23.01.2022 Hi, I just wanted to ask if you are ok? This is me, Jess and my 3.5 daughter, Adelaide doing a iso photo shoot in the first lockdown. The first lockdown when things were a bit of novelty, corona seemed like it was happening somewhere else, it was actually lovely to spend the time with the kids. And we did fun things like this and found them very funny. Plus my hair still looked ok. But this lockdown has been tough. A huge amount to be juggling. Some days... have felt that I havent known what to tackle first. I am so grateful for our little house, our kids are healthy and growing fast, my cats give great cuddles, my husband still has his job, my extended family are ok, my friends are safe and ok. I am grateful for friends who have been supportive and understanding. Thank you. But the exhaustion is full on. The tiredness and repetitiveness is well draining. I have learned to let go of things this lockdown and not worry too much about things. I have cried when I have needed to, cuddled a cat has helped, slept when I have needed it, exercised when I can. Melbourne and Victoria - this #RUOKday look after yourself. I hope you are ok. I wish for this to be over soon for us all. It is ok to not be ok but it is also important to say and let people know. Please feel free to message me or chat below here. Any day. See more

23.01.2022 If you believe in the freedom of the press, unbiased journalism, frank and honest editorials, then you need to get on the K Rudd band wagon and support the petition for a Royal Commission into the Murdoch Media in Australia. The Murdoch Media Empire currently controls of 70% of the news outlets in Australia. 70%!! Not only is that percentage too high, but the Murdoch Media Empire also has a very strong political and social agenda which they spout through their media channels. This is Trumpism in our backyard!!

21.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day!!!! Today I want to say a MASSIVE, GINORMOUS, SUPER DUPER, ENORMOUS, THE GREATEST, THE GRANDEST thank you to my husband and dad to our kids, Fergal. Reluctant model (particularly in iso days), always wearing a High Tees including his very own customs (yep - that is Gerry Garcia), always giving our kids the best love, support, tickles and silliness. I definitely could not do this business without him. We love you so much and cannot thank you enough for eve...rything you do for us. You keep us fed, clean and tidy and of course, thoroughly entertained!! And the Irish accent definitely helps too! We think you are the best DAD and husband in the world. Xxxxx Sorry about the super early breaky in bed that you didnt get to eat. #happyfathersday2020

20.01.2022 "I have wanted to have Magda in the ranks for 2 years. I am a huge fan and love everything she does. She is a big hero for me. This is probably why I have found it so difficult to draw her - to capture her light, sparkle in her eyes and joy. I wanted the portrait to be of Magda, not one of her characters. I wanted to show her warmth and smile. Her laughter and spark. And finally she is here. I have been working on this drawing for the past 6 weeks, doing d...raft after draft after draft. And as timing would have it, just when Magda needs us to rally with her, her portrait is ready." - Jess What do you think? MAGDA - you are the joy and sparkle of our Australian life. Thank you for all the laughs, tears, reflection, cringe, giggles, shocks and heart warming flutters. You are beyond a National Treasure. We love you. #sharon #noice #magdaisawesome See more

17.01.2022 When one of your business dreams comes true. I am a serious fangirl of the wonderful Em Rusciano and seeing her donning the new BRETT tee is such a thrill. Listen to the @emsolation episode called The Magical Unicorn of Death with Em and Michael Lucas chatting about their BRETTs and telling us just how wonderful our #CHOttie just is. Thanks so much Em and Michael. This was a massive moment in the days of our lives here at High Tees.

