23.01.2022 Check out the new video from HIPPY Australia on HIPPY and how it works. We are currently taking expressions of interest from families that are interested in starting their HIPPY journey next year. If you live in Rockhampton and have a child starting Kindy next year (4 before 30 June 2021) or know someone that might be interested, the video is a great look into what we do. Check it out and flick me a message if you would like some more information. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3e0JIHpeUc&feature=youtu.be

15.01.2022 Don't forget that we will be up at the Rockhampton Botanic Gardens tomorrow morning celebrating National HIPPY Week. You will find us down at the Lagoon area. Look forward to seeing you there

14.01.2022 Beautiful morning at the Botanic Gardens Lagoon area this morning This morning we celebrated HIPPY Week, My Voice is Important which is all about engaging children's voices in HIPPY. Today we asked the children 'what their favourite thing about HIPPY is?' and 'what they liked about themselves/are good at'. Listening to children and supporting children's agency is important as it supports their independence, self-esteem and sense of belonging. If you would like to find out more about supporting children's agency at home, speak to your Home Tutor.

07.01.2022 Another beautiful day for parent group at the Botanic Gardens commemorating Rememberance Day today. Today we made poppies and placed them on the war memorial at 11am and observed a minutes silence to pay tribute to the men and women who have served and are still serving in our defence forces. It is also NAIDOC week and important to acknowledge all our nation's first people who served but did not always receive the recognition as other veterans. Since the Boer War, Aborigin...al and Torres Strait Islanders have fought for Australia. It is known at present that at least 1000 First Nation peoples served in the First World War and at least 13 are known to have been killed in action fighting at Gallipoli. Around 3,000 Indigenous Australians served in the Second World War. Approximately 745 of these joined the Torres Strait Light Infantry Battalion formed specifically to defend the Torres Strait. Today Aboriginal and Torres Strait men and women are proudly serving in all branches of the Australian Defence Force. (Uncle Harry Allie, Indigenous Veterans Commemoration at the Anzac Memorial, 29 May 2020) Lest we forget

06.01.2022 Be on the lookout for our upcoming video were MarriAnn and Michaela make some of their families favourites. Chicken Nuggets (they are delicious) and Fried Rice (also amazing) both are so super easy.

05.01.2022 What a great morning at Kershaw Parklands talking all about Breast Cancer for Breast Cancer Awareness month. Thank you to the families who came along and shared stories and experiences about Cancer. In the photos you will see our little 'pink ladies'. Every little lady represents someone who has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer that is known by one of the 6 parents that attended. There are 16 little pink ladies represented, which just goes to show how many people that Breast Cancer affects. There is also one little lady which is representing a male which also helped to bust the myth that Breast Cancer is only a female Cancer. Thank you again for all being so open about your experiences

02.01.2022 Busy prepping for parent group tomorrow which is of course Rememberance Day. We will have take home packs of all the ingredients for you to make ANZAC biscuits at home with the kids. I have made a few for us all to try at the meeting as well. Getting the kids involved in cooking is a great sensory activity and a fantastic way of encouraging them try new foods, bonus that they are also learning a skill for life. Hope to see you all there
