25.01.2022 Round 5 v Old Barker Rugby Club Results Another good weekend with 1s,3s and 4s picking up good wins with 2s just falling short in a reduced game and colts being cut short just after halftime due to an injury. 1st Grade 33-12 Win ... 1s was a tough contest with both side trading defensive blow early on, HRC were patient and eventually scored first then went straight back and scored again, until a lapse just before halftime allowed Barker to go into the break 14-7. After halftime HRC although making some mistakes would show take control of the game and run out winners. 1st Grade remain undefeated in 2nd with a game in hand 2nd Grade 17-20 Loss In a shortened game 2s was a scrappy affair with both sides going back and forth. HRC would find themselves on the wrong side of the referee all day which didnt help them at all. They are still a chance on finals but need a strong performance this weekend to get them right back in the hunt Colts 14-19 Loss Colts were well and truly in this game and were looking good throughout with both sides exchanging blows and playing some fantastic rugby across all facets, until a cruel injury cut the game short just after halftime. Like 2s, colts are still in the finals hunt and will be looking for a good performance this weekend to help push towards a finals birth 3rd Grade 38-12 Win 3s had an early start v Beecroft over at Glenwood and were able to work some new combinations and structures with Barker unable to field a 3rd Grade side. Tries were spread across the backline with the pack providing some strong front foot ball. 3s will be looking to get their campaign back on track and push towards a finals spot. Thanks to Beecroft for the hit out 4th Grade 48-10 Win 4s played some really nice footy, using the ball with both Forward and backs showing great skills and patience. Plenty of great tries. Massive thanks to Rouse Hill for the game and allowing our boys some game time News on the injuries from the weekend, Liam Doherty will require surgery later in the week on his ankle and Matt Ward after spending time in Hospital is back at home and feeling better This weekend we play our Wet Weather Catch up games v Lindfield over at Old Soldiers #foreverblackandred

23.01.2022 Semi Final Results 3rd Grade: 15-61 Loss A tough day at the office for 3rd Grade who met a very strong and clinical Epping Rams side. HRC would score first and would be within touching distance at half time. Epping after halftime produced some great rugby at a very high standard that HRC wasn't able to match ... 1st Grade: 7-21 Loss A very physical game with HRC doing a lot of defending against a big clinical St Patrick's Rugby Club forward pack. Pats led the whole game and with 20 to go and 0-16 down Bailey Bugg would produce some magic to keep the hopes alive. But Pats were very good in closing out the game not giving HRC another sniff and deserved their place in the Barraclough Cup Final Not the day we were after but a fantastic effort by both teams to make it in a strange season Many thanks to all Players, Committee Members and Coaches for their efforts throughout this season. Before we know it we will be getting ready for season 2021 Presentation night details will be announced shortly once we are able to work out Covid Guidelines and restrictions with these #foreverblackandred

Congratulations to Jed Sweeney who will run out for his 100th game for Hills Rugby this weekend in 1st Grade. A crowd favourite Jed was part of the 2012 Colts premiership winning side and has been in and around the 1st and 2nd Grade squads ever since. Jed will be packing down in the front row on the weekend and looking to continue some strong form to start the season Congratulations boys and enjoy the day, these boys will run out at 3.15pm so dont miss out on seeing them in action #foreverblackandred

18.01.2022 Team Selections Round 1 On Saturday the club headed up to The Hills Club for our annual gradings night. There was a great showing from the playing group, we thank them for supporting a major sponsor during this time and we will continue to do so In between watching the footy and a few beverages we did manage to announce some very strong sides for Round 1 ... There are 10 New faces across the 4 grades that will take the field this weekend. 1st Grade will boast 2 Debutantes. A new Captain & 8 Players to come through our colts system over the past few season. They will look to build on their promising season last year and the trial last weekend went along way to say that its possible 2nd Grade is an exciting prospect with plenty of fresh faces across the board. There is plenty of depth in this side with any of these boys very capable of stepping into 1st Grade. Look for these boys to improve this season 3rd Grade is filled with plenty of youth and experience and look very strong, there is host of talent in this side and they'll be looking to a couple of steps further on their last 2 seasons after falling just short 4th Grade has a number of exciting young players mixed in with some experienced older heads. Watch out for a few of these younger boys they are exciting to watch Colts have had great numbers. No team has been named as yet until closer to match day. They have a new skipper and new playing group and the young fellas have been training very hard and are looking to get off to a good start to their 2020 campaign The club is very excited to see what these sides can produce this weekend and throughout the season. So dont miss them this weekend at Yattenden Oval with the action kicking off at 10.45am #foreverblackandred

18.01.2022 Fulltime v Old Barker Rugby Club 1st Grade: 33-12 Win 2nd Grade: 17-20 Loss Colts: 14-19 Loss ... 3rd Grade: 38-12 Win v Beecroft 4th Grade: 48-10 Win v Rouse Hill Best of luck to Matt Ward & Liam Doherty hopefully we get some good news Next week we are away to Lindfield in our Round 4 catch up game #foreverblackandred

