + other cannabinoids) -Broad spectrum (0% THC + >1 other cannabinoid) -Isolate/Purified (99%+ CBD, 0% THC, no other cannabinoids) In short, hemp is cannabis as they are both from the exact same species! via @fallforvee #cannabis

22.01.2022 Let this sink in The Hemp Revolution is more than fibre and food - It is a legend, a myth, an important story of mortality and mistreatment; A voice in union between the natural world and the people. Hemp embodies both the questions and answers, the root of our problems and the solutions. Words via @thehemptemple #hemp

21.01.2022 We all know that taking too much THC produces tolerance but can the same be said for CBD? Research shows that long-term, regular use of THC results in consumers building up a tolerance due to the way in which it binds directly to the body’s endocannabinoid receptors. In particular, THC binds strongly to the CB1 receptor in the brain (hence the mind-altering effects) leaving chronic THC consumers with increased unresponsive cannabinoid receptors over time, therefore needing mo...re THC to achieve the same result. Even though CBD and THC come from the same cannabis species, CBD binds differently to our cannabinoids receptors. Unlike THC, which diminishes the effectiveness of these receptors with repeated use, CBD can promote increased receptor activity. In short, research suggests that CBD is not tolerance-forming, and may in fact have reverse-tolerance effects. In other words, taking CBD regularly may result in consumers needing less CBD to achieve the same results. All in all, this showcases the true beauty of this miracle cannabinoid. via @slimesunday #cbdeducation

20.01.2022 Considering breathing is a natural process, it may feel strange to contemplate how to inhale however all first-time consumers need to start somewhere, and nailing the proper breathing technique is essential to maximizing your cannabis experience. Here’s the handy trick: Slowly inhale about two-thirds of your hit and follow up with a deep, inhaled gulp of air and release. There’s no need to hold your inhale for long. For beginners, consider waiting 5-10 minutes to observe the onset of effect after your first inhalation. via the talented @fallforvee #cannabis

19.01.2022 Even for the most seasoned cannabis connoisseur, consuming too much can lead you down a path of discomfort. Here’s some tips to bring you back down from a big THC dose! Firstly, CBD is your best friend in this situation. It is powerful enough to counteract the euphoric effects of THC. Keep your tincture handy and drop away as needed. Try to switch up the environment you are in - distract yourself. If you’re at home, take a walk around the block, have a shower, try a 15 minut...e stretching routine or watch a movie. Some people swear by the black pepper trick! Smell or chew some black peppercorns, they contain terpenes which blunt the effects of THC. A hot or cold lemon and pepper beverage is always nice too! Lastly and most importantly, remind yourself that this feeling will pass - we know that is easier said than done. If anything, you will now know your limits which will make your next experience a more controlled one. If you are really struggling, call a trusted friend and talk to them. via @thejaneparade #cannabis

18.01.2022 Of late, we’ve witnessed the cannabis industry’s negative narrative when it comes to use of prescription medications. While this may not be intentional, we are now seeing marketing techniques being used by brands and educational platforms which promote taglines such as plants over pills, leaving judgement on those who continue to use and need prescription medicines in their daily lives. For some, cannabis may be the only tool they need however others may need a mixture of b...oth medicines for them to live comfortably; Some may not respond positively to cannabis at all. The individuals within the disabled community are affected by this the most, being faced with prejudicial attitudes, negative stereotyping, and stigma for the way they choose to handle their care. There is no denying the power of cannabis and how it has positively affected many of us - however for some it is not the only effective method available to them. In an industry which has faced its fair share of inclusion issues, collectively we need to remember the non-judgemental space we have been fighting for and fully consider all that we are speaking to #cannabis

17.01.2022 Dear HOH. Cannabis products for anal play? Understandably, anal play (for beginners) can be daunting. It is an emotionally vulnerable experience in which the receiver’s needs and boundaries have to be respected. Lube, infused with cannabinoids, is a welcomed friend to your behind - The more the better as your backside does not self-lubricate. In addition, suppositories have been known to help with relaxing our muscles without numbing the pleasure. Be sure to insert your suppo...sitory 30 minutes before you begin. 14.01.2022 I’ve been using CBD for a week and I feel no difference. Am I doing some wrong? If you’ve felt this way, you’re not alone. This statement hits our DM’s weekly. Overall, cannabis is no one trick pony, it’s a game of trial and error. For Australians, this can be even more complicated due to limited options with have available with strains and delivery methods. Regardless, don’t expect a radical change overnight. Be patient with your journey and document your findings over time. The results may surprise you. If a product isn’t suiting your needs or lifestyle, speak to your doctor about your dosages or trying a new delivery method or brand available #cannabis

12.01.2022 Did you know THC is TLC for your CBD? As we know, CBD and THC can be consumed in a variety of ways, separately or together. However, research suggests that taking them together, along with other whole-plant compounds such as terpenes, is more effective than taking THC or CBD alone. The collaboration between cannabinoids and terpenes is known as the entourage effect. THC is our euphoric friend. While some enjoy these effects, other may be inclined to reap the medicinal benef...its of cannabis without the ‘high’ feeling. This is where CBD comes in. CBD has been known to counteract the intoxicating effects which THC offers. While it may be that THC and CBD work better together than alone, it’s important to remember that cannabis affects everyone differently. Start by talking to your healthcare provider about the right product for your lifestyle and condition. via @sousweed #cannabis