17.01.2022 Kindness can make all the difference to one persons experience which is why we support @westwelcomewagon , a volunteer run, not-for-profit organisation that provides material aid and support to asylum seekers in Melbournes west. One dollar from every High Tee sold, and $10 from the sale of every WELCOME and KINDNESS t shirt, is donated to this incredible group which started from an act of kindness when the founders discovered that some local asylum seek...ers had been living without beds or electricity, in an empty apartment for six weeks.. Asylum Seekers face much hardship during these times as they cannot access many of the benefits and support available - no Medicare, no jobkeeper, no jobseeker. They rely on the kindness, generosity and support from wonderful organisations such as West Welcome Wagon. Now is not the time to forget those most vulnerable in our community. We are PEOPLEKIND, we are HUMANKIND, we say WELCOME, we say KINDNESS. Jump over to West Welcome Wagon if youre keen to get involved. #kindness #wearyourvalues See more

16.01.2022 KNOW THIS WOMAN - Malala Yousafzai It is hard to believe that Malala is only 23. Yet she is Nobel Peace Prize laureate - the youngest ever and a global activist for female education. As an 11 year old, Malala started blogging about her experience in Pakistan under Taliban rule. From these blogs, she then rose to fame in the region and was nominated for the the International Children’s Peace Prize.... In 2012, the Pakistani Taliban made an assassination attempt on Malala, shooting her in the head while she was on the way home from an exam. This sparked global support for Malala and governments, human rights organisations condemned the Taliban. The Pakistani leading fifty clerics issued a fatw against those who attempted to kill her. After her recovery, Malala has become the world’s leading activist for female education, stating that education can kill terrorism. She is a best seller author, a co-founder of the Malala Fund, has received a Nobel Prize Prize, the first ever Pakistan National Youth Peace Prize, Sakharov Prize and was voted 3 years running in Time Magazine’s Most Influential People. This woman... this extraordinary women. She is an inspiration!!! #malala 1st image repost - @labodif

16.01.2022 KNOW THIS WOMAN : Rosa Parks The US State Congress has called her the first lady of Civil Rights and the the Mother of the Freedom Movement. Rosa Parks is synonymous with peaceful protest. When she decided to not move from her bus seat after the bus driver ordered her to stand to allow a white passenger to sit, her civil disobedience at that moment sparked the black community in Montgomery, Alabama to boycott Montgomery buses for a year in protest of the segregation laws.... Parks was arrested for not obeying the bus driver’s order and charged with civil disobedience. Eventually her case was heard and the courts found the segregation laws were unlawful. Her act and the Montgomery Bus boycott were the first direct action of the post war civil rights movement. Parks rose to international fame and she has become an icon of defiance, resistance and peaceful activism. Rosa Parks inspired many of the women in the Merry Feministmas range and she is an inspirational to all who fight racism. She spoke of how black lives matter. Video repost @theklymaxx

16.01.2022 Nothing beats getting videos like this, and it is extra special when it comes from someone you seriously fangirl about - the gorgeous @emrusciano BRETT will never look so good than on the adorable Elio!! Thank you so much for sharing this!!

15.01.2022 Who watched the Freeman documentary last night? It was mind blowing. To hear in Cathys own words how she ran this race. Probably the most incredible sporting moment in Australian History. Every time my eyes still well up with tears. Her strength, focus and determination while carrying the weight of a nation and a people, in amongst all the political and social activism at the time. She became a leader and symbol of a new inclusive and diverse Australia. (Unfortunately it still took quite a few years before the Government said sorry. Howard refused to take the moment and do it at the time. But that rant for another time.)

