25.01.2022 (Hills Youth) In week 2 of our series Squad Up we talked about making things right with God and with others. Here’s the recap: we can do for others what God has done for us.

24.01.2022 Please join us for our Good Friday (Tenebrae Service) and Easter Sunday services, both at 9am. There are some increased restrictions that all attenders should note: - Wearing of face masks is compulsory for everyone over the age of 12 unless you have a medical reason. - Standing and gathering in groups post service is not permitted and so there will be no morning tea and we will also ask everyone to head home at the conclusion of both services.... Normal restrictions still apply: - Stay home if you're not well and watch online - No handshakes or hugs - All attenders must check in and hand sanitise May the power of the resurrection be evident in all of us this Easter.

The photo falls short of just how beautiful the sunrise was that morning and I was struck in that moment that we really don't have to go far to see and acknowledge God's greatness, beauty, creativity and genius. 20.01.2022 Due to changed mandatory Covid restrictions, this Sunday will look different! Here’s the short version: 1. There will be two services this Sunday 17th - 9am and 10:30am (9am streamed online). Please register in advance at hillschurch.org.au 2. Masks are mandatory for everyone over the age of 12 while inside any of the church buildings, including during the service. 3. Hills Kids holiday program will be on during both services for grade 4 and below.... 4. Hills Bubs will be on during both services in the church office. 5. Pastor Steve’s ordination will be after the second service at 11:45am to 12pm. A seperate sign in sheet will be available at the check in desk for those planning to attend. Overflow will be on the deck if needed. 6. BYO lunch from 12pm. Current regulations require us to be seated while eating or drinking. A seperate sign in sheet for lunch will also be available. 7. 09.01.2022 Today’s service will be modelled after a traditional Tenebrae service. Tenebrae is Latin for darkness or shadows, and a Tenebrae service is a journey through the darkness which Christ bore for our sake. We will walk together through the story of Christ’s suffering, death, and burial, observing the layers of darkness and shadow that He took on for our sake. This will be a somber service, a service of reflective mourning. As we finish each shadow, we will extinguish one of seven candles. If you have your own candles at home representing the 7 shadows of the cross, we suggest you also extinguish each candle as we go. We will finish today with a time of communion. We invite you to join us as we follow Christ on His journey into darkness, even the darkness of death.
