20.01.2022 www.hiketech.com.au Although some areas of the Victorian Alpine National Park are still closed due to this summer’s bushfires, there is hope. After being devastated by fire 2 years ago, access to the iconic Lake Tali Karng, is now open from McFarlane Saddle along the Wellington Plains track and down Gillios Track. Let’s hope it will again look like it did when we were there in 2017 with the Ben Cruachan Walking Club. Let us know what you have found in your comments so we can share. But please make sure you check the Parks Vic website for the latest information. #bushwalking #bushwalkinggear #hiking #hikinggear

19.01.2022 www.hiketech.com.au We made it - to the summit of Mt Jerusalem in the Walls of Jerusalem National Park, Central Plateau region of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. These pics are just a taste of the 360 degree view. Follow us to see more. A bushwalking treasure worth every step and effort. #bushwalking #bushwalkinggear #hiking #hikinggear

18.01.2022 www.hiketech.com.au Ben Cruachan Walking Club on one of the fabulous walks in East Gippsland. Lakes Entrance to Lake Tyers Beach via Lake Bunga and Red Bluff, with good coffee to get the legs going and a pub at the end. What a way to celebrate Australia Day or any day!!

11.01.2022 www.hiketech.com.au Here are some more pics of our hike into the Walls of Jerusalem National Park in the glorious Tasmanian wilderness. Follow us to see our bushwalk into the Labyrinth from Lake St Clair and Pine Valley, off the Overland Track and to see what gear we took for these multi-day walks. #bushwalking #bushwalkinggear #hiking #hikinggear #bushwalkingtasmania

10.01.2022 www.hiketech.com.au As roads are cleared and parks opened, we need to find places not damaged by fire to go bushwalking and hiking to recharge whilst also supporting nearby towns suffering from the loss. We will be out and about during this long weekend looking for places to walk and will share with you here. Please let us know what you find and upload your pics and posts here to share.

10.01.2022 www.hiketech.com.au Hike Tech is madly packing the hiking food and gear, and the Hilux, to take the ferry on Saturday night for 3 weeks in Tasmania. This time the Walls of Jerusalem National Park is first on the list. Exploring beyond the Pine Valley Track (off the Overland Track) to The Labyrinth, Lake Elysia and The Acropolis also are on the list. Anna didn’t climb Cradle Mountain itself when we hiked the Overland Track a year ago, so, weather permitting, it’s a must do. We will be trying out some new gear and food as well. Follow us to see how it all goes. Let us know where you are going bushwalking this weekend or for your next big adventure. #bushwalking #bushwalkinggear #hiking #hikinggear

08.01.2022 www.hiketech.com.au We’re off to Tasmania, to do a couple of 4 day bushwalks: The Walls of Jerusalem National Park, and The Labyrinth and The Acropolis. Here is a pic of the food packed for one person for a 4 night hike a mix of home dehydrated and bought food which also needed to be gluten free. When we get back in 3 weeks, Hike Tech will do a video for our YouTube channel with more detail, and put the menu on our website. Haven’t tried the Back Country Cuisine Cooked Breakfast or No Worries Ration Pack yet, so follow us and will let you know how they go. The Back Country Cuisine meals, Vargo Titanium Bots and Platypreserve wine bladder shown in the pic, and much more, are available from www.hiketech.com.au #bushwalking #bushwalkinggear #hiking #hikinggear

08.01.2022 www.hiketech.com.au Thank you DELWP Gippsland and everyone for their clearing and rebuilding work so that we can enjoy some of this great country again over this Australia Day long weekend. They tell us Lakes National Park, Gippsland Lakes Reserves and Gippsland Lakes Coastal Park are open and accessible and gave us this gem of Metung to entice us. Happy bushwalking, swimming, sailing, fishing, kayaking, or just chilling!!

05.01.2022 www.hiketech.com.au More places to go bushwalking. Hiking through bush ravaged by fire 6 months previously in the Alpine National Park, Gippsland, Victoria from Doolan Plain, the reward on reaching Neilson Crag is still spectacular. What bushwalks have you found over the weekend. Let us know here in your comments. Upload a pic so we can share.

02.01.2022 www.hiketech.com.au News from Parks Vic and Bushwalking Victoria that some areas of the Alpine National Park are open: Mount Feathertop, Razorback Ridge, Bon Accord Spur, Bungalow Spur and North West Spur, Diamantina Horse Yards, Dibbins Hut, and The Alpine Walking Trail between Mount Hotham and Pole 333. Fabulous bushwalking was there 3 months ago. So glad not burnt.