12.01.2022 Ohhhh Melbourne and Victoria. A two week extension....*sigh, deep breath, hold steady, we can do this. Whatever your feelings about the lockdown and the restrictions we have, this time will pass. Today as we all absorb and calculate what this means for us, remember at some stage today, go put on your fav Aussie song ( and buy it from your chosen streaming service. They all need the support we can give right now), and dance around your li...ving room in ya undies. Volume up full blast and shake it all out of your system. Thats what we are doing. One thing is that the time to do this is slowly ending. Just think only in a few weeks, you will be able to have some friends or family over so dancing around in ya undies might not be such acceptable behaviour. 11.01.2022 $1053 That is how much we are donating to @westwelcomewagon for October. This is a combined donation from High Tees and @seddon_community_bank_branch. ... For the month of October, Seddon Community Bank Branch partnered with High Tees - and they have been so unbelievably amazing!! Not only did they have a little pop up feature of High Tees in their bank window, they actively sold our tees AND agreed to match the donation we make to @westwelcomewagon. We donate $10 from the sale of our WELCOME and KINDNESS t shirts directly to West Welcome Wagon and with the support of the Seddon Community Bank, we were affectively able to double this donation. On top of that, we also donate $1 from every other item sold too. Which equalled $1053!!! So we want to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to everyone who bought a t shirt in October. Please know that you are the reason we are able to continue to support West Welcome Wagon. And a massive THANK YOU to the wonderful team at @seddon_community_bank_branch for being incredible to work with and really showing what community is all about. 10.01.2022 Try a little KINDNESS. We love the power of a t shirt and this t shirt packs a powerful punch, full of generosity and kindness of course. Firstly, $10 from the sale of this t shirt goes straight to the kind folk at West Welcome Wagon. A wonderful organisation that provides material aid to asylum seekers. A grassroots NFP that relies of volunteers and provides necessary support to some of the most vulnerable people in our community. Curr...ently they are supporting over 500 households. This t shirt helps suppprt the amazing work West Welcome Wagon does. Secondly, it is 100% organic cotton and certified child labour free. Our beautiful tees are GOTS certified and have a rating of A- on the Baptist World Aid Ethical Fashion Guide (2019). Thirdly, it is proudly created and designed in Kingsville, Melbourne and printed in Ferntree Gully, Melbourne. Freshly printed to order so that we only produce the amount of stock we need so we dont over produce and create any excess waste. We think all T-shirts should have the power to change the world!! 09.01.2022 LEST WE FORGET KNOW THIS WOMAN In recognition of Remembrance Day and NAIDOC week, we wish to to recognise Kathleen Walker, known by her traditional Aboriginal name, Oodgeroo Noonuccal. Here is an excerpt of her profile from the Australian War memorial website. ... Kathleen Walker, nee Ruska, grew up on North Stradbroke Island in Moreton Bay, east of Brisbane...Walker showed a natural gift with words at an early age, encouraged to pursue writing at school. Her father, Edward, worked for the Queensland government and campaigned relentlessly to improve conditions for Aboriginal employees. When the Second World War broke out in 1939 two of Walker’s brothers, Eric and Eddie, enlisted for service in the army. Both were captured by the Japanese when Singapore fell in February 1942, and they spent the next three and a half years as prisoners of war. In December 1942 Walker joined the Australian Women’s Army Service (AWAS) and trained as a signaller. In that same year she married her childhood friend, Bruce Walker, who was a talented bantamweight boxer and a welder by trade. Kath remained in the AWAS until early January 1944. She settled in Brisbane with her husband, and their first son, Denis, was born two years later. In the 1960s Walker began to develop a reputation as a poet, and published three critically acclaimed collections. Around this same time she became an increasingly passionate advocate for Aboriginal rights, and worked towards reconciliation for the remainder of her life. In 1970 Walker was appointed a Member of the British Empire for her services to Aboriginal people. Now known by her traditional Aboriginal name, Oodgeroo Noonuccal, she returned her award some years later in protest against the celebrations planned to mark 200 years since the arrival of the first convict ships in Australia. She died in 1993 at the age of 72. A trust was established in her honour to carry on the work she had begun towards reconciliation. Photo: Australian War Memorial website @awmemorial

