20.01.2022 Rubigolds are a relatively new variety of apple, developed in Tasmania by the Griggs family, sixth generation orchardists. The name "Rubigold" comes from the colour of the apple skin and its golden flesh. Rubigolds are only grown in the Huon Valley, making this variety uniquely 100% Tasmanian owned and grown. They are a versatile apple, delicious to eat as is but also excellent for cooking or juicing because of their natural sweetness. When cut they don’t discolour as quickly as other varieties so they are perfect for fruit salad or cheese platters. Rubigold apples are available this week at the special price of $3.90 per kg.

17.01.2022 Part of what makes Papillon Roquefort a standout amongst its peers is the use of a special mould grown on rye bread deep underground in the company’s caves during autumn. This is ground into a fine powder and used to seed the young curds during cheese making. Papillon ages for 20 days to ensure thorough development of blue mould. The wheels are then aged in their dairy for a minimum of 4 - 5 months, so the cultures can continue to develop their characteristic complexity of flavour and veining. This cheese has powerful and rich flavour, with a creamy mouthfeel, and spicy finish. Papillon Roquefort 100g is available this week for the special price of $7.50 each, a saving of $2.49.