17.01.2022 Round 1 v UNSW Rugby Club Wrap Up Its was great to be back on the park on the weekend with HRC coming wins in 1s and 3s, with UNSW taking out 2s,4s and Colts in a very competitive day of Rugby 4th Grade 5-17 Loss ... HRC would strike early with a cracking try to Adam Ward after a miracle pass from Tom Joyce, but UNSW would take their opportunities and run out eventual winners 3rd Grade 17-15 Win HRC started like a house on fire and looked in ominous form. But UNSW showed some great fight and clawed their way back into the game. In what was a game that went end to end. HRC would hold on and take away the 4 points Colts 0-29 Loss Colts found themselves behind early after starting very slowly in the first 10min which cost them. With a number of boys back from Injury this week and back from holidays look for a better performance 2nd Grade 14-22 Loss In a great game in 2nd Grade HRC were desperately unlucky. After fighting their way back to trail by 1 point with a few minutes to go, a late try to UNSW blow out scoreline 1st Grade 17-12 Win Scrappy but we will take it. HRC played nowhere near their potential but managed to come away with the win against a very good UNSW side who will find themselves at the business end of the competition This weekend we travel to Dural to take on new boys Redfield Old Boys for the first time ever. #foreverblackandred

17.01.2022 Round 7 v Hunters Hill Rugby Union Football Club Saturday 5th September Yattenden Oval... John Street, Baulkham Hills Kick Off Times 1st Grade: 3.15pm 2nd Grade: 2.00pm Colts: 12.45pm 3rd Grade: 11.40am 4th Grade: 10.45am Its the final round of the season and we take on our old rivals Hunters Hill at Yattenden Tale Of The Tape 4th Grade: 5th v 6th Both sides are a mathematical chance to sneak into the top 4 but will require a bonus point and a few results to advance further 3rd Grade: 3rd v 5th For HRC a win for locks in 3rd spot, a bonus point secures a finals birth. For Hunters Hill a bonus point win a results going their way could see them sneak into the Top 4 should make for some great viewing Colts: 7th v 4th For HRC finals are out of the equation and they are looking to spoil the party. A win for Hunters Hill locks a spot in the finals series 2nd Grade: 7th v 1st This game has no bearing on finals scenarios with Hunters Hill comfortably the best side in the competition, HRC will be looking for a win to finish off the season that has included 3 losses by 7 or less 1st Grade: 2nd v 1st This game should be a cracker, both sides looking to finish as minor premiers. This game is effectively a semi final in itself, if this game is anything like the 3 games last season between the 2 sides we are in for a treat HRC are looking forward to the challenge and what better place than the Yat for the final round #foreverblackandred

13.01.2022 Round 6 Results v St Patrick's Rugby Club Not a great day for HRC at Hudson Park with St Pats coming away with wins in all grades 1st Grade: 20-44 Loss ... A tale of 2 halves with HRC scoring some great heads up tries and leading at halftime, only to let it fall away and have no answers to a determined and clinical St Pats side in the 2nd Half. The boys now sit 2nd heading into the final round 2nd Grade: 7-31 Loss Just the bounce of the ball and some execution let 2nd Grade down in their loss on the weekend. It was an arm wrestle of a first half with both sides exchanging blows in attack and defense, Pats though were able to take their chances and run out winners Colts: 14-62 Loss The scoreline doesn't reflect the effort that HRC put in against a very good St Pats side. HRC played a large portion of the game due to some early injuries and never stopped trying. 3rd Grade: 12-19 Loss In fiery game with both sides playing some physical footy it came down to the final play of the game where pats would score a late try to snatch victory. A win in the final round will secure a semi finals birth 4th Grade: 7-17 Loss In a real tight contest HRC would fall just short against the competition leading St Pats side. HRC would string some good phases and look good but just lacked some finishing ability. The boys are still a mathematical chance of scraping into finals but would be needing a few results to also go their way Full credit to St Pats who were very good on Saturday and deserved all of their wins This weekend we are back at home for the final round v Hunters Hill #foreverblackandred

13.01.2022 Round 8 Results v Hunters Hill Rugby Union Football Club 1st Grade: 5-37 Loss A top of the table clash where HRC were outclassed by a strong Hunters Hill side. Hunters were strong at set piece and controlled the game throughout ... 2nd Grade: 3-43 Loss HRC showed some fight against the competition heavy weight, but Hunters showed their class and ran away in convincing fashion Colts: 14-20 Loss Set Piece was the difference between the 2 sides, with Hunters Hill dominating at scrum time, not allowing any momentum. HRC would play some very good rugby during general play 3rd Grade: 47-14 Win The shining light for the day with 3s running out convincing winners. HRC were in there shape early and stuck to it all all game and showed what they can do when they stick to their strengths 4th Grade: 5-22 Loss HRC threw plenty at Hunters Hill but the visitors showed their class running out winners. HRC were playing catch up footy most of the game with Hunters scoring the first 3 tries in the 1st half Thats it for the regular season. 2nd Grade, 4th Grade & Colts all missing out on finals spots leaving 3rd Grade and 1st Grade to play finals footy this season Keep your eyes out for details later in the week regarding finals footy #foreverblackandred