05.01.2022 20 years ago today the world watched Australia and Sydney open the Games of the XXVII Olympiad. So many magical moments. For me the moment the torch entered the stadium and was passed from female champion to female champion, celebrating 100 years of womens participation in the Olympics - Shane Gould, Betty Cuthbert, Dawn Fraser, Shirley Strickland and Debbie Flintoff-King - and then handed to Cathy Freeman. I remember bawling my eyes out as Cathy stood there and h...eld up that torch. It felt like such a pivotal moment for Indigenous Australians and women in Australia. It was a resounding statement, a proud moment. The ceremony was a brilliant spectacle. Nicki Webster floating through the sky, the First Nations 11 minute performance, the horses and stockmen and finishing with Andrew Gaze leading the biggest Australian team in history. 05.01.2022 This week has all been about celebrating one of our greatest ever Heroes - CATHY. Australias Golden Hero - multiple World Champion and Olympic Gold Medallist! Advocate for Education in Indigenous Communities! Young Australian and Australian of the Year!... Who could forget that moment when she crossed the finish line of the 400 metres at the Sydney Olympics in 2000? That victory lap, with both the flags and that grin on the podium... what a moment in Australian sporting history?! What a moment in Australian history?! With multiple victories and medals at World Championships, Commonwealth Games and Olympic Games, Cathy truly is one of Australias sporting heroes. And recognised such being ordained Young Australian of the Year in 1990 and Australian of the Year eight years later. She was given the unusual honour for a participating athlete to light the Olympic Torch at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games opening ceremony and ran to victory with the weight of Australias expectations in the 400 metres. She is not only an athletic superstar but an incredible advocate of education and champion of change for young Indigenous children realising their potential through school. She will remain forever in our hearts and minds as our Golden Girl and the vision of her win at the Sydney Olympics forever seared in our nations collective memory. #freeman #cathyfreeman #whatachampion See more

04.01.2022 A WWF report came out on Monday highlighting the impact of the Summer Bushfires on the Koala Population in NSW. Comparing the populations before and after the Summers bushfires, it found that the population has declined by 71%. There are some areas where the population decline is more than 80% and in one case, in Taree, there were no koalas found at all. Specialist koala ecologist, Dr Phillips is calling for koalas to be reclassified as an endangered species foll...owing this report, saying that this classification will help protect the remaining populations. (see ABC NEWS article: "WWF report finds 71% decline in koala numbers across northern NSW bush-fire affected areas"). In these pictures is our dear friend, @daloon. She volunteers at a Koala Sanctuary in Victoria and spends time with our national treasures on the weekends. She helps with the rehabilitation of the Victorian Surf Coast koala population. We created the Native Animal Range in response to the devastation our wildlife faced following the bushfires. And as the pandemic spread across the world, we were concerned that our beautiful, unique wildlife might be forgotten amongst the chaos. We chose 3 animals - a KOALA (a mammal), a GLOSSY BLACK COCKATOO (a bird) and a BLUE MOUNTAINS WATER SKINK (a reptile). All 3 species faced devastation and possibly extinction following the fires. In fact, the fate of the Water Skink is still unknown. We proudly donate 10% of the sales of the Native Animal Range to @wireswildliferescue who helps rescue and rehabilitate native wildlife in NSW. Please dont forget our beautiful animals. As we come into the warmer months, it is worth considering that many of the bushfire affected areas are still recovering. See more

03.01.2022 I was introduced to Elizabeth Yanyi Close’s art via my work with @social_for_goodness and I have loved following her ever since. Her work is bright, colourful, powerful and dynamic. Elizabeth Yanyi Close @elizabethclosearts is a Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara woman and Contemporary Aboriginal Visual Artist based in Adelaide. She has spent the past 14 years crafting a dynamic multi-disciplinary visual arts practice that speaks to both her own, personal Connection to Count...ry, and the concept of connection to place and space more broadly. Elizabeth feels strongly about increasing the visibility of Aboriginal Arts and Culture in the public space, and feels passionately about the importance of public art and how it fits into the principles of placemaking. Public art transcends power dynamics and privilege; it takes art off the walls of the elite and out of the galleries and into the public realm. It is perfectly placed to tell the story of the community; to challenge ideas and perceptions and to create a sense of ownership and belonging. #naidocweek
