As a hit up forward rolling thru the middle. Strong body and loves the tough stuff. ... Kicking a lot of goals and winning the 2017 senior flag with Mirboo North. 14.01.2022 Happy Christmas Eve to all in the Blues family! This week we would like to continue our announcements of coaches and players and with a focus on our fabulous ladies team! Please make welcome our coaching panel for 2021!... We are very fortunate to gain the services of two very experienced coaches with a rich background in both men’s and ladies football. Please welcome Assistant Coach Randall Maher who comes to us from the Coolum Breakers where he has coached U17 Youth Girls since the inception of the AFLSCJ competition. As such, Randall has coached many exciting junior prospects as they have transitioned to higher pathways in the female space. Please also make welcome Head Coach of the Hinterland Blue Sapphires for 2021 - Dean Crooks. Dean was the Tasmanian Youth Coach of the Year in 2019 and his last two seasons of coaching were an undefeated U17 Youth Girls squad that won two flags. Dean comes to the Blues with approximately 500 games of senior football playing experience - up to and including at State League level, and approximately 300 games of coaching experience in the Youth, Ressies, Seniors and female space. Both Dean and Randall are already on deck and their input to Pre-season has been resoundingly positive as we move to re-instate our One Club inclusive approach! Welcome aboard gents! With our last session last night before the Christmas break the coaches and committee would like to thank all the people who have worked their butts off over the last 4 weeks - we will definitely have a fit crew come Round 1! Also to the new players who have become Blues . ... The feeling amongst the group, both men and women, has been spot on. With that, we have some more recruitment news to head into the weekend. Please welcome Dominic Killworth to the Hinterland Blues Football Club! Starting his career in the Tasmanian State League, then progressing to the GWS Academy and NEAFL teams. Dom also spent a few years playing VFL for Coburg and Werribee. He’ll be joining us as a specialist midfield-assistant coach. Already taking training and growing the knowledge within the club, Dom is a wonderful player ready to help us take into the future. Welcome aboard mate. Great to have you in Blue! 09.01.2022 The Friyay news continues this week! I’d like to introduce u too our next recruit. Coming to the Blues - Jay Lewis. Originally from Terrigal Avoca Panthers on the Central Coast NSW football has seen him play some high standards of footy. ... Jay spent 3 years in the Sydney Swans Academy before going back to his home club and winning a Senior Premiership. His footy then moving him north where he played at Redlands in the NEAFL. More recently winning a Senior Premiership with Maroochydore in 2018. A Podiatrist by profession, he is opening a business in Woombye just 5 minutes from the Blues ground. A great runner and ball user from the backline thru the midfield, Jay is a massive signing for the club. He can’t wait to build the club and use his experience to make us stronger. Jay’s brother Willow O'Hara is also coming to play as well. Most recently playing with Mayne in the Div 1 Competition. Both can’t wait to crack into pre season. Welcome to the blues boys.