11.01.2022 Ever wondered how long cannabis stays in your system for? Like many questions with cannabis, it’s tricky to pin point for each individual. Research suggests that cannabis can be found in your system for up to 90 days however it can be different for everyone due a number of factors such as how much you consume, how often you consume, delivery methods used, body fat percentage and individual lifestyle choices which include exercise and eating choices. Another important factor i...s the testing used in a drug test. For example, studies suggest cannabis can be found in your saliva between 24-72 hours after use. For more regular users, it may be longer. If a blood test is used, cannabis can be found in your bloodstream for up to 7 days after use. In short, cannabis may stay within your system anywhere from several days to several months are use. It is important to discuss your options with your healthcare provider and employer, if necessary, to understand how your medical cannabis prescription will affect your daily life choices. via @stolenpainting #cannabis

10.01.2022 Is cannabis effective for menstrual pain? The answer is, anecdotally, yes. On the flip side, has it been studied in length? The answer in no. The science around cannabis and its ability to relieve menstrual pain is scare, however it’s benefits have been vocalised for centuries. One famous delivery method for period pain is the intravaginal product known as the suppository. Made from a base of cocoa butter or coconut oil and infused with CBD or THC, it is marketed that our bod...y heat melts the suppository which then absorbs the cannabinoids through the tissue of our cervix and uterus, targeting our endocannabinoids receptors, which are believed to be present in our reproductive organs. Here’s what we do know - When endocannabinoids (the molecules that our bodies naturally produce) attach to their receptors, it triggers a reaction. Two examples of these possible reactions are reduced pain and decreased inflammation, which are two common traits of uncomfortable period pain. This is where it gets tricky with suppositories. We don’t know much about how THC or CBD is absorbed in the vagina. Furthermore, as we learn more about our endocannabinoid receptors in the uterus, their exact role in the genital track and their role in pain is unknown. In addition, there is no consensus regarding which strain, dosage, or mode of administration is best for menstrual pain. Every vagina is different which means there are a lot of unknowns when dealing with unregulated cannabis products. However, if you have tried all other options and nothing has worked, suppositories may be a potential option to explore. There are currently no approved suppositories available on the registered medicines list in Australia. via @consciouschatter #cannabis

08.01.2022 While integrating cannabis into your next yoga session may seem like a scary thought at first for beginners or even seasoned yogis, its benefits for the mind and body may surprise you. As Hannah, Founder of @lityoga, explains When we include cannabis before the yoga asanas, breathwork or meditation practices, it induces an altered state of consciousness. In this altered state, the effects can include heightened body awareness, reduced inflammation and reduced physical pain, deeper connection to emotions stored in the body as tension, new wiring and perspectives in the mind, connection to community, enhanced awareness of breath or lack thereof, introspection, reflection, and a sense of playfulness and laughter. 06.01.2022 If you think infused foods may be right for you, it’s time to learn the basics. Why? Because a bad experience is unforgettable for the wrong reasons. To avoid a bad experience with edibles, don’t dive head-first into your stash. The first rule of thumb is to start at the smallest dose you can. Microdosing with amounts as low as 1-2.5 mg is a great place to begin for newbies. If you take your next dose too soon, you may find it hard to track back. Wait for at least two hours b...efore considering another treat. If you’ve gone too far and feel a wave of paranoia set in, reach for the CBD. It is powerful enough to counteract the effects of THC. via @broccoli_mag #edibles

05.01.2022 It’s not uncommon to see individuals using their CBD oil tincture, which is designed for ingestion, as a topical or spot treatment for the skin. In most cases, there’s nothing wrong with exploring this as an option however your skin will be missing out on all the other necessary ingredients which are specifically formulated for nourishing the skin. In addition, tinctures are not tested for skin sensitivity or skin safety, and overall have different quality testing protocols.... Moreover, tinctures may often contain flavours and other ingredients which benefits are designed for ingestion only. If you are considering the use of a CBD oil tincture for topical use, be sure to investigate the components within the tincture before use. Secondly, infuse your CBD with a carrier oil such as hemp seed oil or a body butter to cover larger surface areas. The right amount of potency is a guessing game at this point as there is limited information on dosing for beauty products. How much product you will need depends on how your skin reacts; start with a low dose, increase in small increments and keep a beauty journal to track your changes. To begin, apply a small amount to the skin for testing purposes before fully diving in. via @hudsonhemp #cbdeducation

04.01.2022 Did you hear? CBD could be made available over-the-counter as early as next year for Australians. An interim decision made by the TGA would mean patients would only need to consult with a pharmacist for access products. However it does come with some limitations which include a maximum daily dose of 60mg and a 30-day supply restriction for individuals 18 years and older. In addition, the only delivery method sold will be in oil form. To learn more on buying CBD in Australia, link our bio for more information. via @jamienelson6 #cbdaustralia

01.01.2022 Two words very rarely spoken in the cannabis community are tolerance break. While for some it may not be necessary, others can benefit from a break. Firstly, it’s important to acknowledge that this is no easy task for some. If you’re a regular cannabis user, how quickly you become tolerant to THC depends on dose, frequency, history and your DNA. For the first 2 weeks, your body and brain will crave it. As with anything you do daily, there will be some sort of withdrawal sym...ptoms. To say committed to your break, the Out of Sight, Out of Mind approach is key. Clear your home of your hidden supply and any temptations. Be sure to inform your friends of your new goal and try explore a new hobby with them. A friend may even want to join in on the break with you! Lastly, stay focused. Pick a date and stick to it. On the bright side, when you light up again, a little will go a long way. via @aprettycoolgirl #cannabis
