22.01.2022 PLEASE SHARE An insightful article by the Newcastle Herald examining the continually embattled Forster Civic Precinct site which was to contain MidCoast Council’s $20 million library. It backs up last July's Manning Community News article: Is this the Dumbest Deal Ever?" Very revealing, worthy of a read and to share around our community!

09.01.2022 Talk about thought provoking! 26 million people have seen this presentation. Perhaps those at MidCoast Council who determined that centralising 350 staff into one open plan box with a 'hot desk' system where no-one has a permanent place; turning the warehouse into one giant "paperless" office, where everything will be done from computer screens should really take a good look at this presentation by Susan Cain at TED.
08.01.2022 The Manning Community News will continue to be published. Please Share!
07.01.2022 This is getting a lot of attention! MidCoast Council should review its position on giving the community the right to determine the method of electing "our" Mayor. Which method is better: pulling a name out of a hat, OR the residents and ratepayers casting a vote in a democratically constituted election? ... Recently, the Minister for Local Government said: Councillors are accountable to the community. Therefore a Mayor elected by the people is responsible and accountable to the people. But a Mayor elected by the Councillors is only accountable (and beholden) to a small number of Councillors (and the hat).
