20.01.2022 It is with great pride and my honour to announce the Nationals Division 1 Baseball Silver Medal winning Squad: Coaches Aiden Irvine Brad Dalton... Lachlan Cumming Tim Warry Players Aiden Irvine Bayley Thomas Campbell Johnson Daniel Turner Eric Su Ian Karnick Lachlan Cumming Lachlan Hardie Michael Manoel Nathan Di Vaira Robert Yu Sean Lin Seth Conklin Sungwoo Joung Tai Smith Taiga Saito An incredible game against Newcastle, when in the top of the 7th, UQ had a rally of 5 runs to go ahead, with the last two runs of the rally coming off Aiden Irvine’s ROE with two outs. UQ would head into the bottom of the 7th with a 1 run lead, 8-7. Newcastle would later walk off, winning 9-8. Dan Turner continued to have a hot bat with 2 RBIs before being bitten by the injury bug later in that game. Lachlan Cumming had a disciplined approach all game with 2 walks. Taiga Saito and Eric Su continued their great 1-2 on the batting lineup, both getting 2 hits. All the boys can be very proud with how they played. We are the best national division 1 baseball queensland team, and the second best in Australia, no laughing matter at all. All eyes are now on 2020 in Perth.

15.01.2022 The annual Nationals University Games is upon us. UQ has once again put its strongest team into the competition and will give it our all to get good results fitting of our effort for the past few months in training. Below is the schedule from Monday to Thursday, if you’ve got the time come support us as we try to make a push for the playoffs. Up the UQ!

11.01.2022 At 0900 this morning, UQ Baseball will be playing their first semi final in a long while, so for all former and present students, feel free to come and support the team in what has been a great run for the ol girl maroon machine. Sir Bruce Small Park, Benowa.

09.01.2022 No training today, sorry to all. Training for social competition shall resume next Tuesday 4-dark, William Dart Park, UQ.

09.01.2022 A tough game with Melbourne in this mornings semi final, but with the team being lead by Taiga Saito’s complete game, 9 strikeout gem as well as Robert Yu revealing he’s actually a 10 time gold glover with some solid defence. The bats once again shined with everyone contributing to the cause. Eric Su lead the team with 3 RBIs, and Dan Turner with a team leading 3 hits and almost a ya ya if he had a few more bench press reps before game. UQ are in the Gold Medal match against University of Newcastle, who also had a solid outing against reigning champions, University of Sydney.

04.01.2022 Day 1 Review: An exhilarating battle between GU and UQ with UQ drawing first blood, and going on to win the game 4-1. Great pitching by Seth Conklin going a Complete Game with 13 strikeouts. The best batting performance went to Dan Turner who went 2-2, which included a base-clearing, game winning triple. Games tomorrow are against University of Melbourne @ 0900, and UTS @ 1300.

02.01.2022 Day 2 Review: Game 1 Another spectacular appearance by Seth Conklin, and disciplined approach in the batters box gave UQ the 9-0 win. Conklin went CG, 11strikeout, 1 hit shutout for his final appearance for the tournament. On the other side of the ball, Aiden Irvine and Taiga Saito had 2 walks, with Dan Turner and Lachlan Cumming sparking the team batting wise, with 1 RBi and 2 RBIs respectively.... Game 2 Coach Aiden has maintained his University game tradition of giving up at least 7 runs in one inning, with a late rally almost happening however was extinguished finishing the match as a 9-7 loss. Since clinching a semi final appearance, this game was about involving those that had not gathered much game time so far, giving all a complete game. The bats of Ian Karnick and Sunny Joung provided 2 hits each, with Karnick also having 3 RBIs and Campbell Johnson recording an rbi as well. Tomorrow is a rest day with no games needed to play, however, this is the furthest UQ has gone in recent years.

02.01.2022 Hello everybody, The team for the 2019 National University Games has been selected and emails have been sent out to those players. UQ Baseball Club would like to thank everyone that trialled as this was the first time in a few years where trials were needed, showing the increasing pool of talent at UQ Baseball. Once again, thank you all for trialling and now the countdown begins to the Nationals University Games 2019.
